Yes.

You can see them literally any other day ever.
If you don't join us you may get sad texts from a drunken adelaidian

sad texts from a drunken adelaidian <--- so like last month from my mum?

depends how long you kids kick on for, I can probably come after dinner like 10-11

I've got a vanilla AUS copy that I can play online using my US PSN account no sweat, but wasn't sure if DLC would trip me up. So I'd just activate it using my AUS account and then log in to my US account to play online? Sweet.

Actually check with the Destiny OT maybe and see if other people did the same thing. I don't want to give you bad info in case Bungie changed how the DLC works in terms of activations!

What you are saying should work fine but I can't be 100% sure.

Kissed a mod for a tag; liked it
I was out till 3 am at the casino on Saturday. I was dead the next morning. I'm to old for that these days.

I went to bed at 4am this past sunday morning. Was out having a midnight photoshoot with some friends. I felt like I'd been in a moshpit the night before so I feel you there. Too old ;__;

yikes @ Halo install. Queued, deleted, start again. Not looking like I'll get to play tonight. I'll watch Supergirl and play AC: S on PS4 instead.

Mine went great guns for the install part and was flying along for most of the 9GB patch, but then once it got to 91% it just sat there for about 20 minutes. Has been slowly creeping up (96%) over the last 15 minutes.

yeah, not playing it tonight. time for a movie.

fuck, I'm having a blast with AC: Syndicate. lead characters are paper thin as usual but Evie is slightly more interesting since she's a she. But there was a redhead sidekick from Unity who'd have made a way mor einteresting playable character, but she was too hard to animate.

I have a mate who's a designer on Syndicate. His name is one of the few non-French names in the end credits.

I know a guy who was, until recently, a programmer at 343. If the Warthog drives even more shittily that usual, I'll know who to blame. "They say, write what you know."

I got an Installed Stopped ! error message on mine at the 98% point, tried rebooting, but nothing doing. Uninstalled all ~54gb and starting again! =S

Apparently some people are having luck with the last couple of percent by tethering their phones to use that data instead of your ISP. Might be an iiNet issue...

Well done on really narrowing it down.

Hey, without the rest of the brains trust, it's difficult to work up the effort to try.

but like i'll pick somewhere on thursday night i guess. or anyone else can make a call. as I said in steam, not a one man pelaton.

but if anyone will be travelling / wont be checking gaf, happy to PM me your mobs and ill sms a location when its confirmed.

Codswallop, any recommendations? Thoughts on the above?
Hmm, only been to Cookie and Beer Deluxe. Both get super packed, but at least Beer Deluxe has the room for a large group.

I know I lot aren't fans (and I'm not super enthusiastic about it) but Beer Deluxe is still the best place in my mind. It's big, easy to find, close to public transport, and has decent enough beer.

Unless the meet is in a park I can't really think of a better place. But I'm lazy. Also, I doubt I'll be in a position to attend, so don't listen to me...

Has anyone had experience with buying an overseas sim card for traveling? I'm going to the US but I need phone data and good coverage since I'm going to some smaller towns that won't have easily accessible public transport so having access to Uber and calling a Taxi is vital. Also calling my friend who I'm meeting over there.

I was thinking of buying an AT&T card and buying the $80 pre-paid. I heard someone say some phones won't even work over there though because of different signals and shit. Is that true? My Galaxy S4 worked fine in Japan and Europe.

I vote Penny Black, the bar we ended up at last year. It's out of the way (no huge crowds), they have a decent selection of bottled craft beers, and the owner seemed like a pretty cool guy

In Brunswick?? That's where I live. That pub gets packed late at night, but will be quiet at 5. I mean there are some good pubs by me...

It used to be that old phones couldn't support multiple networks, but most new phones can do this no problem.

I think AT&T uses GSM, and I'm pretty sure the S4 supports that. You should be fine, but just double check that.

As known as the place with the Halloween costumes.

The whole lead up and hype to Sailor Mars' imminent arrival and then almost immediate departure was hilarious.

I finally got mine working after a second install, had to use Google DNS to get the last few % downloaded and installed.

By that point it was 11.30 so I went to bed x_x

yeah, I'm on internode so I'm guessing the unmetered XBL on internode/iinet was an issue.

first level- like a first person Geometry Wars. So many glowy colours. glorious.

The HaloS are on my TV. It is glorious. Send gamer fuel.

Game is on point alright. I'm staring down the barrel of multiple late night-ers, by which I mean early morning-ers. I'm tired but a very happy Halo fan as are my XBL Halo buddies. The dad/professional side of me is a tired cranky miserable old man during the day though.

Thanks cruncho, good idea. I reckon that's the go.

And lol @ sailor Mars story. Bar tender built that up.

Sailor mars was heaps disappointing. I reckon i'll look sexier in my charmander onesie this weekend. When we went back there it was pretty good though cruncho (when they had the live music)

I'll need to get appropriately drunk this friday to greet my mate as he arrives close to midnight.

ps. GAF unblocked at work again, hallelueyah!!!! productivity - 1000%

I guess those of us actually going from PAX should figure out a time and place to meet so we can head there together too, maybe...

Good read.

And yep not sure what time I'll be there, land at the airport around 5:20 I think, but will come in direct from there on friday

Yeah, nice one. Except this:
Glover’s first visit to an MP3-trading chat channel came shortly afterward. He wasn’t sure what an MP3 was or who was making the files. He simply downloaded software for an MP3 player, and put in requests for the bots of the channel to serve him files. A few minutes later, he had a small library of songs on his hard drive.

No he did not. A few minutes later he had a few kb of the first mp3.
