I would like to think of Steam as a user interface to products that I own. In reality, though, it's more of a service like a Netflix queue, in that it's a service for a specific set of rental properties that I can access.
Program or service, depending on what I'm trying to explain about it. "It's a DD service, but you need to install the program" etc.
Also new EULA? How new? Are you talking about the one there was a big uproar about a month or so ago?

TTR is fantastic, if you are likely to play with 3 or less players, get Nordic Countries.
As for Carcassonne expansions, I recommend the following: Inns and Cathedrals (we ALWAYS play with the rules of this one), The Princess and the Dragon and The Tower
The latter two are definitely better with more players and not really recommended with 2. But we play with the tiles from the majority of the expansions and just switch in and out the rules we want to play with. Setting a time limit of the game, otherwise it can go for a long time
Edit: And if you don't have it, get this mini expansion: The River II

I was up until midnight last night writing something that is the very definition of frivolous, because preserving the esoteric arguments that go on between Zelda fanboys on the Internet is something I apparently care that much about.
It was meant to be a throwaway summary, darn it, but the more I got into the bits I wanted to explain, the more I felt I had to talk about the background of it to provide context to the uninitiated.
Now it's turning into a 300 page beast of a thing that's eating up months' worth of spare time. I'm sure it will be very useful for all two of the people that care :/
