Driver San Francisco - Not finished, Save game lost!

I played 6 hours of this game going by steam and from memory it was really ass. I believe I stopped playing because the game had become so repetitive and just fucking dull that I couldn't take it anymore.

So I won't be finishing this game on my list since I sure as hell aren't going to play 6+ hours of it again.

Smashing into cars has never been so fucking boring and repetitive.

I'm trying to play through it now and I feel the same. No matter what mission you do it just devolves into taking control of an oncoming car and smashing into something. Pretty boring.

Planescape: Torment: Tides of Numenera: the setting is by that Monte Cook guy: You know, he worked on Dungeons & Dragaons: Yes, you do, it's that game where you roll strange looking dice: Now you're just being silly

Late to the joke party, and took it too far. Yep.

Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight!
Quake 3: Arena!

No $20 tier left? No sale. Will pick up on Steamsale thanks inXile! Might pre-order once I get to play Wasteland 2.

And Left 4 Dead 2.
Taking up 16GB of damn space on my SSD so I would be keen for this too!

Just looking at my inbox, I have four unread emails from three Kickstarter campaigns (Project Eternity, Wasteland 2, Shadowrun Returns) which are all RPGs...

... ah hell I'm just going to back it.

I've got at least 50 unread Kickstarter emails in a folder :/

Shan, D, and other misc. roleplayers: have you lot ever read the webcomic Darth and Droids? It's Star Wars reimagined as a roleplaying campaign someone made up on the fly. It's pretty great.

Start from Phantom Menace and work your way up.

I thought they already had one tbh. It's less about the actual systems and just more about the comedy/explanations for ludicrous Star Wars things.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the games but honestly I barely read the updates anymore. When I watched the Torment video today I was actually blown away by how good Wasteland 2 looked. I know the videos have been floating around for ever but I've never watched them. I had no idea they were going for that level of fidelity. Kinda excited now.

Thanks man, that's brilliant! I've not seen that before. They're totally D&D players: minimal roleplay, mostly about mechanics, gear and combat.

Think they are actually creating a Star Wars role playing game atm. Remember seeing some rule books floating about the end of last year.

This I think - http://rpggeek.com/rpg/19360/star-wars-edge-of-the-empire

There's been a few incarnations of Star Wars roleplaying games, this one is the latest. That book is number one out of three, where you play scoundrels and such. They'll work their way through the different classes until there's Jedis in the last book. It's built on the current Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay system, so it'll be horrid.

I'm liking the look of an Apocalypse World hack that's being worked on here. Apocalypse World caters more to character driven story, which is far more entertaining than "oh look, the Sith are at it again!"

Yup! Looks great. As for reading updates though, probably open 1/3 or so of the emails.

Yah, I am no RPGer really, was just mentioning that there was a new legit one :D

Looks like the mobile apps to watch the NRL are out now. $14.99/month or $89.99 for the year. I've just been told about something called BlueStacks which allows you to use mobile apps on PC. Perhaps this would be a neat workaround from forking over ridiculous amounts of money to Foxtel. Doesn't work.

Attention FallbackPants and other League fans. The NRL have a Livstream page up which might just require some VPN trickery to get working. If anyone here knows the best way to get around this (price, speed and such), I'm certainly interested. Beats paying Foxtel a fortune.

but ever so delicious
Syndicate Finished!

It's a game about dubstep and shooting people in the face, Even though they seem to be made from sponge.

I'm surprised they spent so many years on this game. The presentation I thought was kinda polished and graphically it did look pretty darn good, It's just a shame the actual gameplay was run of the mill FPS.

The three abilities you end up getting were kinda cool but by the end of the game and how you spent the few points you got, You could just destroy anything without actually using them.

It was ok but mostly shit!

2 / 5 cookies

Syndicate was INCREDIBLY under developed. Looked amazing, was decent fun to play, but just fucking nothing going on in that beautiful world. No depth. Crimial to underutilize that world. Short game too.

Hop in to AusGAF Steam chat tonight to check what's going on. I should be free from 6.30-11.00 so definitely keen to play some games!
Awesomesauce, I'll make sure to drug up the child real good so I can play uninterupted!

ALSO WATCH THE MOVIE REVIEWS HERE, CURRENTLY REWATCHING AND THEY ARE JUST AS FUNNY AS THEY EVER WERE

(althoug the schtick in Ep 2 is really miss for the vast majority of the skits, the critical analysis is still fanfuckingtastic)

Yeah the Wasteland 2 video was fantastic, fully confident in it now.

Leisure Suit Larry is almost to Beta stage and should be out in a month or two!

Shadowrun Returns is getting a full gameplay reveal video this Saturday too, just raining progress with Kickstarter projects lately!

I REALLY need to get back to the DFA video series too, they were fucking awesome but once they didn't have any videos for a month I lost track of the project and they don't send out emails through Kickstarter any more so I keep forgetting.

I played a bit of Sleeping Dogs today. Will play ACIII for a bit this arvo. I have literally nothing else to do at the mo. Might watch Hot Tub Time Machine again today. So-so movie from memory but Mrs Don Draper's boobs made an appearance so not all bad.

We watched The Descendants the other night. Much less grief-porny than I was expecting but also pretty good. It won an oscar for best screenplay last year. That Greendale Dean sure gets around http://youtu.be/CTT2PMzeeh0?t=1m30s

http://www.theage.com.au/entertainm...s-gay-marriage-radio-plea-20130307-2fnca.html

Pauline Hanson has clashed with 2Day FM hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O over the issue of gay marriage in her first interview since announcing her return to politics.

The former One Nation leader, who plans to stand in this year's federal election, invoked the Diggers in her argument against same-sex marriage and urged listeners to "think of the children".

She also warned that "someone [will] pay the price" if gay marriage becomes legal.

"The fact is I don't agree with gay marriages, or gays adopting children or [having] in vitro fertilisation," she told the hosts, adding that she has "a lot" of gay friends who support her stance.

When Jackie O criticised her views as "old-fashioned", Ms Hanson replied: "It's wonderful that people have opinions and views on these things but the hard fact is, at the end of the day, someone's got to pay the price for all this. People have to understand what happened in the past to discover this land; the Diggers that fought for us."

Sandilands then asked her, "Didn't they fight for us to be free – so that we can all have gay sex?"

"It's not for me, Kyle," Ms Hanson replied.

"It's not for me either," Sandilands said, "[but it's] treating people like second class citizens; if they want to get married, let them get married."

When Ms Hanson warned that gay marriage could result in homosexual couples having the "right to adopt children", it led to the following exchange:

Jackie O: "But they should be able to have children, Pauline."

Ms Hanson: "But then you look at the child. Have they been asked? You have a man, and then you have a woman that's what it's all about. You think of the children as well."

You can't make this shit up.

Hanson just pops up every election to get her handout from running then pisses off to spend it all again.

Fuck Democracy. Ban the fuckwit from politics and leave it at that. Stop giving her air time and attention too you idiots in the media.

I don't know why, but whenever I hear 'tipping' my first thought is always about some kind of term for sports match fixing or betting or something.

!!! I do not know how to properly express my excitement at that. I shall be investigating. Cheers man.

FFS. Seriously? Can she just fuck off? Ha, apparently a journo from my newspaper was banned from attending her press conferences after continually tearing her apart when she was the MP for Oxley. Suck shit Hanson

Shit. Got embroiled in another tipping thread. Unholy link: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=520125
Ha! I was just about to post in here that, whilst the Gaming side can be uber crazy, nothing tops the level of bugshit crazy that a tipping thread creates in the Off-topic side.

The part that gets me is that is produces people who feel so strongly about it that they see nothing wrong with fairly blatantly calling others horrible, scum level pieces of shit. And the aggression? Simply amazing.

Reading all of the SimCity threads has gotten me in the mood for some city building. I obviously can't do that at work, so instead I'm listening to the SimCity 3000 and SimCity 4 soundtracks.

Some amazing atmospheric and jazz music in them!

The NRL just put up some "Laws of the game" videos detailing some rules changes/clarifications for this year.

I'm glad this is being done, Harrigan made it as confusing as possible. Anderson seems to have done a decent job of cleaning up Harrigan's mess and did a particularly good job of cleaning up the video ref procedures. If the refs can consistently carry all of this out on the field (probably not) then it'll surely be a while lot better.

I tried to hit on a rather good looking person of the female variety this morning. Next thing I know, we go inside and of the classroom and she starts teaching us. Turns out she runs the tutorial. And is married. So awkward

But anyways. Bought Dirt 2 earlier... For a game that's a few years old, I'm surprised about how much fun I'm having playing it.

Over the past few weeks, I've burned through a bunch of VC games (SML, Metroid 2, DK94), Crimson Shroud and Gunman Clive. Before I cleanse the palate with some Liberation Maiden, I thought I'd download some demos.

Fractured Soul is... Disappointing. I love the premise, but it feels like a 2005 game masquerading as a 3DS game.

KH:DDD appears to be not for me. I played to the Jungle level of the original and the combat appears to be the same.

Castlevania MoF I'm lukewarm on. The combat seems sort of okay-ish, but the guy doesn't seem very agile. The part that made OoE fun was dodging and dancing between lots of enemies that could really mess you up. This, on the other hand, appears to be more about just a few really strong enemies at a time. Not sure if want.

MH3U has terrible camera controls, holy carp. Are all Monster Hunter games like this? How did this ever get so popular on the PSP? Does the full version have CPP support? Because that's the only way I could see myself playing this.

Fire Emblem looks absolutely amazeballs. Also, they fixed the permanent death thing, which may just shoot this series into the upper tier. Really tempted to get it.
