That Bentley is gorgeous...

Saw this on the news this morning.

just rock one on the back, leave the front clean ;)

havent had a front plate on my econoline for a year now, white vans are seemingly invisible to cops lol

There will definitely be no drill brackets on the market for Mustangs. A Mustang forum might be better able to answer which ones work best.
After looking it seems a guy named Craig makes brackets that everyone seems to like so I'm ordering his.

And lol, I'm not chancing it, a mustang is never invisible to cops... Ecoline vans are a lot more invisible than sports cars.

Still can't get behind the new design... Makes me thankful to have my 2014 instead so I guess that's good.

I got told off before for talking about a hypercar in here but frig it, some of you might be interested. Two LaFerrari videos just popped up in my YouTube subs if you fancy a look at it, seems whatever embargo was on it is up now. I've them downloaded to pass the time on my commute tomorrow.

That car is stunningly beautiful. And so much power!
I willingly bow to our future hybrid overlords.
Still one of the stupidest names for a car ever though.

Let's keep this hypertrain rolling though. The P1 is my favorite of the 3 upcoming hybrid/hypers.

Huh? Who would tell you to stop talking about hypercars? That's like half the fun with being an enthusiast.

Anyways, wicked videos. And yes, the embargo lifted today.

Meh, the new McLaren's do nothing for me. Boring styling, cheap easy way of getting power via turbocharging, not high revving. They're fancier, mid engined versions of the GTR and not true exotics. 1+ Mil for a Turbo V8? I can get that on a 5-series for 65K. Come on....a true hypercar needs 10 or 12 cylinders, because sound matters.

Ferrari revs to 9000, and that's reason enough to choose it over the McLaren for me, without even going into the styling issues with the McLaren.

Still fuck ugly, but those rev shifts literally send shivers down my spine.

I'd post more, but not sure what the posting limits are for spamming.

edit: In the Top Gear P1 video, the little tail wiggle at the end while he's going through the uphill chicane makes my pants fit tight.

I know turbos are taking over, but ask anyone who watches F1, how fun it is this year and how good the sounds are. When you're spending hypercar money, you're immune to emissions or fuel economy regulations and only go with what appeals to your heart. And that's the Ferrari. Porsche is 2nd place and McLaren is a distinct third.

Any day of the week I will take a smaller, lighter, equally performing turbo'd engine over a comparable N/A engine. Especially now that direct injection is mainstream. Gas turbo engines now have the torque curves of a diesel, and that's a damn good thing.

Sure the Ferrari engines have a nice noise for the most part, but a turbo whine holds a special place in my heart.

Nobody ruins my family vacation but me...and maybe the boy!
AutoGAF, sorry to break up the sexy hybrid hypercar porn... but I need advice.

First I'll tell the story of what happened. I was out for a movie with friends and I was driving back home. I was in the parking lot of the theater, waiting to make a left turn and it was raining really heavily so my windows were all fogged up and covered with condensation from the rain. So when I made the left turn, I ended up driving over a median(at a low speed mind you, because I was still in the lot), which I could not see thanks to the rain, the glare from the headlights of other cars and the fact that it was dark. I drove back home and drove to work today and everything seems to be ok....

So here's my question, is there any chance anything, other than my ego, is damaged even though the car is driving just fine? (Steering wheel is not vibrating, wheels are all straight, tires look ok and didn't lose any air)

Do you have an auto shop you frequent? Get them to do an inspection, shouldn't be very expensive.

I just got one done today. I was forced to drive through a very deep pothole (downtown Chicago in traffic, no way to avoid it). Car drove ok afterwards but I got it checked any way. There might have been problems that were not immediately apparent. (Like a torn boot). Fortunately, no major damage for me other than some scratches on the control arms.

No replacement for displacement and no replacement for revs. An engine displacing upwards of 6 liters doesn't need turbos to have great low end torque.
At hypercar prices, it's not just about the specs, but about intangibles like emotion, feeling, and sound. All of which are best in the Ferrari. A 9000rpm V12 is a glorious thing.

Yo, I found your car then.

...cut...

There's probably nothing major depending on how bad of a hit it took while going over the median. From the way you describe it though it sounds like it was pretty low impact.

I second whatsinaname though. If you have a mechanic you trust I would recommend bring it to him and seeing if he will check it out for you. He might even look it over for free, but $20-50 would be a normal charge I'd say.

Good luck! Hope nothing was damaged.

Probably not. What kind of car is it?

You'd have noticed if something were off immediately. At slow speeds, you can't even knock off the alignment of the car. Did you bottom out and hit any of your body panels (front, middle, rear)? If not, I highly doubt you did any damage.

Hmmmm that's probably a good idea even without taking into consideration yesterday's incident, there's so many damn potholes in this city. Sucks because I got my tires rotated just last week, could have gotten it checked out then.

Yeah it was low impact, I must have been going 15-20 kph(9-12 mph) tops.

It's a Chevy Volt.

I checked the underside of the car as soon as I got home. There was a small rough patch under the rear bumper on the driver side of the car, but nothing other than that.

Thanks for the advice guys, it certainly made me feel better :p

Still should get it checked out, but it looks like there shouldn't be anything that needs to be fixed urgently.

As far an engine noise goes. I love it when it's great, but I'm weird in the sense that I also don't mind it when it's missing. In an EV like a Tesla, or that lap TG did with the EV SLS AMG, I was turned on by the technology instead of the sound. A great sounding engine has always been icing on the cake to me.

You may as well get it checked out, but if it was an urgent problem it would already be too late.

My grandmother once drove over a concrete parking block in a new Cadillac, gashing the oil pan. The engine was seized before she made it out of the parking lot.

I still think Ford went to tame with the front, I know they want a sleeker looking car that appeals to more than Americans but I feel like it lost some of its aggressiveness in the looks. Also they need to find a better way to do the traditional mustang tail light if they still want to go that way because that's the worse part of the new car.

Those bronze wheels. The 1970 AAR 'Cuda inspired hood. I NEED THIS IN MY VEINS RIGHT MEOW.

The first person to buy one and drive by a Greenpeace meeting with a middle finger raised to the passers-by is my new hero.

That thing looks wicked. I'm loving the hood too.

While the P1/918/LaFerrari are all amazing, if I were rich I think I'd buy a new Vanquish.

I know the other cars are much faster but I don't care. The Aston is just beautiful. I love the proportions, the long hood, the shape of the quarter panels, and the sound of that V12..

If you had the $$$ to pay Ferrari. Chris Harris /DRIVE video won't be out till late May.

One thing I really like about the LaFerrari is that the hybrid-ness is only there to increase performance.

This is true with all three.
The 918 may be playing the green card more than the others, but the only reason it's a hybrid is to have the wicked power and acceleration that the system provides. Porsche was one of the companies that pioneered the entire thing in the first place anyways.

No, there were two embargoes. One of them was lifted on the 29th. The first embargo was for magazine-based companies (that's why Evo, AutoCar, and Top Gear have released their videos), the second is for freelancers, online, and select other media outlets. Ferrari basically dictates who they're letting publish first.

What about for people that like to drive? :p

So, so horribly wrong.

I have always liked German suspension and handling.
If that's not your thing then yeah there's lots of options.

As far as fit and finish though with low-end priced sedans, I don't think VW is beat by many. Sure the 6th gen has cheaper materials inside in the US, but they are still superior to other manufactures in my mind.

Ford would be a close second though with their redesigns of the Fusion, Focus, and Fiesta.

If you are looking for sporty and 4-door there are always hot hatches.

Handling might be great, but there's no feel, no soul. It feels like there's this giant interface between you and the car that does all the translating, rather than talking directly to it.
