AusGAF IV - A No Hope, Government - Double the price, region locked and now adults

So, RAGE is pretty fucking awesome, I can't really think of anything I don't like about it. Perfect mix of racing/shooting and a nice overworld to tie it all together.

Better graphics would have been nice but at least it's aesthetically pleasing so it's not a pain to look at.

FYI Gaz, when I type 'F' into Chrome's search bar, the first site that drops down is funnywebcomic.com. I know for a lot of people it would be 'facebook' but I stand by my lifestyle and have a more rewarding 'type F into Chrome' experience.

this is not the point. This goes far beyond 1 product. Basically a major precedent is set by this court case that companies will use for years to come in Australia to block competitor products


it's the most monopolistic court decision in yonks in Australia. You watch, Apple will go after the Xoom now like they said they would.

This court case has been handed down on 'look and feel' which is something intangible and a load of shit.

Someone can now easily say well that thing that competes with me has the same look and feel so it has to be banned, and this precedent sets that up for a victory

Man, I haven't read Real Life in like a decade. It's awesome he's still doing it.

Unless he's still doing the "oh i'll update once a week maybe and then post a long diatribe about how I'm sooooooo busy at the moment" thing that turned me off it in the first place.
 
I tried to quickly patch in a pause / return to menu option in my game.

I didn't back it up.

I saved and exited it without testing.

I submitted it.

I decided to show a friend the final game. Due to some checks I'd put in for accessing the menu, you could not load additional levels and the game froze after hitting a win condition.

So that was a nice little panic moment (that I've since resolved).

Year 12 kids seem to have taken over part of the library at uni. I was subjected to intriguing discussions about why Gabby shouldn't be invited to the party because she might start thinking she's part of the group and we don't want that.

When i caught a train to work i was regaled every monday by year 12 students from a fairly exclusive Sydney female school and their sex lives and what they got up to on saturday night, how good their boyfriends are in bed and who they should shag at rather loud levels that the carriage could hear

Vile. Should be a rule of complete silence enforced when brats are at uni - not just in the library. Give them all a single A4 sheet and a marker; everything they want to express over the course of the whole day has to fit on it.

I popped the Saturn version of Daytona in the car stereo this morning and gave the speakers a great little workout on the trip to work.

Really makes you want to drive fast tho :/
 
I was expecting crazy graphics. Kinda nice they didn't change anything. I've only ever played it on the arcade and looking at the ridiculous handling on that video made me want to buy an arcade unit instead of xbl points.

No way bro, Not that wild. That's clearly a controller though since it goes mental from left to right, with a wheel it was pretty smooth.

I wouldn't mind getting a wheel + daytona if it's a good port just so i can kick everyones ass but i need a 4 stick manual gear box.

Too much money!
 
I love Daytona, but where's the updated graphics you can switch to whenever you like? I don't know if I could play it without an arcade cabinet...

Daytona with updates graphics would just be weird.

As long as the texture resolution is nice and high this will be awesome on a huge flat panel.

Worked for Monkey Island (I realise it's a different type of game, but still) and Beyond Good and Evil.

I don't like straight ports of games that haven't aged well in their looks. Feels just like a way to grab a quick buck to me. Of course, the option to see/hear the game as it originally was is important too, but I don't see why you couldn't update the graphics too.

There's not much info on Wii U yet. It will be BC though, so maybe get a Wii and pick up a few classic games cheap. Can't go past xenoblade, Zelda, Mario galaxy 1, 2 and nsmb.
