I thought Left 4 Dead 2 was refused classification due to the frequency of high impact violence, which appears to fit under RC.Clipper said:The only things that were banned for the RC guidelines were Risen and other games with positive uses of realistic drugs. These issues are easily worked around by the developers, so leaving the RC rules in place is a perfectly acceptable compromise if you ask me.

HolyCheck said:the most annoying thing here is I DONT DRIVE
but require ID with my address on it
ugh
the guy even said to me "we can book you an appointment at such and such location near work, if you can drive to it during lunch?" I asked when it was, he said in 2 months. so i said after the 3 months thus making it illegal? he just went silent.
even a day time appointment near my apartment isnt available until mid september. wth is this. fjsdhfsdjhfi
And I cant change my enrolment to vote to my victorian address because their website is broken and tells me my SA license ID is WRONG.
so now i cant vote.
Choc said:i dunno getting booked for 62 in a 60 in victoria is kinda fucked as is losing 3 points for it
in NSW if you are between 60 and 70 you only lose 1 point now

giri said:For the most part they can't/wont do anything, as long as you have an appointment to change the license. Also, if you for any reasong go back home out of state, the count restarts from when you get back.
Ergh, in vic you can, and do. I've seen it on their print outs. I review a lot of them for their insurance, and to justify some fines guys will send in copies of their breach notices. It's stupid.Omi said:You wouldn't get done for 2ks over, and nor is it a 3 demerit point offense.
Oh.
Hi choc.
HolyCheck said:yeah but its only if i go back to live isnt it? even just for a month?
not pop by for a weekend.
I cant really book an appointment to take a day off, I just started a new job I dont want to be booking days off right away aghh

In QLD they're not allowed to set up a camera within 50M of a incline or decline over a certin degree.user_nat said:Even more stupid is getting done for going a few Ks over immediately after coming up a hill. Pretty easy to do..
It's stated to be only gratuitous sexual fetishes that are covered. Fetishes in the manner of bestiality or self mutilation. The ones that are illegal.giri said:It's only illegal, because it's been RC. Not because of any other law. If it breaks no other law, who are they to presume to set additional standards? Particularly if they're going to put in an R18 classification.
Partaking in sexual fetsishes isn't illegal (within obvious limits) so why should the images of them be if they're restricted to adults?
Child Porn, obviously illegal, most of the rest? entirely not (the stuff about showing how to build certain bombs instructions on how to commit crime is also).
Which website? If the Victorian ones, then screw them and do it via the AEC instead. It filters down to your state and local governments too.HolyCheck said:And I cant change my enrolment to vote to my victorian address because their website is broken and tells me my SA license ID is WRONG.

To be fair, thats not the worst thing.Omi said:If that is the case, utterly ridiculous. Although I have been done for 105kph on Eastlink. Which is also fucking ridiculous.
As for the 3 point thing though, choc is wrong, <10kph in Vic is 1 point.
Not sure what the incline of this hills is, but in the picture on the ticket my car is only about 10-20m from the hill.giri said:In QLD they're not allowed to set up a camera within 50M of a incline or decline over a certin degree.
Or didn't used to be able too.
Don't worry, as stated, you'll be fine as long as you have the appointment. It's like enrolling to vote. Despite it being compulsory, nobody in Australia has ever been successfully prosecuted for failing to enrol to vote. If they were to call you up for it, all charges must be dropped the second you submit your form for enrolment. Thus, they don't really bother. Antony Green made a comment about this in a blog post recently. The same rule applies to changing your licence. If you are clearly trying to get it changed at the earliest possible convenience, they are not going to charge you.HolyCheck said:yeah but its only if i go back to live isnt it? even just for a month?

Appeal if it's recent, i know several people who have and most have gotten off their tickets. Though i don't know what the overall hitrate for appeals passing, from anecdotal evidence, it appears relatively high.user_nat said:Not sure what the incline of this hills is, but in the picture on the ticket my car is only about 10-20m from the hill.
Of course the camera could be 50m away, not really sure where it was.
At least you only get 1 point for less than 13kph over in QLD.
Bring on MAGoogLEV!Gazunta said:The sooner Google release their cars that take care of all the driving for you the better. Manually making sure you're always at the right speed, in the right lane, watching everything is old fashioned bullshit. Why not get some kerosene for the front lights and a crank for the starter motor while we're at it.
I get SO GOD DAMN BORED driving to and from work every day. Mind numbingly bored. That's 2+ hours of my day that is completely wasted. I can't work. I can't read. It's just boring as hell paying attention to non-automated real world junk.
And no public transport really isn't an option. I want my Google car.
