Rumors are Clarkson, Hammond, and May will be formally announcing their new show at Netflix next week, with shooting starting soon. Can't wait. Less restrictions than BBC and higher budget should make for one awesome show!

I don't think there will be a markup on these. It's not like a limited edition Ferrari or something. $39K is already asking a lot for a Focus, no matter how performance oriented it is. It's main rivals like the WRX STI, Evo, Civic Type R, and Golf R are all similarly priced. If they try to mark it up, it will encroach on a whole another category of car.

Nobody I know is paying markup on a Cayman GT4 and that's a hell of a lot more rare and expensive than the Focus RS will be. Two people I know also ordered the new GT3RS at MSRP.

Man I hope the rumors of "House of Cars" on Netflix are true.

And yes, $39,000 is a lot for a Focus. From what I've heard the car will perform very well, but for the money I'd definitely take a new 5.0 with some options over the RS.

Welcome to the best community on GAF! :D

What do you drive?

Thank you :]

Currently driving a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport after this lady t-boned and totalled my Honda S2000 back in October.

Here's the most recent pic I have of it:

I also have a 240sx that I've had since high school, but I feel kind of bad for it since I never really drive it anymore and it just sits in my garage. Can't really seem to let it go for sentimental reasons.

Nice car! That's a great motion shot too. Is your 240sx S13 or S14? Any pics?

Thanks! It's an S13. I've always had big dreams to mod it - even a few parts sitting around, but it just never happened. No pics currently, it's dirty as all hell. I'll snap some when I finally wash it.

Nice Vette! That's the same color as my old Evo 10.

Pretty big change going into one of those from an S2K. Do you miss it?

The FocusRS looks Manic. Wonder what the US pricing will be. That would be a fun soccerdad car for me. Still have my eyes on the 2016 WRX with leather.

2015 Dodge Challenger drag pak

Now available with a naturally aspirated 426 Hemi or a supercharged 354 Hemi. Horsepower and other specifications have not been released but Dodge claims that both powerplants will produce more power than the V10 in previous model years.

I just absolutely adore the different Challenger packages. They all offer something really great; and they're all so unique.

That Drag Pack is awesome.

I know Garlits wants the super charged version with the super firepower 354 hemi wonder how that compares to the NA 426? Dodge says they're both 8 seconds in the quarter but only time will tell which is the better version.

I don't expect a markup either over the long run, but early adopters are going to get taken for a ride. When the STs first came out there was some markup on those. And the RS' rivals have all been on the market for years, so there's no pent up demand.

As for your Porsche comparison, that's not comparing apples to apples since the RS is priced much more mainstreamly. But speaking of Porsche pricing, does the MSRP price build in a larger profit for the dealer?

Ask for the chase incentive. It gave me another $500 off. I didn't have to finance. Just have a chase credit card and their GM hooked it up.

Thanks!

Yep got the $500 off! Stacked on the $1000 conquest discount too! :D

Deal is done and I am happy with it. Car drove really great for a supposedly "sub-compact" car. Interior is leaps ahead of anything in class, I drove a Civic and Forte. I can't believe Mazda can make this car for low 20s loaded. Blind spot monitoring is awesome too. 2.5 liter engine is nice and meaty this small car.

Car will have to sit at dealer to get detailed, it's too late to bring it home right now but no worries, picking her up tomo morning! Has 1 mile on it! haha

Pics then! :D

Congrats man! For driving around town, I enjoy our Mazda 6 way more than my vettes. Really cool cars.

Probably gonna get one too. I'm going between that or the corolla which I can get fully loaded for a couple of grand less. Definitely like the engine more in the Mazda, but the seats and arms rests are more comfy in the corolla. It also has a bigger backseat.

Anyone who pays markup has more money than sense. I remember when the new Stingray came out, I was thinking about picking one up, but the dealer I went to said no test drives + $10K markup. Told them to fuck off, and now those cars are dime a dozen collecting dust at dealer lots.

Porsche pricing of course has higher margins since it's more expensive, but that doesn't mean the cars are overpriced. As a complete package, the GT4 and GT3RS are probably the best new sports cars you can get for $86K and $176K respectively.

They could easily charge more for either car, and they would still sell out every single one they make before production. And by that I mean total production over the life of the model, not just an initial interest spike due to being new that a lot of cars like the Stingray go through.

What sold me is the quality of the engine, driving feel and interior. It's worth it for a few k more. Even the 2.0 liter engine is miles above the Corolla's 1.8 and is 1k cheaper if you want to save money.

Def test drive both thoroughly however! GL!

edit: Forgot to mention $1000 discount right now for any 3, until 7/6.

Yeah the engine is much nicer in the Mazda. I love the way the 2.5 liter drives. The corolla struggled with its cvt getting onto freeways too.

Yeah I wanted to avoid CVTs too, even the Civic's CVT was pretty bad.

Hondas are always a ripoff to me. They seem to charge a premium for their vehicles, but always cheap out on materials and features. I think they just coast on reputation. I did hear Honda's cvt was supposed to be the best of the bunch, but I didn't want to get into a civic when aa totally new revision is coming in a few months.

Yeah, was looking at a Honda jazz since I wanted a light weight, affordable car that could still carry a load, but the cars were very basic. The models in my price class didn't even have cruise control. Just ended up getting a Clio Estate for the same money which is the same weight, obviously has more luggage room and comes fully kitted out.

Graphite gray, right? I really loved that color on the Evo's.

I did at first, mainly cause it just sucks to lose a car to an accident like that, but my fiance also has one, so I still get to drive hers around. :D

Congrats on the purchase man!

We demand pics as soon as you get them.

Also, stick or auto? Lol.

Yep, the moment the S2000 died is when Honda pretty much lost all credibility to auto enthusiasts and are just using their reputation for non car enthusiasts.

Speaking of which, one of my best friends would rather buy a V6 Accord than an WRX or any of the other fun cars out there.

Smh.

I do think their interiors definitely feel better and high quality than Toyotas though. To me Toyota plastics feel a little too cheap.

That said, I don't think that's entirely fair. I got my 2014 Civic Si for 21k new, how many other cars are there at that price with 205HP, LSDs, keyless/push to start, etc etc. Obviously the car doesn't have any serious pedigree whatsoever but for the price I think it's not bad at all if you want a reliable daily driver with a bit more punch than other cars in the $ range.

Hopefully the future holds better things. The new Type R has me super excited and we are yet to see how the new NSX fares.

Yeah maybe its just me but cvts aren't good enough yet. Always sounding busy and you dont really have control. 2.5 liter 3 gets you a true 6 speed auto with paddles. It was just so lively compare to the civics cvt.

Yep.

Though tbh I'm starting to think the NSX is gonna be The Last Gu... er, Half Life 3.

When is it supposed to be coming out?

Anyway, yay for car mods... installing my cold air intake today. Bought the $140 dollar long reach, low profile floor jack from Harbor Freight and it's still not long enough to reach the crossmember. @______@

Off to find some hockey pucks right now to cut and mold it to fit under the frame rails that way I can jack I finally get this shit done.

Have you sat in the new corolla? The interior materials are very nice especially in the higher end s models. You got a good deal if you got your si for 21k with those options.

Okay, picked her up this morning at 9am! lol

Everyone meet Kali! She had 1 mile on her when I first test drove her and 3 miles when I picked her up. :D

Pros so far:
- Infotainment system is on par with my iDrive system in my M3, lots and lots of functionalities
- Drives so smooth, blind spot monitoring is uber
- Keyless entry / ignition + start stop
- I can tell the engine is willing to rev, but just can't yet
- Still impressed with quality of interior

Cons so far:
- 600 mile break in on engine... booo I want to try the sport feature and paddles
- Review mirror is kinda small
- oem tires kinda are weak, but maybe need to break them in

Thanks guys! Interior is very nice, I would say on par with Acura interiors. I have an older Acura TL and it's about the same in terms of looks and feel.

Yeah I am from San Jose too, decided to drive to work after picking her up from Stevens Creek Mazda to snap some pics. :D
