Outcast2004 said:Striker's awesome on the mic. One hell of a talker....
He's not quite as great as The Genius, Lanny Poffo....but he'll do.
Dr. Kitty Muffins said:He should get pushed in a league where undersized wrestlers with good mic skills are appreciated.

I haven't watched wrestling in a while, so can someone fill me in on if this is a relative or something?

THE CHAMP IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, to be fair, the WWE doesn't say "Jr"Outcast2004 said:It's Ted DiBiasie Jr..... that should clue you in.
The Frankman said:CENA = RATINGS!!!
Someone .gif Cena giving the People's Eyebrow at the end!!
seriously, you people are so easy to tweak.
The Frankman said:Except Brad loves Cena. I merely tolerate him because I've seen guys built up like him and never went "OMG WORST THING EVER TO WRESTLING HE CAN EXECUTE A DROP TOE HOLD RRRAAAAAGHGHHH!!!!"
Outcast2004 said:Some of us are old enough to remember Hogan's bullshit... he's the same mold of meatheads who cant work a match to save their lives.
The problem? Half the fucking crowd wasn't booing Hogan all the damn time.
The Frankman said:b-b-but Hogan was a REAL AMERICAN!!! why boo him??
Call it fair. If you're booing Hogan you're booing Ultimate Warrior and anointing guys like Mr. Perfect and Bret Hart as your gods.
meh.... you've always had your spectacles in wrestling and your legitimate talent.. nothing has changed for, what.... 40 years? and it is VERY common for the spectacle to outshine (or at least be pushed past) the legitimate talent. because at the end of the day, people would much rather pay to see the absurdity of it all, as opposed to two seaty guys grabbing each other not matter how technically proficient they are.. nothing has really changed, ever. There just happens to be a few great periods in wrestling history where the spectacle happened to BE the good talent. but those times are very very very few and far between. it just stings bad when you can easily remember back to them as if they weren't all that long ago.Outcast2004 said:As well you should. It's a damn shame Hennig never held the world title. The guy had it all.
Striker said:It bugged me that Cena/Dave were the main event, meanwhile the #1 contenders match for the World Title is in the middle of the show.
--The Smackdown angle with Mick Foley may be interesting since Foley's contract expires shortly and his long-term as a Smackdown announcer is in question. It was expected he would be off tomorrow's show in the guise of selling the angle but that wasn't certain.

Several sources indicate that Foley is fed up with getting yelled at in his headset by Vince McMahon and is disgruntled with the current arrangement.

This. Just like Kofi Accra, Chad Michael Pepsi needs the slow build so they can be immortalized in the future. And remember, I still think business will pick up once they can get the Orton-Punk thing going. I see that as a good future rivalry.dskillzhtown said:Not like it is the first time this has happened recently. Especially when HHH didn't have the title and someone other than Cena did. It really drives home the fact that the titles are nothing more than props nowadays. Props used to get people over. But I can see CM winning at Summerslam, then starting to get the main event status afterwards. Let's be honest. Dave/Cena are bigger stars than Punk, they have made more money for the company. They are (hopefully) using the belt to get Punk to where he needs to be. But just throwing him in the main event slot from the get go isn't going to work. Prove himself to the fans at the mid-card, then get a main event battle to keep the belt.
.Mick Foley's latest run with WWE could conclude at Summer Slam. His contract is set to expire soon and he's uncertain whether he wants to move forward with his role as a Smackdown color commentator. There are some lingering bad feelings that stem from Vince McMahon coming down hard on Foley while producing him through the headsets one week back when Foley was still working with Michael Cole. Foley was so bothered by what McMahon said to him over the headsets that he called him later that night to discuss the situation.
Although the buzz is that Vince has toned things down while producing Foley since then, Mick is still bothered by the way he and other announcers have been produced. The ball is in Foley's court in the sense that WWE wants him to re-sign, but he wants to know that he'll have fun doing the job and won't have to put up with Vince's maniacal rants. Foley is expected to appear at Summer Slam in some capacity. That show is viewed as a possible end date for Foley if he chooses not to re-sign with the company.
Powell's POV: There is a chance Foley won't appear on television this week so that he can sell the angle he did with Edge that aired on Friday's Smackdown. However, the Edge angle was not written with a possible blowoff in mind or to get him off television, and there is still a chance that he could appear on the show this week. A well-placed source said Foley will be at Summer Slam in some capacity, yet put the odds of him appearing beyond that show at 50-50.
Vince is notoriously tough on his broadcasters and the feeling is that Foley was never exposed to that side of his personality during his wrestling days. Foley is known as a sensitive guy and he took Vince's harsh words personally. He's saved his money over the years and the feeling is that he'll walk away if he doesn't feel like he's in a positive work environment.
