For those of you on iiNet, this might be useful for you:

Exciting update on the XBox front .. we all know this gone on far too long.

With Microsoft's help we're trialling a solution using our own CDN to deliver your XBox downloads as Freezone. Internal trials (my XBox) have gone very well, but we need to get some load onto the system and see if anything weird crops up.

If you'd like to participate you'll need to manually set a new DNS in your XBox network settings, but please please please DO NOT use this DNS in your modem or other devices. It serves no purpose other than this, and may cause other issues.

The IP is: 203.14.173.1

Go into Settings/System/Network Settings/Configure Network/Basic Settings/DNS Settings on your XBox. Change to Manual and enter that IP as your Pimary DNS. Your box will then use our CDN for everything from download.xbox.com which should be the majority of your game & demo downloads.

If all goes well with this trial Microsoft will update their DNS load balancing to make this change permanent, and you will no longer require any special settings.

Oh and please keep in mind this is an engineering trial. Support won't be able to assist you with this service. Please post your feedback here (or over on the games.on.net forums). If you have issues just move your STB back to Automatic DNS or whatever you had set previously and let me know what went wrong
