Don't give me that "no time" malarky.

I suppose it depends what you work as. I do programming which sucks time like a vaccuum. The last cartoon I did was this, excuse the roughness:

Holy shit A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHERS. Nice one!!

I do all my comics during my lunch break or after work, mostly during the lunch break while everyone else plays games or socialises or relaxes.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Valve should re-print HL2: Raising the Bar and offer it exclusively via their store. I can't find it anywhere, excluding rip-off merchants on Amazon.

I have the urge to simply download a PDF of the book, but I'd prefer a physical copy.

Bulletstorm, as of an hour in, seems really, really great. I posted about it in the actual thread, but long story short it understands that the problem with linear shooters isn't that you fire a gun and move down directed pathways, it's that they're unimaginative on a mechanical level.

You know when you are watching Mad Men and you can't tel if January Jones is a really good actress ora really bad one? I think it's the latter. Her character in Unkown is just Betty Draper.

Indeed. Although I did enjoy seeing her
totally go off the rails
in Mad Men.

Lately I've really enjoyed seeing morally grey characters have bad shit thrown at them and seeing them deal with it in morally reprehensible ways. The latest season Being Human (UK) seems to be going in this direction. Love it.

I don't think Jones is a very good actor in that I don't think she can do a wide range of characters, but she is absolutely perfect as Betty in Mad Men.

Can't wait for Season 5.

Good to hear, Rez. I have quite a stack of games to trade in tomorrow (when I am out buying warm stuff for my holidays), and Bulletstorm still sounds interesting.

Just played a few hours of Killzone with my brother. Botzone, taking turns to shoot and get shot. I appreciate that severe criticism is being registered in the OT, but the game seems great to me.

One thing, though. In the campaign, in the jungle, I detect and report to my CO "a huge military build-up". OK, it's not really that huge at all, but something described as such would not in a sane cosmos be approached or attacked by a single grunt.

Second playthrough of ME1 = still fun. I haven't done a second playthrough of a game since, I don't know. Sonic and Knuckles?

Renegade FemShep is awesome. First runthrough I ran with Garrus and Wrex, this time I'm rolling as Anderson's Angels (FemShep, Ashley and Tali). It's actually ridiculously effective. I'm doing any and all sidequests I can find (with some help with the Mass Effect wiki) and actually finding it really fun.

As much as the Wii gets its fair share of criticism for whoring itself out to the mindless, non-gaming masses, I must admit that I've nice to have a system that both of my sister's are excited about playing with me.

Sure, I'd rather be finishing off Just Cause 2 or some other game in my backlog but it's very nice to actually share something I love doing with my family members. As usual, though, I've woken up to Wii-arm. It. Hurts.

how old are they?

Older than me. 41 and 43.

41 sister has shown small amounts of interest in a couple of games (games like LBP, SMG, etc - usually something that's visually unique and not dudebros) but has never actually asked to play anything. It's usually that I throw her the controller and then she plays for a while. 43 sister has never, ever, ever, ever, ever shown any interest in games, but spent a good hours of so Wii Sporting by herself yesterday afternoon. Both of them played for most of the afternoon by themselves.

The arsehole part of me wanted them off my system so that I could play other stuff but the rest of me thought it was cool.

Nintendo are geniuses.

Hello Untold. :p
I was waiting for this lol.. I went and it was one of the most boring games of Nrl I have watched, slow, both teams very sloppy. I guess it is trial match but only exciting thing that happened was the half time show and the intermittent fights.

Planet_JASE, it sounds like your Wii is fairly new... Have you taken it online yet? Or was your first Wii Shop use within the last 30 days still? If so, make sure you utilise the Wii Ambassador Program, where you can reward someone for helping you get online, and get a reward for yourself too. I'd be very happy to serve as your helper.

Both you and the person that helps you will receive 500 Nintendo points to spend on the Wii Shop. That's equivalent to $7.50 each and is enough for a NES VC game.

To do the process, just follow these steps:

  1. Set up the Internet and access the Wii Shop.
  2. On the front page of the shop, there will be a button at the bottom-left for the Wii Ambassador Promotion, click it.
  3. Select the big "Person who was helped" button on the right.
  4. Enter in your helper's Wii Number. Mine is 0046 1341 3634 4230.
  5. Answer three survey questions (For the question that asks how old your helper is, I'm 30).
  6. Exit the Wii Shop and go to the Wii Message Board (the button at the bottom-right of the channels screen).
  7. Click the option to Create a Message.
  8. Click the Address Book and you should see the number for your Wii.
  9. Message your helper (via PM for me) the Wii's number so they can finish the process by repeating with the "Person who helped" button instead.

Edit: Now, I just have to resist the urge to post again immediately to make this a triple set of double posts :p.

I was waiting for this ;P Unfortunately I bought the Wii before Christmas, and probably took a look at the Wii store not long after that. Had I been a member, I would have hit you up but unfortunately had no way of contacting you about it. Does it matter if I just went to the Wii store but did not buy anything? Does it count? Have we both missed out on our untold riches?

Heh. Yeah, 30 days after you accept the agreement to access the shop is the deadline for registering your helper. We both missed out.

If there are any other newly enabled juniors out there that just found out about the promotion or any others that just realised they'd qualify, then post or PM me. It's still a little way off for me, but those Nintendo-published SNES and N64 games would be fun to receive (I need to help 8 more people).

Bugger. Like I said, as soon as I got the Wii I thought of you but had no way of contacting you. I didn't know how you'd react getting a random person contacting you via Wii.

Come to think of it, would probably would have just accepted it and taken the points.

Hmmmmm.... :(

I can see how you would find it boring as a Panthers supporter, though you guys did get a few line breaks up our left wing, which I'm hoping will be addressed. I agree there was a lot of sloppiness, though I think that can be attributed to it being a trial. I think they were seeing how far they could push their offense in different ways.

Outside of and probably because of that, there were some brilliant plays. You can't forget the big hits, because there were a lot of them. The fights were exciting, mainly born out of cheap shots.

We'll see you again in Round 2. :)

They are indeed showing a lot of promise.

Also, Chris Walker went off injured in the 9th minute. I saw him drop and rip his boot off and was wondering what would have caused him to do that. I read that he dislocated a toe; I didn't even know that was possible.

So I'm having a fucking pain in the arse time with my internet at the moment.

So after an issue we had with our wireless router (connected to the non-wireless 2203C modem), I've tried to connect both my computer and my laptop to the cable modem directly using two different ethernet cables, but despite the cable modem claiming to have a link and claiming to be connected to the internet, all I can get from my side is "limited or no connectivity" as it cannot renew an IP address.

Connected the new wireless router we have to it and it refuses to find "ADSL" line. Yet once I've actually been able to make it work — it allows my computer to connect to the internet, but at the same time I'm then unable to load up the router's setting screen! It's as if I somehow trick the router to just pass through without any checks from the modem or router. It's fucking WEIRD.

Our Router is a Billion 7300N. In actuality this one is brand new — we had the exact same model for a few months, but a few days ago it just completely died, refusing to get power. After that I connected my computer directly to the modem, which works at first, but now it refuses to do anything. That's when all this stuff began. Prior to this it works fine.

Have been trying to get help from Whirlpool.net.au but thought I'd try here too.

The IP address is: 192.168.1.2

default gateway is: 192.168.1.254

DCHP is enabled.

And now things get weirder. Connecting directly to the modem I wasn't able to access 192.168.100.1 (the cable modem's page) but if I connected via the router which can be connected to the modem, I could! Which is completely ridiculous!

Anyone else had this sort of problem before, because I wish I could fix this asap :/

May be a dumb question but have you tried a hard reset of the thing? Find the little hole at the back of the unit and stick a paperclip up it. Will restore the unit to factory default settings.

Hrm. Just learned my parents are going to give me one of their businesses (a salon in Moonah). Can't wait to drive that into the ground.

Would, but we have zero access to the internal workings of the Cable Modem. "Feature is not enabled", Optus worry about all that stuff.

I did press it once, and it seems that by some sort of miracle it's... half worked. My computer is logged onto the net with it right now via the wireless router, but the router still claims that it's got no internet, and any other thing I want to connect to it will not work. Once I try to re-bridge the connections I have, it will stop working.

Fuck.

evlcookie

but ever so delicious
If it's a cable modem, Don't they essentially have very little config pages? For example, if you wanted to connect a new computer to the modem you have to actually power the modem off, plug the new computer into a Ethernet port and then turn the modem back on?

Has anyone else been playing Cities in Motion? I've only had it a few hours but it's pretty great so far.

And the Vics are smashing Tasmania in the Ryobi Cup final. Wonderful.

Neck and neck aside from the 6 wickets down which could be Tassies down fall (hopefully).

I recommend everyone grab a copy of Bulletstorm from their local renting-stuff-out store for 6 hours of fun. I'd also recommend it on a steam half price sale as it looks fantastic in motion on the glorious personal computing platform.

Aon is now beating me on Shadow of the Colossus. I am slowly coming to my senses that I don't actually want these games. But if it looks like I'm going to win ICO, I'm totally going to grab Shadow again. >_>

Those 6 wickets are massive though. Vics have still got Hodge it, but Tas have lost Cosgrove and Bailey.

Now Hodge has taken the stick to them, it's almost Vics' game.
