I'm about to start up CK2 too, so I'm glad there's a support group forming.
I have a feeling it's going to be a little different to Saints Row 3 which I just finished. I know I'm well behind the times, but that game is so good. I don't normally like GTA games, but SR3 is pretty special.

I didn't play SR2, so maybe that's why I liked SR3 so much. I own it but I've heard the PC port is bad so I've never bothered to download it.

Glad everyone is on the CK2 wagon post-sale, it really is great. But I get the feeling the majority here will hate. Just the game style is so not for everyone.

SR2 had tons of variety and customisation while SR3 is a more stylised, focused experience.
Hopefully they mix them together for SR4.

Looks like i'm going to be here long term which for some reason doesn't inspire me much. I could hang around and get apple tech certified, if it even lasts that long or I could try and move onto something new.
Part of me wants to run off and do something new. It feels off here, alienated and kinda dead. That's probably because I don't know the techs but I do know everyone else and it still feels bad.
I just want to go home and pretend like this shit doesn't exist.

Personally, not really no, although I'd don't know if I'm the best person to ask. I would however like to see A. more girls that aren't just there to look hot, and B. more male characters portrayed that way. I think this is probably a bigger issue than just the gaming medium. A lot of tv shows divide women into 'hot chicks' and 'lol, ugly', though it certainly is a bigger issue in gaming. I guess there's nothing wrong with them being portrayed as sex symbols as long as its not the only portrayal they're given.
I was playing SR3 and came to like the Viola character. She was well spoken and had a economics degree and was dressed fairly conservatively for the most part. Then I realised she had enormous boobs. Then I realised she was voiced by a porn star. So, I dunno.
It's not a solved issue by any means. Google Buffy+feminism and you'll see all kinds of divergent opinions on whether the series is good or bad for women. I just don't think it's enough to say that woman in cheerleader outfit always = bad, as Omi was implying.

Buffy was a really interesting subversion of the 'blonde victim' stereotype because not only was she neither of those things, but she didn't even really fit neatly into any given criteria (imho, anyway, I watched it years after it first ran so I may have lost some context). She was just a teenage girl (+the scoobies) with the weight of the world on her shoulders.

Certainly true, but I guess I just got that impression from the OT (and mega in IRC!) on the game, where it was spruiking alternate costumes involving progressively less clothing.
Kinzie wasn't a very interesting character.

Its basically just soft core porn - which is fine. People are entitled to play pervy games if they so desire. Its that those kind of female characters appear in almost every game without fail that's the problem. Huge breasts have become the norm.
