Yeah can't say I'm surprised he got banned, most of his posts were fairly trollish/fanboyish. At least the ones I saw which was from a fairly varied number of threads.

Hopefully this is a kick up the backside for them not to be so complacent, though I guess the price drop guarantees massive sales around the holiday anyway.

The Wii U's pricing and launching schedule will be interesting.

I really don't know to what extent Nintendo can just snap their fingers and start changing shit up, what with dev lead times and the like, but hopefully this might kick-start them into doing something.

They would have expected this drop, although perhaps not quite so high. It's no real surprise. They are selling a newly launched console at a loss. This is something Nintendo doesn't do, so the share holders will react accordingly. If Nintendo's plan works and they manage to kill the Vita hype for its launch, then they'll easily make that stock price back.

It's probably the best time to be buying Nintendo stock, if you feel that the impending 3DS soft relaunch around Christmas and Wii U will be a success.

To be fairly fair, the will may have sold well, but they kinda screwed up recently. Wiiu being pushed out early to try and fix what went wrong there (Online and no 3rd party support) and 3ds was always over priced >.< but selling 700k in a quarter world wide is pretty damn awful...

their big problem is that no one knows the 3ds is a new handheld system, and most people think that the wiiu is just a new controller for the current wii.

My single banning for posting an Onion article as real. Ulterior motive was to use the Onion's 'Conspiracy theorist convinces Neil Armstrong Moon Landing was faked' to weed out the conspiracy theorists in OT and wind up the nutters. Totally justified ban.

In good company though - Vook has been banned for fighting the good fight, and Rez has been banned at least once, most recently for standing up to Amirox's bullshit.

I'm thinking about writing an article, but seriously I don't know where to start. Basically my current thinking about Nintendo is that now they're a generation behind everyone. Even the 3DS and the Wii U. Now this isn't a power thing, sure they are on that but that doesn't matter unless you're a hardcore gamer, and then you have a PC anyway.

I think that Nintendo were riding the wave of the Wii and DS and instead of following up that success with anything they just kept the wave at full tilt. Didn't drop the price, didn't drop game prices or make new games - just kept selling Wii Fit, Wii Play and Wii Sports over and over. The problem with Nintendo is they didn't do ANYTHING.

Now though they have and it's all been hurried together and now Nintendo is ignoring their arch nemesis the internet again. Now the internet is different in 2011, I'm not just talking about 'Xbox Live' type online, though that is needed. It really is.

I'm talking about 'social'. Now Nintendo define social as people coming over and playing games around a TV. Now that still happens and can be explored and embraced - but there's the other side of social - It's Facebook, Twitter, Email, sharing things to my friends, connecting and talking to my friends online. Most of my friends don't even live in my state. How can I play games with them? On Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, Facebook. Starfox 64 just came out and I have to be in the same room as everyone? Fuck that. I'm 25 - organizing all my friends for that crap just doesn't happen.

Basically... something like that. Problem is, Nintendo has 99 problems but a bitch aint one. I can't fucking cover them all (region locking, shitty and slow online stores, no accounts on downloads etc).

And for all the bad Nintendo do, all you have to do is give me some Super Mario 3D Land or Mario Kart 7 with online and I'll shut up and enjoy myself. But it doesn't fix any problems.


In other news: What did I get banned for again?

I've been banned twice, once for calling someone the g word very early on (like 2006) and the second time was for suggesting people pm vennt if they want access to neogaf gold last year
