You're a stronger man than me. I'd have to be a smart arse.

I've actually called game store clerks on their bullshit after overhearing conversations. Yes. My ego is important to me :(
Last night, good sir, your visage did appear on my audio-visual telecommunications device. I know it was already mentioned in here earlier, but congratulations on the award.

This will hopefully help towards the ego.

If some goes down there, please take with you: a porno, Fight club DVD, American Psycho novel, a bottle of alcohol and a packet of cigarettes. Ask him why, as an adult, my government shows faith in me being able to chose the 'adult' experiences that I wish to have except when it comes to games? By the time I'm 18 the government demonstrates it's faith in me by letting me chose if I wish to smoke, drink, watch porn, read adult books, vote, drive and legally calls me an adult.

What is so special/devious/deceptive about video games that makes the government take that decision out of my hands?

So I can help chose the course of the country via voting but playing Mortal Kombat is probably way too much for me?

On a similar note my kopy of a game I ordered has shipped. I think I'll be waiting a few weeks but we'll see if it arrives in one piece.

There's a Project Runway game? Any idea if it's Kinect-based?

Oh, I've only *just* found out that Portal 2 on PS3 lets you download the PC version as well. Guess I'll be picking that up, too!

Wii only. Hmmmmm... waggle based model simulator.

I think I'm talking myself into buying this game...

I still can't believe I flew through 17/19 levels of the original Portal so quickly. I still enjoyed it and only had to look up a hint once (that's in level 18... I didn't realise there was a switch there :/) so I'm definitely tempted to get Portal 2 now. The fact that it *isn't* zomg20hrslong is actually appealing.

PS. Don't stress, Gaz, I like you. I'll kill you last.

I finished Portal 2 in around 6 hours, it definitely felt a lot meatier and like a full game.

Definitely going to replay it though, see if I can solve some of the puzzles differently. And then there's co-op of course!

Pure terror is having a 45 GB project comprising 3 months of work go disappearing from your computer.

found you, you cheeky bastard

Nothing has sent a chill of giddy goosebumps up my spine quite like hearing GladOS' voice for the first time in Portal 2. Fuck me the dialogue is amazing in that game. Valve totally understand what beast they have and know their shit alot better than almost anyone.

Man oh man all this talk of Portal 2 is killing me. But I have other stuff unopened I need to play first before I can even contemplate buying it.

Still. Holding. Fast.

Fuck those other games, none of them will be as good as Portal 2.

Apparently Valve is now giving golden potato owners giftable copies of games in the complete pack including Portal 2. Valve redeemed.

So how long is Portal 2 roughly?

I beat it on a fairly slow playthrough of 6 hours. By "slow", I mean I spent a bit of time dicking around looking around the areas for secrets and tried to see how often I could break the game by getting intentionally stuck or by throwing away critical items.

You could beat it in about 5 if you rushed through it. Less if you knew how to solve the puzzles before-hand.

I'll see if I can time my developer commentary runthrough when I do that later today (or during the holidays)

Yeah I'm going to do a second run to listen to the commentary and also
to find the Borealis references that people have mentioned.

I'm gonna have to finish the first Portal so I can join in the Portal 2 happiness.
I started it last night (although I admit I had played a few levels on a previous attempt) and was on the second last level after about two hours or so. One or two really good sessions should see most people complete (and enjoy) it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm close to the end.

Might try and wrap it up tonight.

Cheapest Portal 2 price in a retail outlet that I can walk into in the next hour or so.

Edit: oh, I should say: for PS3

How much are they selling the PS3 version for?

I can understand people in America buying it because the prices are probably the same, but here the Steam price is probably 50% lower than retail.

/spent more time e-stalking the girl in front if me than listening to the lecturer

Waited for her to post on a forum she was on, refreshed right away, and used "most recent post" features to get her profile name.

She then posted on reddit, which I used to confirm the alias.

God I'm creepy.

A life tip. It's not uncommon for people to do these things, but rare to publicly talk about them.

HOLY SHIT MAN. This did make me laugh, though in an uneasy sort of way.

Also, I just finished Portal 2. I loved every (sometimes frustrating) minute of it. Some puzzles were brutal I thought, though I found myself feeling quite smart and stupid at the same time after realising the solutions.

Puzzles aside, the writing is brilliant and it had me in fits of laughter on numerous occasions. Those who haven't played it yet have a lot to look forward to and may I suggest not making it a rush to the finish; this game is something to be savoured.

Now, for some co-op. Anyone enough of a sucker for punishment to want to play with me?

I can’t fail you, Wednesday.

Miss my train this morning > run into an old friend after getting off a later train.

Forgot to pack lunch > work puts on a free one.

Double book gym session with work meeting > earlier session at gym has loads of free equipment and is Tn’A central.

Considering smashing an office window with furniture and seeing what good comes of that.

Having done a fair amount of e-stalking myself, it always amazes me how often people put really detailed personal stuff on their blogs without setting it to private.

I would usually just keep glancing over at whatever particular girl had my attention with a smile on my face and waited for them to notice and smile back. Your way is certainly more... systematic. I'll give you that.
