Also what happened to 30 day returns? The fuck is this shit. If I buy something and end up not wanting it I sure as shit want at least store credit if I bring it back within a few days. If it is as new it should be accepted.

Most of them do, at least with a micro/mini adaptor. Which is great as I can use the same charger as my phone.

So I came back after lunch when the security guard went on a break or something, he wasn't there. Whatever, the manager dude changed his mind after I came back He's offering a 50% money back + I keep the Surface or 100% Store credit. He said since the thing is attached to my Microsoft Account it's impossible to resell it (?)

Not sure what to take, cheap uni work surface or cheap ass laptop that may
be shit within 3 years and run really slowly...

Also he's really, really sorry.

EDIT: to clarify $3XX Surface (50% cashback) vs 100% store credit, touch choice...

Keep the surface and get cheap laptop imo, it might be shit in 3 years but will be a stopgap and you get the tablet for tablety things

Awesome that the store manager is coming to the table! It really depends on how much use you can get out of the Surface I guess.

How is the homebrew community? Can't be happier with my HP Touchpad due to putting Android on it.

Have you checked if you qualify for any Austudy(oor whatever they call it now)? I beleive even if you only qualify for a minimal fortnightly payment you will still receive the twice yearly $1k bonus

Too late, I managed to ask him to throw in extended warranty for free so it will last longer. Also, yes I do have those payments. It's still rough to live on as I recently lost my job.

It was jailbroken (which Mircosoft pretty hilariously said showed good ingenuity) but I'm not sure what the scene is like for it. Haven't been game to try.

I have spent quite a bit of time with the RT. Apart from being confusing to consumers it's quite a neat little device. But like ipads and android tablets it's not something (apart from office integration) I would coin a productivity device (especially in the corporate/enterprise world) more so a toy. I am pretty keen on getting a surface pro though, if MS ever bloody release them here.

The funny part is you can Jailbreak RT but the only jailbroken apps are emulators and an IRC Client. Outside of that, no alternative to IE RT or anything else really.
I hope MS doesn't continue this walled garden crap with the next Xbox...

They certainly should have done a much better job making it clear it wasn't actually windows, being able to go to the desktop is even more stupid.

I think the next generation (or third generation) of Surface devices, should Microsoft choose to push them, will be quite popular with enterprise customers. If they can get their act together by the time people start to replace iPads, they have the opportunity to take a big part of the market. Office integration will be popular with users and control with sysadmins.

They'll probably screw it up.

Considering the amount of people that use ipads in the enterprise environment and Apple being as un-enterprise friendly as you could imagine (it's not part of their strategy but whatever) I was gobsmacked when I found out that you can't put an RT tablet on the domain, such a missed opportunity.

Spec Ops - Finished!

Steam is saying 2 hours but I don't think that's the case. Should be around 5 or 6.

So it's a third person game where you shoot a fuck ton of people in a sandy location. On buildings, in buildings, on sand, the shooting happens everywhere!

The game wasn't too bad. Short which is ok with me, any longer and it would have been a real bore. I didn't care much for the ending, ooh a choice, oh i've killed 40000 people so who really cares.
