I spend the vast majority of my Vita time playing Lumines Electronic Symphony (God, I love that game so much, and the soundtrack is incredible), TxK and Street Fighter Alpha 2.

Remember folks: Never be more than five metres away from something that you can play Street Fighter on.

Lumines was the first title I bought on the Vita. That and MK.

Yeah, I'm in her (pretty huge) circle of friends and it's a sad day all round. She's getting some great tributes, front page on the major news sites which I guess I should've expected.
Yeah, my FB feed is filled with links to different articles about her. Admittedly I didn't know much of her other than from reading the occasional article of hers, but was always impressed with her writing. Such a shame.

Finally resolved PC issues.

Somehow, my storage HDD (3TB) was causing my computer to boot slowly and act extremely erratically. Even after I formatted it. Disconnecting it caused my PC boot times to increase 15 fold, back up to proper SSD speeds. Got a new HDD and it does not cause the same issue.

Really weird.
My computer's been booting slowly... maybe I should look into it

Any suggestions re selling game collections? I have a few retro consoles I would like to move on but would rather do it locally if possible. The main package will be a Saturn with about 20 games including Panzer Dragoon Saga, Dragonforce, Burning Rangers and so on..

Top 3 worst things in the universe

1) Routers / internal network stuff / port forwarding etc
2) Printers
3) Genocide

4) Twain Drivers

as for 1) we had clients with servers that got cooked in in the storms on the weekend at Hornsby - the servers seems ok but the network keeps dying on them and our product is client/server database i/o so it kept crashing. Thing is we are just a software vendor and they are all mixed up re who manages the company infrastructure as far as hardware goes. Basically had to escalate it up to the CEO before they got the picture. Was like something out of The IT Crowd.

Honestly ebay generally gives the best price, however then you have to deal with idiot bidders/ebay.

Hey I know i'm asking a million Playstation questions but I've just been out of the loop.

I currently use PlayTV as my TV watching stuff and my DVR when needed. Does PS4 have anything like that in Australia at the moment?

Also it's a damn shame that Stella Young passed away today.

Such a powerful and amazing advocate for those with disabilities.

Yeah I was just checking ebay and some of the prices for these games are nuts. Would still like to move them as a package with the hardware and official magazines amongst other stuff - will have to get it all sorted.

Nope. You're SOL unless you count things like iView and such.

The Shift, how much are you looking for for that Saturn stuff?

Don't know yet - I will price it over the next day or so but will be reasonable. I have a Dreamcast collection that's quite hefty and a Sega Nomad, a Vectrex and a couple of Sega SC3000H pc's to go out as well. Are you collecting retro stuff Gaz?

Thing is I would like to avoid Gumtree/Ebay etc and sell directly to a collector as package deals so would be very flexible re pricing. Pickup in Brisbane would be best but can pack it up and ship within Australia.

Got any PSX stuff? Lately I've had an urge to get a mint PSX and a few of my fave game from the era.

WEATHER UPDATE FOR DRIVECLUB IS OUT!!!!

Noice. Although I'm still YET to go online. I got connected once, went straight for your invite and it said it had expired and then promptly disconnected me again and I haven't tried again since.

No PSX stuff - just a Killzone Mercenary Vita pack I want to sell but was playing it last night and might keep it - PSX classic games was part of the reason I bought it but I am always too busy to give it any time. I just remembered, I have Phantasy Star Online for Gamecube with a memory card sitting there as well.

Pedo.

The Shift: Asking me if I'm into retro stuff is like asking an alcoholic if he'd like a vodka cruiser. I HAVE A PROBLEM.

I'm also flat broke until the new year so I'll have to pass on this for now ><

Why would you do such a thing?

Also pics?

Do it most years around this time, summer in Adelaide is no time for a big, thick, flowing, magnificent beard. :(

Pics in the beard thread. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=142323235&postcount=650

I won't scare RadGAF by posting them in here.

So basically spent the last several weeks in the activist centre all-day volunteering for a election campaign by handing out, letterboxing, organising and contacting people along with organising a socialist youth conference called Radical Ideas in Geelong.. now after having got elected on a leadership body of my political group on the last day of the conference.. I have no idea wtf I'm suppose to do with my life over the holidays now that's it all over!

Guess I'll actually play a video game now.

No worries - if I still have this stuff hanging about in the new year we can sort something out ok

How's the Nomad? I've always been interested in those. Playing Mega Drive games on the go would be rad.

I'm going to test it tonight after work. It's a cool handheld for sure - being able to connect to a tv is cool. You can plug a second Megadrive controller into it for multiplayer in that situation too.

Question for tabletop ausgaf:

My father's started reading White Dwarf, and seems to be somewhat interested in learning what this warhammer stuff is all about. My first reaction is that Warhammer is a hole that nobody in their right mind should ever go down, and looking up sets online pretty much confirmed what I thought: you're spending thousands of dollars on a pretty average game.

So, my question is...

Is there an alternative to Warhammer, that either has inexpensive minis or is otherwise a traditional war game/board game that simply has a shitload of pieces, that can emulate some form of tactical battles (fantasy, ww2 or otherwise), that is at least reasonably fun for 3 players?

So waiting on a package from DHL. Status changed to 'on hold' after it had been all cleared and arrived at a delivery facility. Whats that mean exactly?

GW pretty much owned the fantasy minis field years ago.

fuck it I'll just buy risk or axis and allies or something

you know, zombicide cost like a hundred dollars and came with a shitload of little zombie models and it was awesome and you can play it with like six people or somethin' and if you really want to you can paint the zombies but who cares because they didn't cost that much in the first place. Or Zombies!!! which is the dumbest game ever comes with a bunch more little figures that don't actually do anything but it's still cool to move a buncha crap around on a board and roll dice

and warhammer you pay like a thousand dollars to get a shitty little army and then you need to go find a bunch of other goobers who paid thousands of dollars on their shitty little armies

what happened to those little plastic army men toys you could buy in the thousands, and why hasn't someone made a game where you just use those things and you throw dice at them until they break or something

So whats everyone getting their SO for the holidays?

My missus Bday is on the 30th so of course I need to get two gifts.

Xmas - Surface Pro 2 (Thanks The Shift!!) and a Diary. Something to help her organize for her newish job.

Bday - Need to find something adventurous around Melbourne to do. She took me Sky Diving for my bday so need to think of something along those lines. However, I am also putting together a collection of old pictures of the area we are moving to (Brunswick West). She loves history and said she really wanted to try and find some old pictures of the road we will live on and frame them for the guest room. I found the old pictures today, so just need to print them out. Will put an IOU on the frame since I don't know how many she will want.

Any adventurous ideas?

Now to do Brothers, Mom and Dad. As well as Xmas cards. Ugh busy time of the year!!

Any adventurous ideas?
A few years back my wife bought me a flight in a biplane (gipsy moth training plane) at Point Cook (private flight club next to the air force base). We flew around for a bit, did a couple of loops, the pilot who must've been 70+ survived just fine.

Not super adventurous, but I really enjoyed it, having already done skydiving and bungee jumping and the like prior.

Or, if she's more tame, the Harbour Bridge is fun to climb, but obviously requires a trip to Sydney.

Hah that would be cool to be in one of those! We've both been in little propeller planes separately and together, but never one of those types of planes. Last year with did a fly over of the Nazca lines in Peru. She says it was definitely the worst flight she has been on, and it probably was for me too, but I wasn't as bothered as she was. I think she might enjoy that though since it is different then other types of

She mentioned the Harbour Bridge in the past since neither of us have been to Sydney. Will probably do that once we actually move to our new place. I like that Idea though, maybe there is something similar in Melbourne.

Let's just say I'll never get in one of those planes.

The wife's given me a limit to spend on her this Xmas, but truth be told everything I can think of for her is either well below the limit well above it, and I'm thinking of just going "fuck it" and treating her with something super expensive I know she wants.
Plus I also want to experience all the Apple staff applauding when I buy an iMac
. I have a sneaking suspicion she's ignoring the limit too because she's asking waaaay too many questions about new consoles and I don't think she's wanting to know what system Street Fighter V is coming to for herself.
