AusGAF 3.0 - Double the price, region locked and refused classification

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
I was going to ask for suggestions as to what I should cook for tea, but I've decided on curry.

So there's that.

Oh man, when I finally get around to uploading all my Europe photos, I need to put up the one I took at the top of Hitler's Eagles Nest. We could see about 3m ahead.
Yeah, we had a similar thing in Kalambaka (Meteora). We had one day there, and once we ascended to the monasteries in the mountains we were inside a cloud for the entire day. problem was, we had to walk from place to place, a total of about 5-6km and it was in the most miserable drizzle. A real shame because it's a beautiful place... apparently.

You keep your level though, so it'll be easier to get through the beginning.
Yeah, I realise that. But the reason I stopped playing was because I found it too painful. I might try push myself to get back into it before I just give it away. I was enjoying it before that.

I couldn't recommend Dead Rising to anyone unless they try out Case Zero. That was so perfect in giving a low risk idea of if the quirks of a DR game are for you.

Suddenly interested in the new Deus Ex out of nowhere when I've still not gotten around to trying Alice, Shadows of the Damned or Child of Eden.

Slow period for games my ass.

Also looks like I might be at Mana Bar this Saturday

Yeah, Melbourne. I went to the opening too, it's kind of tiny and every photo you see of the place inside is really misleading - but I'm assuming it'll be nicer when it's not absolutely packed to the degree the council is threatening to revoke their liquor license.

Curry + Sour cream = awesome.

Also why do some people call it tea? WHAT DO YOU SAY WHEN YOU WANT ACTUAL TEA?!
Really? Sounds like a way to avoid any spiciness whatsoever. A bit or raita with it is pretty good admittedly, but sour cream?

And coffee is the answer to the second part. Or smoko I guess

You should be banned for having that.

Any Ausgafers been watching the EVO 2011 stream. I really need to put some more practice into street fighter.
Yeah, probably gonna miss the AE finals tomorrow though. Been stream monstering so much instead of actually playing.

Should I get an IPS monitor... or a 120hz monitor... or what >_<?

Too many choices!
I've been kicking this question around for about a year (and since spent the monitor monies on other things lol) so will be keen to read impressions too.

Would be a lot easier to decide if I could see one in person though. No one stocks them here D:

Ambivalent about writers festivals. I revere the great ones (and am making an annual thing of going on holiday specifically for a few of them), but sometimes they burn me up. Mostly the "workshops and masterclasses" side of things, and the more nakedly promotional aspects. I think my cynicism probably oversteps its justification, but it's not something I can help.

A few events look alright. I'll tag along if anybody from uni is going to something.

Once I spend all my US money, right? I don't want to lose that money.
You would also lose Club Nintendo coins from your future 3DS purchases if you are partaking in that, and I don't think we're sure if they are getting the price cut and 20 free games.

Perhaps Play-Asia's prices ($28 for $20) are justifiable if you can't find another way.

Never seen an IPS in person, but I have a 120hz and really like it.

Yesterday I installed windows on an SSD and was wondering why the cursor felt so sluggish. Then I realised the monitor was on 60hz.

Probably depends what you'll primarily use it for. I went for the 120hz as I have a decent PC and mostly use it for gaming. Originally I didn't even want the 3D, but eventually figured I might as well try it out and got the Nvidia 3D kit.

If you're going to mainly use it to watch movies and whatnot, you'd probably be better off with the IPS.

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.
If you switch regions you don't lose your credit, it stays on the store that you bought it on.

Example: On my US system I switch between the US and Brazil, I have $0.3 cents on my US account and it's still there when I switch back to US from Brazil today to get Netflix.

Second Example: I switched between the UK and Dutch stores on my UK one, same deal with the credit.

Thanks for confirming it mate.

Incidentally, do you happen to know whether anyone has tried transferring Nintendo Video content via SD? My attempts to get somebody to upload the files from their SD have fallen on deaf ears.

Haven't tried it yet, I could try it from AU to AU 3DS though? Maybe...

Sorry for DP, but hey look US Nintendo Video is downloading...
It works for me too (thanks for the help in chat). Unblock-US works after all. I guess it didn't like the connection I have at work, but it works fine when I'm connecting at home.

I guess I can try copying the files off the SD if anyone can't get Unblock-US going and wants to try manually installing the content. Reply or PM if so.

Edit: It looks like the videos are encoded into 3DS save data. That indicates to me it's almost certainly locked to the 3DS that downloaded it and there's no point in trying to manually copy it across. That's a pity.

Pinch and a punch for the first of the month.

This art thing is gonna be a bugger time zone wise. The first challenge (fruit) went up during the night, I've added an apple to the comic I'm working on today, but the comic isn't due to go online until midnight tonight my time. Hrm :/

Does anyone know of any print on demand (or low-run offset) places in Australia? I'm having a devil of a time with Ka-Blam in the states and would love to find a local place so I don't lose everything I make on postage.

Aon, Rahk, Don and I got into some EYE last night. Game is buggy as fuck, but is surprisingly fun. It's an FPS RPG on Source, and has some of the best gunplay I've ever seen on the engine. It "supports " four players in coop, but from what we played, you couldn't tell. It looks like it's fairly trivial to up the max amount of players, though who knows if the game scales the enemies. I think we all found it a bit too easy, completing the first few levels in about 40 minutes (after 2 hours of trying to get the fucking thing to start).

Hopefully the rest of the idiots who bought it can play tonight before we get bored of it.

Bwahaha Jintor :) Brendan Brewer is the only games reviewer I trust. He should be in every games magazine and site the world over.

A prize to anyone who can guess what all five video game comics I'm doing this week are! Well, four, because the first one is already up.
