The Barwon River in Geelong has as well... down near Belmont (for those who know the area). But it usually does under heavy rains so it's not exactly news.RandomVince said:Wait really? Or is this choc hyperbole and it was just a wave splashing?
It's just the usual... the road near the rowing place flooded (as well as the rowing club itself, naturally) and was blocked off. Had to find an alternate route to get back to Shannon Ave :/TheFury said:I'm down near Belmont ways, but I had no idea that happened. Late pass.
Ahh. I know where you mean. Haven't had any need to go into Belmont/Geelong recently. At least the rowing equipment wouldn't be ruined when it does get flooded, or I'd expect that to be the case for the most part.Shaneus said:It's just the usual... the road near the rowing place flooded (as well as the rowing club itself, naturally) and was blocked off. I'm keen to play ilomilo and and trawling for opinions on the game.
I use it for supercoach scores as it's seems to be the only site that does in game updates and it updates quicker then the hs site at times for the quarter time scoresYdahs said:Oi, does any here use FanFooty? More specifically, FanFooty's team viewer which allows you to view your AFL Dream Team scores live?
Edit: omg I killed ausgaf

Unless there's a Australian Open thread already, or mentioned in the QLD thread in OT, then yeah. Should be good.

I always thought the reason that the admins allowed AusGAF to have its own little community was to keep an eye on us.evlcookie said:I thought some aussie hacked gaf and the entire AU IP range got banned.
I could be wrong though. Should be some archival thread about it i would imagine.
If it weren't for beer discussion, there would be people overseas who wouldn't be aware of the flood disaster!Fredescu said:Pre AusGAF thread, Aussie gaming news used to fall off the front page pretty quickly causing a lot of people to miss news that was potentially a big deal to a small number of people. Unless that thread veered into talking about beer which would keep it on the front page for longer.
The CBD didn't cop much flooding overall. Some buildings that are the in the very low areas. 95% of the CBD is back and operational. Its a little quiet as there aren't many at the shops and what not, but just about everyone will be back at work today.jambo said:Is it really empty still? I haven't really heard much about the CBD, everything on TV has been reporters wandering through suburban homes.
Don't you work in a Net Cafe or something in the city?Bernbaum said:CBD is a congested mess of council buses, clean-up trucks and TV news crews. Looks like maybe 3/4 of the workforce is back to work.
Friend of mine used to work in a net cafe in the mall. Can't remember what it was called, but you had to go up some stairs to get to it.giri said:Don't you work in a Net Cafe or something in the city?
Anyway, the bunkers been sold! i had no idea they were even in trouble, but yeah, they folded about 2 months ago.
So bizzare!

The local net Cafe's, if they were ever going to survive, needed to promote more internet cafe competition. ie. one cafe vs another sort of thing. Giving people a reason to go there other than "mum doesn't see me leet skillz, so won't let me play at home".Agyar said:I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
