35?
I'm thinking that he meant 69, but who has their board settings set to 50 posts per page. :D

*100 posts/page FTW*

Also, in AusGAF news, I recently went to see GNW live this week... Interesting to see how many shots of me there were. (sat in the front row mind you :lol)

I too am confused.

Also, could somebody tell me why I got up in the middle of the night and started writing a 1500 word essay on introductory economics instead of looking at porn like a normal person? I feel like I've taken crazy pills here.

I'm looking to get a new TV but is it worth buying from overseas? I've heard because of the dollar being so good people are buying things like TV's from America but wouldn't that cost a shit ton in shipping?

If I did get one here, any idea on what would be a nice one that isn't crazy expensive?

If it's teaching the best stuff comes out while you're walking down the corridor to the classroom. :lol

While that has happened to me in the past (in the car driving to school), I'm not sure there's any fantastic way of teaching empirical formulae.

From what I hear, it's been at that stage for a few years now. I know someone who was being considered at the ground floor but got screwed around for like 6 months about it so moved on.

May not be related.

EA has been in melbourne for a while now, but i don't think they were or have been a studio. If they do open one up down here that would be nice.

Bernie, where's your hate filled PC explanation? Or can't you be bothered since there aren't any real pitchforks? :(

Both Vanquish and Enslaved have completely slipped under my radar. Reviews listed on Metacritic seem to point to them both being worth my time and money, anyone know much about them?

Hahaha! I started writing a post on it last night- it was a bit overwrought and contrived so I might not post it. In short, I haven't given up on PC gaming, rather I've just pulled out of the hardware arms race.

Oh yea that's fine. The hardware side of things can be a bit frustrating at times. You don't need the most awesome PC to enjoy PC gaming though. I'm still on a ATi 4850 and a dual core intel and i play games at 1920x1200 without any major issues. Can i turn on AA/AF and other random things? Not really, but i've never cared for them either. I'm usually too busy playing games to stop and stare at textures or other silly things like that.

I don't intend to upgrade until next year sometime, if i can afford it.

The arms race has been kinda ho-hum for the last two or three years anyway. I want to be in it, but everything out there now is really boring, and the AMD 6xxx series is just more of the same. There have been power savings which is nice, but no decent performance gains.

Ugh. Just bought another (shut up, it's for online) PS3 on eBay, but I can't pick it up yet because he can't remove the HDD that's currently in it to put in the one it was advertised with... one of the screws is stripped in the caddy :lol

I get my bike this Saturday unless something horrible happens between now and then. Fuck Yeah.

BUY TRAINYARD people who have an iPhone/iPod/probably even on iPad. Favourite puzzle game so far by a wide margin.

With the cost of shipping I can't imagine that being a reasonable alternative. What are your requirements (budget, size, viewing content and conditions)?

Dog training gaf!

I had a quick google and considering I don't know the breed of the dog (its a chihuahua jack russel almost..) I don't know what to do.

I'm just wondering if you guys know a time when it's best to start taking them to classes or teaching them seriously. I mainly ask because I'm only here 1 or 2 days a week, but in the last week the dogs gotten a lot "jumpier" (not scared) but just goes mental, flipping around like a moose on e. is this just general puppy behavior? or should i start teaching him the hard lessons of life now. Ie if you're caught staring at a chicks boobs just get up, keep looking in that direction, then walk behind her and straighten a painting on the wall.

I'm going to buy the Rock Band Keyboard from US.

Where should I get it from?

Barnes and Noble will sell it for $115 including shipping. They are going to start shipping tomorrow and someone on the Rock Band forums from New Zealand said it only took 3 days to arrive (considering shipping is $35, it better be quick), so it will get here by the time the game is out.

Amazon will only cost around $102, but they say they don't start shipping until Oct 26th.

I'd like it to be here by next Thursday since I have four days of leave which I plan to do nothing on but play Rock Band 3.

Anyone know if Amazon are shipping?

You can, but:

- My MIDI keyboard is oooooooooold (like 80s) so it probably wouldn't work.
- The MIDI Adapter that they're selling already costs $70
- The chances of me actually finding said adapter is probably very low
- The adapter doesn't get released in America until the end of November, so somehow I doubt we're getting it at the end of October like the EB website says

I ended up going with B&N. Peace of mind.

If you're looking to do training classes, I believe you can start doing them from about 6 months or a little older. Generally speaking, the thing you need to establish early is the hierarchy in the household and the dog's place at the bottom. It sounds harsh but as a puppy, it will put a lot of energy into testing the boundaries and trying to establish its place in the "pack" and if you don't set those boundaries firmly, you end up with a disobient dog. There's lots of different ways of doing this, which the training can help with but generally speaking you need to establish rules and routine, then stick to them. The RSPCA run good puppy training schools, which after completion you can use to enrol in higher level training including some dog sport stuff. What you'll learn is that these training schools are actually more about training the owner than the pet, as its your behaviour and actions that shape the dog's obedience and ability.

Anyone read anywhere how long Red Dead Redemption Zombie Nightmare DLC is supposed to take for the single player campaign? It doesn't sound like it's long but it seems like they're positioning it as another Lost and Damned or Ballad of Gay Tony.

Who was the other person that bought the Audio Technica ATH-A700s? Hamchan? How do you find they fit? I've been using them a little lately and they feel really loose but I'm not sure if its just by design or they're too big. If I shake my head they move a bit and I feel like they drop further down than they should but it's hard to say as my last pair of headphones were quite tightly fitted.

I think andy (steam chat) ordered them from amazon yesterday. Not sure if anyone else actually owns them, So he might be able to give you his impressions early next week.

Vanquish OT turned into a turdfest, and I feel like more people should be drinking the kook-aid with me.

Who else wants to hang out and have a tasty sip of hype?

I preordered the game from Zavvi. I'm pretty excited for it. Played the demo again the other day.

I am pumped for Vanquish but I'm stopping myself from ordering it until I've played Enslaved, which just turned up yesterday.

Good choice. You'll be able to finish it before the weekend.

I sortof want to finish Heavenly Sword first as well, as I started it and am actually enjoying it a lot. Perhaps after Enslaved I'll play God of War 3 as well. So many games.

Heavenly Sword is short and easy and solidly entertaining for all the parts where you aren't actually doing things with the controller.

That said, the final boss is an absolute cuntmonster (just check the 'Bosses you couldn't beat' thread in Gaming-side). I earge you to try beating him once on your own for funsies and then googling to find out the one combo you need to spam in order to beat him. Trust me, I just saved you hours of valuable time and a 24-pack of Panadol.

So far the bosses have been easy, just need to dodge and counter by pumping out combos in the appropriate stance when they attack. Does this actually change with the last boss?
