Vook is right though, teh days of a system only playing games is over. Can you tweet from a 3ds? no, facebook? no.

this is what the casuals care about now. the DS hit the market at the exact right tiem, Nintendo will not replicate the success without huge change.

And the naming confusion is exactly right. And teh Wii U has the exact same issue

its the first time Nintendo has not ever totally changed the name of a product, and therefore people are not used to it so think its the same or an addon.

I reckon people have bought 3DS games thinking they are for DS.

I understand this is different though, espeicially how often the DS was updated with new models, DS Lite,i,xl and now 3ds it's not hard to understand how people not into gaming would confuse it as just a new expensive model. Especially when you see those pictures of it sharing shelf space.

Ninty need to rebrand the Wii U as the Revolution, add Twitter and FB support to the 3DS and start getting the 3rd parties on board hardcore!

That's a pure case of a marketing brand. Essentially the name changes across the products, the prefix doesn't. They've trained the market to expect yearly updates that don't (usually) revolutionize the brand, only refine it.

The 3DS could be seen as a similar iteration except Nintendo haven't marketed it this way. Seriously, if I were a non-gaming person I wouldn't know if the 3DS were an update or new product. I'd have no idea that the 3DS was backward compatible or even know if it were worth updating.

Apple does this form of advertising correctly. They basically shout "IT'S THE SAME, EXCEPT THINNER!!! YOU WILL HAND OVER CASH ON THE 4TH OF NEXT MONTH, BITCHES. DON'T THINK ABOUT WHETHER YOU NEED IT, JUST WORK OUT HOW TO ACQUIRE OUR MONEY!!!"

I felt like Neo in the matrix just now. I had the most messed up uni timetable spread sporadically over 4 days and everything just fell into place. Tuesdays and Fridays off, no more four hour gaps. Pumped.

My worst ever lesson was the last one before my test. Screwed up so many things. Had no trouble with the actual test though.
You'll be fine.

My goal was to take a few Fridays off for driving lessons before my l's expire in December. I have no idea if I can do that now with me moving to malvern for work and it's going to be busy as fuck constantly for many more months.

I think I'm fucked.

I'm 23 and still on my P1s =P

Plenty of mates could drive, plus I was near a great public transport route whilst living at my parents. My ex's were always a little annoyed that they always had to drive, but other than that it was fine. When I moved out of home my new house was a 15 minute walk from the CBD, where I worked and went out to on the weekends so I didn't bother then either.

Then radnomly a couple of years ago I just decided to do it.

I wonder if they expected such a backlash in the stocks though. They would have expecting it to plummet, but 20%?

F1 AUS GAF

The BBC and Sky Sports will broadcast Formula 1 in the UK between 2012 and 2018 under a new rights deal.
The BBC has been the exclusive broadcaster of F1 in the UK since 2009 but its contract with Formula One Management was due to expire after the 2013 season.
Sky Sports will show every race, qualifying session and practice live.
BBC Sport will broadcast half the races live, as well as the qualifying and practice sessions from those races.

does this mean for the Non Live we get shitty AU commentary or does Brundle and Coulthard do the sky feed as well and we can take that?

Also this opens up F1 to being on foxtel through sky (same company)

Japanese executives dont tend to be as... out of touch as western ones. They also dont pay themselves nearly as much compared to the rest of the work force compared to western ones.

Yeah I just saw that in the F1 thread Choc, good and bad could come of this.

On the one side, BBCs coverage is fucking awesome so it would suck if Sky's wasn't as good.

On the flip side, F1s being on Foxtel in HD would be awesome and Sky's coverage could turn out to be great.

its got nothing to do with currency fluctuations else they would have added that in the reports.

In summary, Nintendo lost more money THIS QUARTER than they expect to bring in THIS FINANCIAL YEAR!.
