Just somewhere she can hang out on her own and scratch, but also just the climbing the towers stuff, she likes to jump around, and there's not much for her atm except window sills.

Another thing you can do Holy (depends on your landlord), you can put a cat door in and some netting outside. We have a sliding door that we slotted (can be undone with no damage) in a cat door to so the cats can out to the veranda. The veranda has netting around it so they can't get out and animals can't get it, they love it though as they can go outside while not being a danger to other animals. An added bonus is the litter trays are out there as well so they don't stink up the inside :). Can give you more info if you're interested.

What does your cat scratch without a post being available?

My current cat ignores the scratching post and only scratches on two things, some textured dining chairs (cats love scratching textured fabric) which I've now covered and a small $10 rectangular block of corrugated cardboard I got from the RSPCA store. But he loves to chill on the too-small half-pipe thing up top.

But if I'm not around, he just sleeps all day or looks out the window. So long as I give him a little attention where he can chase a piece of string for about 15 minutes a day, he's happy. Besides, if they're a climber, they will climb.

That's it. So buying one of these for my girlfriend's cats. Although hopefully it doesn't result in the end of one of the particular cats' end-of-poop scamper to the scratching post. That's always hilarious.

yeah, you probably don't want to use a blacklight between the litter tray and the scratching post.

She has a small scratching post but she's torn it to shreds, she also had my couch which she went to town on (but no other furniture) as I encouraged her to.

But I've moved now and got rid of my couch as I had no where to put it.

She sleeps all day too when I'm not home, but I just want to make sure she has options!

I thought about the netting at my other places, but my current place is an apartment with no yard. Only a small bbq area which I could net off, but the housemate probably wouldn't be for it for several reasons. I'm assuming you can get like... doors that fit in a normal door? Without damaging the door.

Like you leave it ajar. And lock it into this cat door that also has locks / so the house is locked etc

Yes, these exist. Can't remember where I saw them but I did. They cost a couple hundred dollareedoos, though. I think there were some at Bunnings and a couple of other specialty places.

Holy, this is the cat door I was talking about:

They slot straight in and the sliding door locks into that. For extra security you can drill a hole into the door runner, further back so the deadlock can lock into that.

Bunnings have a cheaper version: http://www.bunnings.com.au/hartman-...cat-door-for-patio-and-sliding-doors_p3961814

I love these once-every-fortnight-or-so "fill a plastic bag with fruit & veg and it only costs $3" deals at Woolies. I've probably eaten more fruit & veg in my 5 months in Australia than I have in the 30 years of my life preceding it.

It better be Australian fruit!

I had one like that for my dog when I was renting, it really worked well because it was in the laundry and we used the patio bolt and then put wood in the glass doors track so it couldn't be opened. I did worry about security because you could lift them out and force it in if you wanted to but I had no issues. I Used to take it out when I had inspections in case they didn't approve of it but after a while. I just left it in. On one inspection the owner noticed it and the real estate said that they recommend tenants use them.

Or industrian has just been committing theft for his entire time in the country and is about to be deported now that I've reported him to BORDER FORCE.

Never. There must be some independent competition nearby that they're trying to crush.

The three times I've got this deal was when I was in Morayfield Shopping Centre.

Around the corner is Dickson Road Market that sells great quality meat, fruit and vegetables at a really good price point. There is also the Sunday market in Caboolture that sells really good and really cheap fruit & veg.

But to be perfectly honest I think it's just them clearing stock. It doesn't appear to be a regular thing, and all three times I've got it were totally random visits.

I'm already preparing my defence. It goes something like this: https://youtu.be/4B93BoC9ylg?t=1m57s

It was on tonight, so I expect to see him on next week's episode.

I've never heard of it either, neither has the missus.

Must be a store specific thing. Or you are a master theif stealing fruit one bag at a time.

all aboard the toy hype train for Ant-man. Seeing it tomorrow afternoon and really looking forward to it.

Yeah I'm catching it tomorrow night. My hype has been slowly building, which I didn't think it would after all the kerfuffle with Edgar Wright leaving the project.

AusGAF, so I got an interview for a government job working at the Classification Board next week. Fingers crossed...my dream was to get paid to watch movies and play video games all day. Any advice?

Make them stop refusing classification for dumb reasons.

Hell yeah! That's one of the reasons why I applied!
I have a feeling it won't be as easy as that. Don't you have to follow very specific guidelines for ratings etc., bearing in mind precedents and consistency? Those guidelines themselves may be what's broken.

A friend of mine claims he met someone who was on the board a few years ago. Apparently she burnt out after a while due to all the violent and/or disturbing porn they made her watch.

Good luck!

I bought Godzilla on PS4 today. It's been ages since Ive bought a "bad" game. The last few I remember are Dynamite Cop 2 on Dreamcast, Disaster Day of Crisis on Wii, and Halo 3.

My condolences.

I was not paid the $20.80 Work for the Dole bonus (meant to pay for transport expenses) for the last fortnight because my job agency changed in the middle when the previous lost funding, and that stopped my activity from being counted. And they didn't tell me that it had changed so I continued the work, and paying for the transport. I rang Centrelink about it today, was on hold for ages until 4:40, then the person who answered was from a different department because the employment services one closed at 4:30 while I was on hold. Even though the website says they were open until 5pm.

Yeah a guy at work was on the phone to them last week for 2 hours. He was transferred 8 times from one area to another and then back again.

I ended up really crook at PAX last year. Got fluid in my ear which led to a perforated ear drum. Felt fucking AWFUL for like 6 months after that and could never get the right doctor to do something about it. Even now I feel like it still has issues, I get overheated/dehydrated so damn quickly now.

So yeah, take it easy and rest up! Take that shit seriously.

Get used to filling in looooots of paperwork. And being super paranoid about missing any hidden details, nobody wants a Hot Coffee hanging over their heads.

Though that being said, geez it would be nice if someone there knew how to operate a games console ><
