If you can organise it, stop off at Florence for the full Assassin's Creed tour. It's actually a really nice city too. Even with your normal ticket to Venice, you ought to be able to get off and back on at Florence without paying extra... unless it's an overnight train, then forget about it.

Yeah, Florence is later on the itinerary.

I think for us blacks sold more, Apart from the 64GB whites left there were maybe a handful of others waiting to be sold. Of course, that was really just "Available" stock without allocating to the fuckton of backorders that are in the system, so I'm sure the 64GB whites will go shortly.

Did you pick up a case? Did you see anyone else buying one? I could swear they sold stuff all cases, It just didn't seem to be a item people were interested in. I think we got at least twice as many cases as iPads but most were happy to pick up just the iPad and maybe a cheapo 3rd party one instead of the official apple one or go without a case completely.

I look forward to monday, To see what's left over and then having to go through stock to make sure it's correct. There's a good chance some serials were invoiced out incorrectly so that should be fun.

I do feel sorry for the retail guys though, even though it was only 2 hours of work, They looked to be getting hammered.
I got a baby blue case from Apple. Didn't notice the pricetag until I lined up at the register and stickershock set in. Absurdly priced and I didn't see anyone else in store take one up to the register although it looked like a few colours on the shelf had sold out.

Was hoping my new toy would make me hip and trendy, but there I was, shirtless in bed as I started setting the thing up on my Mac. If Steve Jobs can be proud of anything, it's for developing a product that makes its owner feel guilty enough to go and get dressed.

3G sold out at my store when I reached the front. Whites were selling faster than blacks.

I can now say that I waited in line on day one for an Apple product. Fuck doing that shit ever again.
So how was it? Meet any cool people? Any war stories? Was Ricki Lee there?

You know what, I think I'm done with the conventional retail experience. I used to love going to the shops and looking at and occasionally buying crap I don't need. Bargain hunting for games is pretty redundant too. Even getting the day one perch just isn't worth it.

From here on out, it's just gonna be clothes and groceries. Internet shopping forever.

Pretty much, but I kind of miss when I could walk into a game store and not know every product they had. Same with electronics, if I go to a store I know what I want and just go thee and get it.

Good man, saves yourself both time and money. I love my internets for all the first world problems it has given me.

Means you are less likely to be unhappy with your purchase now since you are better informed. Go checkout a book store or some other hobby where you don't have critical knowledge so you can get that same feeling on adventure. There are soooo many books it is impossible to know all of them.

Geelong. Epic win.

PS. Internet's royally pissing me off ATM. Gone from getting around 6mbit/s to under 1. Thank fuck I'm getting rid of TPG and going cable next week.

Talking to female assistants is the best part of clothes shopping. You've got maybe a 2-5 minute window in which to strike up a chat, they've got you in a position of vulnerability (what, with you having to get naked in a room meters away from the counter) and once you're done with your purchase that's it - you walk away so there's nothing to lose. Great practice for, oh I don't know, mustering up the courage talking to randoms on the train
nudges evlcookie in the ribs, winks eye, and stamps on his foot

Plus there's usually a bunch of mirrors around so you can get a real good solid look at her boobs without getting sprung.

Running NCable, 30mbps but still drops down under 1mbps every now and then. We just cop a shitty deal here compared to other countries, a mate of mine is still struggling to cope since coming back from South Korea after their meganet.

Real men stare them right in the eye and say, "What up girls?". Also I love working at Uni for this very reason.

That's who I'm getting it through. My brother has been with them for yonks but they only *just* announced a 1TB plan at a decent price, so... I've jumped. Given I live in the same block of units as my brother I hope it doesn't impact on our bandwidth, but it doesn't matter. As long as it shits all over what I currently have, I'll be happy.

TB? Jeez I'm on the 50GB on peak, 50GB off plan and that is the perfect amount. Do you stream a lot of media? Even with my music and TV show/movie habits I don't go over.

1080p porn scoffs at your meager plan.

(as someone who only gets 5gig a month, I can't imagine being able to potentially fill a 1terrabyte drive each month. That's.... crazy.

High-def movies, music, TV and Steam are my vices. I'd rather go high and drop down than go low and find I have to buy a handful of overpriced data packs. Going to see how I go the first few months.

Sooo glad I stick to low def porn, some things were never meant to be seen in perfect clarity...
Balls. I am talking about ball bags. Also herpes.

I'm on the $70 a month unlimited plan. 50 on, 50 off with offpeak being 1am-7am. If I go over it is shaped to dialup for the rest of the month (which really only means doing one website at a time). I keep up to date with tv, movies and music along with the odd Steam download during offpeak (one benefit of a baby is that you are always awake!). I only download 700mb rips of Movies though, still don't see the need for bluray unless it is something like Inception/Avatar/Planet Earth.

Fairly certain I have to sleep in my car tonight. A mate recently moved out to his own place so we organised this weekend, but now his brother moved in tonight so there's no spare bedrooms. Said mate randomly bailed about an hour ago, so I rang him to ask what's going on with the sleeping arrangements, and he says to just sleep on the lounge.

Fair enough, but when I rock up I realise he has no lounge to sleep on.

I might just down 5 or 6 shots and pass out somewhere.

Edit: Haha, as per my post here, Vivid Wireless have blocked access to Usenet servers. Wankers.

Edit 2: Clarity.

Pfft. Usenet + SSL = Victory.

Fake edit: For some reason I associated Vivid Wireless with Vivid. You have no idea what things ran through my head when I read your post:

*Vivid are an ISP now?!?
*I downloaded one of their movies from Usenet the other day!
*Eh, their movies are pretty crap anyway, to be honest.
...and so on.

We use Woolworths Homeshop. If, like me, you hate grocery shopping, it's the best thing ever. Fewer impulse purchases, and the most difficult thing is checking off everything that you ordered, and putting it away. I gladly pay the $10-15 picking and delivery fee, which is pretty steep; considering I don't have to waste 1-2 hours of my time though, I figure it works out.

Also, I just realised that the last clothes and shoes I bought were via the Internet.

Man, that's steep. I'm paying a hundred bucks for 1TB and unlimited Australia-wide phone (landline, mobile) calls. I would've dumped the landline if it wasn't included.

So MX don't have an editor?

Best deal I have seen down here, at least it is usually fast (30mbps) and I can't see myself ever neededing a Terabyte a month. At least not until the PS4/etc for huge DD.

Congratulations Shady! Was it a painless process?

Should I buy the Mega Drive pack or NWN2?

Both are $10.
If you liked NWN grab NWN2 since it comes with the superior expansion pack that makes it worthwhile. I would recommend picking up the Sega collection on a console, I got it for under $20 so you should be able to find it out there somewhere. Feels better with a controller in hand too.

SInce you wanna spend $10 you could also look at The Witcher which is a must play, just re-installed tonight for a save game run for the sequel. Ghostbusters is also $10 and is a lot of fun.

In conclusion; buy The Witcher.
if you already own it gift it to a friend to show how much you care

cods: Yeah, it's steep... but it's cable. The plan I'm picking is 1TB for $130 a month. Sure, it's more expensive than the $70 TPG I'm on now, but it'll be a shitload more reliable AND I can get rid of my phone line completely.

The Neighborhood Cable plans aren't priced the best, but their 1TB is surprisingly well-priced amongst ADSL plans. The next step down (400GB) is $100.

I'm on Optus Cable...

Edit: Oh yeah, definitely get NWN2 if you like those sorts of games. I played through it all and Hordes of the Underdark and the other expansion too. Great fun.

You know, it's not about neededing a terabyte a month, but more about having the bandwidth there so you can do whatever you want without having to worry about being capped for a few days or a week. No worrying about having to download XBLA games overnight because I might not have enough until the end of the month, I can download demoes without the wife complaining she can't access Flickr fast enough, I can stream 900kbps music channels all day, I can watch HD movies on Youtube, all without worrying about how it'll affect my usage for the remainder of the month.

Agreed on your last point. Your first? I'm in Geelong :) (and I'm single and work in IT. $130 really isn't that much).

NWN2 is pretty good. The first half or so of NWN2 OC is boring, but the rest is ok and the first expansion has one of the best stories in any wrpg.

I've never played NWN1. Me buying it would just be another attempt to get into D&D style WRPGs. I always want to, but I never can. I couldn't even get out of the first dungeon in Baldur's Gate II ._.

I already own The Witcher.

It's a lot easier than BG2. Dragon Age Origins is probably a better starting point though, if you haven't played that. If you finish that and feel like you'd like the same sort of game with more complicated systems, NWN2 is a good next step.

codswallop said:
Shit. Really? I seem to have forgotten the name then, but the first NWN2 expansion was really good.
Yeah, Mask of the Betrayer is what you're thinking of. It's really good.

I don't see how even the staunchest of Labor supporters could vote for them after the billions of wasted dollars their juggling of leaders has cost us. They need some time on the sideline.

I don't know anything about NSW politics, but my uncle who lives in Sydney said Labor's election campaign was pretty much "Don't make the margin too large" lol.

If you don't need to print photos or colour for any reason, a cheap laser is is great. I grabbed a cheap monochrome Xerox laser printer and it's awesome, was like $99 and $50 for extra cartridges (rated at 3,000 pages).

Holy shit. I'm in Warnambool for totally unrelated reasons, and they had one black 32GB 3G iPad 2 left in Target, which I was browsing through for DVDs.

Fucking score.

yes- in the end- it didn't like my USB hub. connected direct to the computer it was fine.
Connected to my wife's computer via dell monitor, it was also fine. Hubs are fine and dandy until someone gets hurt.
