I got some at lunchtime today (~1hr ago) and brought them back to the office. There's a lineup, but it's not that bad.evlcookie said:They are krispykremes, so not that good. And this - Offer limited to the first 10,000 customers and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount. The voucher must be redeemed and surrendered instore.
I wonder how long that will take to run out.

Making the ratings different to film ratings is in my eyes a stupid idea anyway. They should be the same, because the government has already spent the time and money getting people to understand how that system works.Bernbaum said:So effectively G, PG, M and R. I guess it's an issue of granularity- the M rating is still only a suggestion for parents and has no legal restrictions at the sales counter.

it is now a full blown classification review. Not just video games. They want to change the entire system.

This is good, why?
If they start to f around to much then the pain they will feel is much bigger from the public. If movies start to get a raw deal people will go bananas. Just compare media and public reaction to when ken park was banned to Aliens vs Predator game for example.
As well as this, MA15+ goes for games it will go for films.
So on the one hand you will have the game companies fighting like buggery to get R18 and then film companies fighting to keep MA15
its all FUCKED

Yeah, his language comes across as a bit paranoid, but the base proposal is fine, I think.\Bernbaum said:So effectively G, PG, M and R. I guess it's an issue of granularity- the M rating is still only a suggestion for parents and has no legal restrictions at the sales counter.
I think MA15 is a bit redundant, personally, so it could go for movies too. We lives without it for years, it was only introduced after the M rating had been around for ages. If I am remembering correctly...codswallop said:Making the ratings different to film ratings is in my eyes a stupid idea anyway. Now they want to make it different when they have the opportunity to make it the same, and thus easier? Woo government.
Ah. Good and bad. Film companies will win, they have a lot more money and influence.Choc said:guys

Choc said:Serrells three article ideas (you didnt do the last one, but thats cool)
1. An article on games released in 2010 that would have likely received R18 had it been available
2. Explanation of the current classification system and explaining the differences between the different classifications
hardly anyone understands in video game terms what is different between M15 and MA15 in terms of whats allowed in each category. I understand because i did the classification training a while back (i also did an assignment on the classification system of Australia @ university for communications and marketing with the summary that the economic impact of not having an R18 classification will eventually mean that it will become inevitable that we will have one, its turning out rather well so far i would say...)
3. Perhaps an article on the process of classifying an game and how significantly different it is when M and MA15 is involved.
Quick tip. M games are allowed to be self certified by the games publisher themselves. MA15 must front the board (the publisher takes a guess as to what it would fit in)
For some insane reason Rockstar self rated GTA 3 M15+ and hence released it. Then the OFLC found out and went a bit nuts

I didn't need it, but that's damn cheap for an official 360 drive (including all transfer cables, discs etc.) so I bought one :lol
