I knew Maria would humble Bouchard. I'm more worried about upcoming matches.

Murray better take this tonight.
Damn, Maria beat me to it? I wanted to humble her so badly......

There's no way Muzza loses this match. You can already see it. He's going to dice the court until Nock blows his wad and gets frustrated. There's no other way this match will go.

When anything gets heated it has more energy. The balls will travel faster off the racket and will lose less momentum when bouncing on the court. Sprint records in athletics are usually broken when the conditions are hot (not too hot or it affects the athletes) as this impacts the track.

Just to add, it's just the physics of molecules as well. As you said when the temperature is higher there is more energy. When there is more energy, energy that is typically dispersed as heat, it causes molecules to expand. The air is literally thinner in hot environments. Thinner air causes higher serve speed and a less amount of ball movement as a result of the spin. I don't imagine it would be substantial enough when your on the other side of the net though.

Edit: This is purely recollected off of shit I think I may or may have not have learned years ago. Interpret as you will, but with a large amount of skepticism.

I just tuned in, what's this about penalties?

After a point ends, the server has 20 seconds to serve. If you go over this time limit, you receive a code violation (which is essentially a warning). If you do it again, the penalty is a loss of your first serve for that point.

Before, it used to be a point penalty. Say, for instance, if you were serving and it was 15-15, and you take more than 20 seconds, the umpire would announce the point penalty and the score would be 15-30. Now, instead of having 2 serves, you only get 1.

The umpires usually don't say anything unless it's an egregious violation, like taking 28 or more seconds.

Nadal is notorious for taking extra time. Last year at this very tournament, he received 2 time violations in one match, and lost his first serve.

Oh, I know about time penalties. I was wondering why the commentators were talking about them. Was someone abusing the rules?

And you kind of have to feel for Halep. She ran into the AO specialist Makarova. That and she's hit that wall much like Radwanska, Caroline, Jankovic, Safina, Dementieva and Bouchard have hit.

Safina. Jesus. lol

Haven't heard that name in a loooooooooong time

EDIT: I had to Wiki her to see if she was still on the tour. Apparently, she officially retired last year

Good love service game. Kid serves well and has a real shot.

As for legs he just pulled a 5 setter last match and moves with great agility for his height. He will only get physically better from here.

Spewing that Nadal lost :(, Wawrinka's the only player I want to win out of those remaining.

Would love Serena or Venus to be the one that belts Sharapova, can't stand her cheating grunting.

Murray just had too much experience for Kygrios. Good solid win. Expect Berdych to be a tricky opponent for Murray. Potential is there for a great five set match.
