AusGAF. I'm cleaning. Are either of my RB1 or GH2 360 guitars worth anything or should I just chuck them? I have the Logitech 360 one which is the shit so I have no need for these. Of course, if anyone here wants either, free to pick up or can be shipped or whatevs. Otherwise, dey is getting chucked.

Just started watching the Sopranos. I finished the second episode of season two, and man, it's really starting to hit its stride. Entertaining first season, let's hope season two can keep up the pace it's set so far.

End of Season 4 once Eric gets another client. The whole season is a bit iffy for me. Basically when Medellin started up production. Doesn't get unwatchable but it does get boring in Season 5.
Pawn shop dude. Even $10 each is better than nothing.
I would say that crafting 7 coal and getting Portal 1 is worse than anything since it has been free so many times and everyone already has a copy.
My good deed for the day was to take my entire server / client code for my game and paste it on the first result on google for "how to make multiplayer games" (though the forums and shit require moderator approval for posts).
It would make me happy to know I have inspired tens of... tens of script kiddies to make terrible multiplayer flash games without using any comments or any proper protcol communication at all.
In other news, my game is coming along nicely. I have made it so each client can control a single ball, and move it around the screen. Other clients see the ball move. My next goal is to make the balls be able to shoot at each other, because that sounds cool.

Was playing guitar hero at a mates house the other week for the first time in years and it got me keen to play rockband. (never played it)
Jumped on the Internet and looked around and they appear to still sell the games new but not the accessories and theyre not that cheap on eBay either.
So I am potentially interested.

So I just got back from spending a week with the in-laws in Melbourne. Got back and found out that an old friend from church got engaged and married in the time I was away to a guy she's known all of four months. It was funny hearing my Mum try and rationalise the behaviour, because nobody who's religious could possibly make irresponsible or arbitrary decisions.

Not that I know of. Maybe Shantae and Cave Story? It's never been stated outright.
I know Shantae never came out on DSiWare for that reason, same with Cave Story. I am unsure about WiiWare or PSN though.

Probably some titles that never even made it that far because of the costs to get onto PSN in the first place. Well, that is what I learnt from Game Dev Story anyway!

Here's a mind freak: Remedy actually used to be legendary PC demosceners Future Crew. My favourites were Panic (keep in mind, around 1.5mb running on a 486), Second Reality and Unreal. Amazing considering none of these guys were in the games industry at the time, yet (technically) blowing away 90% of game devs on PC at the time. Love the tracker music too, just... ugh, so amazing. FWIW, Jesper Kyd (Hitman and Subterrania music, amongst others) was also a scener, but not with Future Crew.
Edit: You can hear the beginnings of some of the music in a home video here. Who'd have thought that (basically) that room of Finnish nerds would go on to create some of the best PC games ever? Death Rally was their first major release, afaik. Fuck, watching that home video, none of them could be older than 20! Then again, all Finnish look young. But going by the date on that vid and his wikipedia, Skaven (I guess the blonde-haired dude) is 19. Fuuuuuuck.

actually VKS that is the exact reason Shantae didnt come here. I cant remember where i read it though but that was the direct reason. Do some digging Jint you will find it. PSN is an interesting one because Sony generally if something is going onto PSN aid with the classification cost (and MS on the flipside). If you self publish on PSN or Live its your problem but no one has self published i dont think? Else its the publishers problem.
Nintendo are the only ones that do not.
Its the classification system denying us Indie games XBL though, thats for sure. And that is directly attributed to the cost.

Yep, Remedy also split off into Futuremark back when they were still relevant. Remedy released Final Reality before that side of the business was spun into Futuremark and the rest of the team went on to do Death Rally. And then Futuremark got into games to which was an interesting choice, mainly for the use of the name I suppose.

Also mindblowing is that they released Death Rally in 1996, took 5 years to do Max Payne and then turned around Max Payne 2 in only 2 years with the ground work already done. It then took 7 YEARS to get Alan Wake. 7 years for that. I sure do pick games to drool over in Max Payne 2 and Half Life 2, just a sucker for punishment.

Technically speaking they don't yet. It's tabled for the next revision of the Classification Act though. As a practical matter, there's just too many games on the app store with far too many garage developers to be reasonably reviewed.

Well dang. Just read that Rockstar aren't bringing back Tim Gibbs to do the motion capture for Max Payne 3, going to use McCaffrey for BOTH voice and appearance. I thought Max looked a little off. Don't get me wrong, big McCaffrey fan over here, loved his appearance on Sex & the City, but Gibbs is the Max that I remember and loved. Would be just as annoying if they got Gibbs to do both.
I mean look at the guy! He just oozes Max Payne! Not to meantion the fact he could play Lumberjack Alan Wake in American Nightmare!

Is the MA15+ cost on the site because tahts when shit gets scary expensive. Having to show the board a game start to finish can get pricey
Digital Only
The only reason Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony send games for review that are digital is
1. to keep on side with the COB and to be seen to do the right thing (and make the parental lockout actually useful)
2. Because every so often the digital games get a retail release in a pack.
Digital only is excluded from the COB due to a loophole. Basically the Act hasn't changed since 1996 and has not kept with the times.
Phone games will always get a free ride (and in fact is leading the charge for hte industry to be self regulated to an extent except when complaints arise) because there is so many of them.
If phone games lead to self regulation here, then we can thank phone games for fixing up a major fuckup of a system we have now.
the ALRC is going to reccomend self regulation in its next review.

Shaneus is in Melbourne, but I think I've got the Explorer shape one for 360 floating around somewhere and you can have that if you want it. I'll go down and check the garage later.
Fusebox is right... Geelong/Melbourne. The Xplorer one is still surprisingly good to use but I just have no use for it right now. Happy to post, but like I mentioned to... someone else?... that the cost of shipping probably wouldn't make it worth it.
