It's price? Steam sales have made everyone tight with money when it comes to PC games these days :lol

PC gamers have always been tight arses.

Except when it comes to hardware, at which they will throw thousands of dollars every year in order to complain about the framerate of games ported from a console.

Getting my P's today, just before the Sep 4 deadline which would require me to get more log book hours. Phew.
Whats SA putting it up to? Nothing can be worse then what NSW has.

lol I googled what you guys now have- fuck that- thats 10x better still then the NSW system, for one the speed limit is at 100km/per hour not fucking 80. And 75 hours is still 10x better then 120.

The steam group is still up to date and in use. Usually 15+ people in the group chat every night.

I don't think many picked up worms due to it's price. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone grabbed it for $10 or so at the christmas sale. I know ridonk picked it up but that's about it.
It's not up-to-date because I'm not on it.

As for Worms- was thinking of getting it- but dang, $20.

I would pay $20 for Worms if it wasn't inferior in every way to a version that is over 10 years old (Worms Armageddon).

Did anyone catch channel 10 playing the xbox kinect e3 event last night?

Mate just mentioned it then, i'm guessing it was on some time after the F1. Said it had some family on stage, drums and rotating shit. Figured it was the kinect event :lol

FFS.

There is something seriously wrong with ETSA and Telstra.

I've had my power go out about 7 times this financial year already.
the longest being about 10 hours. over night.

I live in the hills, it's fucking cold.

then this weekend my phonelines went out (the entire area) about Saturday 5pm.

We rang Telstra, they just said yeah it might get fixed on Monday but we cant promise anything.

grrrr.

Maybe how to join the AusGAF Steam community should be in the OP. Although I guess no one would read it anyway.

Ouch 120 hrs, that's crazy. I did hear a rumour of 150 hours before they officially announced it, but it only ended up going to 75.

Doesn't matter anyway, got my license today, just gotta wait for it to be sent out this week!

I've had my L's for almost two years (well I only started getting the hours up this year but still), and I have 50 left (and thats only because they introduced last year that instructors for 10 hours adds a x3) otherwise I'd still be up to like 70ish left.

:/

I've had my Ls for 9 or 10 years and haven't driven a single minute.

Fuck yea.

It does expire at the end of next year so i do need to take a serious look at getting my P's. Just to get it over and done with.

Dude thats crazy- you should of just got your P's originally then not give two craps where you went from there- cause then you would have it if you needed it.

True. But i don't like the idea of driving. It scares me or something :lol . Just one of those things that i can never wrap my head around even though the one or two times i've had lessons, i've been told i can drive.

It's on the todo list.

Driving is fun- and awesome- if I had my P's I'd be on the road 24/7.

I detest driving. I prefer to walk if I have the option.

Wasn't there a law coming into affect that P platers couldn't drive turbo or v8 cars? Did that ever happen? And what happens to the P platers that already own said cars?

My dad likes to tell the story of how he got his license. He went into the police station and the cop said "can you drive?" my dad says "yep", and he was handed a drivers license.

My granddad might be dying :\ He's had some prolonged health problems and recently went in for surgery and now has taken a turn for the worse.

Just got off the phone with Mum and she's looking for flights to get over there this weekend. He's a grumpy, racist, cantankerous old coot with shocking personal habits and who walks around town without a shirt on, but he's my grandfather and we love him ;_;

Both my dad and grandfather have ridiculous stories about getting their licenses. My granfather tells us he was 15 and drove the family car to the police station and was told "well if you drove here you must be ok" and was given a license.

My dad had gone to the police station with his older sister to get her license and rode in the back seat while she drove around the block on her "driving test". When she was done, the police officer said "well we might as well do you as well" and had Dad do the same round the block test and they both got their licenses. Dad also has a similar story for his truck license, in which he stopped at the police station in a large truck carrying a full load of livestock. As with my grandfather, he was told that if he drove that here, he'll be fine and was given a license.

Believable. I know my fathers test was drive down a straight road, 3pt turn at the end, and drive back to cop shop. License Got.

Sorry to hear it vks.

I don't know how to transition into what I was going to post originally, so here it goes - why won't damn Zavvi take my damn money? I'm trying to buy Darksiders, and it keeps telling me that the Commonwealth Bank won't authorise the payment. I tried putting it through a few times and gave up.

Five minutes later some girl from CBA rang me, and this is a paraphrase of the conversation:

Her: Hi are you trying to use your card on the internet?

Me: Yes, it isn't working though.

Her: Well you see it's because your account has no money in it.

Me: Actually this card is linked to the account with money in it, not the one with none. And I've bought from this site several times before with no issues.

Her: Oh well lol I don't know then guess you should try again in 30 minutes.

Thanks for the help!

That walking into a police station is a familiar story, but that's they way it was in small towns back then.

Of course that's also how I got a speedboat license in the mid-90's in Brisbane. My dad had one (no pic on those) but lost it. So when he decided to buy a speedboat, he and my mum went and did the course to get one (don't ask how he got the first one). Then he found the original license so when he went to collect the printed license, he got them to make out in my name.

So I have a legit speedboat license without doing shit for it.

People that don't get their licence as soon as it's humanly possible weird me out.

I mean it's not like we live in New York. I can't think of anywhere in Australia where you'd never need to drive.

All licenses acquired in the bustling metropolis of Stanthorpe, Queensland.

Where i'll be moving to (new unit, woo) i won't NEED a car at all. I can drive and will, but i could do 90% of things by just walking/pub transport easily. (i got my license when i was 18 i think, or maybe 17, i forget).

Public transport is available in most places.

The problem is you need to take public transport with other people that take public transport...

Going motorcycle shopping on Saturday, woo.

My dad had a similar experience in Broken Hill. Went in to the cop shop, drove around the block, parked and bam, drivers license.

I wouldn't say i'm the opposite, I love walking, used to walk to and from work every day through the North Adelaide Parklands and loved it, but I love finally having my Ps. Sometimes I'll need to go somewhere or get something that will take a 15-20 minute walk both ways, whereas driving there in a car will mean 5-10 minutes all up. Plus a lot of my mates are 20-30 minutes away via car and I feel bad when they have to drive for an hour to come and get me to go to their house.

From Sep 4th in SA P platers can not drive the following

- Vehicles with engines of eight or more cylinders

- Vehicles with turbocharged or supercharged engines (excluding diesel powered vehicles)

- Vehicles that have been modified to increase engine performance

- Nominated high performance vehicles, including BMW M & M3, Honda NSX, Nissan 350Z & 370Z, all post 1994 Porsches and the Mercedes Benz SLK350.

I should probably steam chat more too... Keep forgetting about it. But, not until next month. I'm so close to going over my cap I'm refraining from anything but the necessary.

I don't think IMs use any bandwidth. Although when using steam you gotta be careful about those updates i guess.

Exactly. If I started up Steam not only would it download a few updates (it's been a while since I started it), but it loads up 4 billion images too.

No, my precious download limits are dedicated to GAF, porn, and online gaming (Crackdown 2 used just over 100MB in a 4 hour session, which I found interesting).
