I saw something shocking this weekend in Vancouver, BC. I saw a totally unmarked beige Camry pull over someone. It looked like a normal Camry until the hidden red and blue lights in the windshield and corner lights came on!
I've seen some stealth, black cop cars (usually Chargers) but nothing as sneaky as a beige Camry! That's just playing dirty.

i'm thinking of modding my car, and after doing some research, the flash tunes seem to have the same power increase as piggybacks, but also come with awesome extra features not possible with piggybacks.
problem is, piggybacks can be removed prior to dealer visits where as flash tunes can't.
what have your experiences been like with either type of tune while at the dealer?

I am picking up a 335i as a project car this weekend so I can help you out.
I highly recommend starting with a Juicebox 4 first, this is by far the safest/easiest way with the added benefit of being able to run back end flashes simultaneously.
Get JB4 G5, install it, and pick Map 1. Run that for a week or two. Issues will arise if you need new coils or spark plugs so I recommend changing those as soon as you get the car, they're cheap anyways, coil packs are like $30-40/each.
After that you can decide if you want more power.

yeh i was very heavily leaning toward a JB4 + BMS intake for Map 1 power plus the added sound of the intake.
but after looking further into things, i'm also considering getting a VF Engineering tune with Maximum PSI bolt ons. a lot of the tunes offer almost equal power, but this one offers the added benefit of some sweet sound enhancements offered in the new GTS.
i'm probably gonna drive down to Maximum PSI to take a ride in one of their cars first. i believe they run JB4 on their shop car which happens to be the fastest F80 in the world right now.
i honestly just want some sound enhancement plus extra power for track days. don't really need any more power for daily duties.

I like, I like. I'm a bit of a Lexus fanboy anyway, so definitely no complaints here! I also like the looks (but not the price) of the RC - F and the GS - F.

Honestly the S55 already has enough power for track days, it's underrated from the factory. I'd invest in a tune that can run E85 for its cooling properties and maybe look into making sure the oil cooler is up to par. The car really just needs more grip and brakes, the power level is already at a sweet point for track IMO.
The S55 makes so much power and torque effortlessly with a tune that you might start to begin combatting wheelspin.

Interesting question. I saw this during lunch so I started paying attention as to how my feet are on the clutch.
Anyway, my foot goes up and my toe(idk what the proper term is so let's call the upper foot area that lol) pushes the clutch towards all the way to the firewall. Then for release, I pull back my foot and my heel automatically lands and rests on the floorboard before I move it towards the dead pedal.
I wear US size 9.5 to 10 for shoes, for reference.
As for performance driving, in regards to NC Miatas at least... I find that shifting smooth and steady works out better instead of quickly jamming the shifter in the gate as fast as you can. The revs drop at a steady but slow pace when upshifting and it seems like it's perfectly in time with the revs dropping and the hand motion to shift gears. I've tried shifting fast in it and it just never seems to work since the RPMS are still too high on one end.
Downshifting on the other hand, it's kind of a pain sometimes. Either I blip the gas too much or it's not enough so I blip it twice lol. This is probably a personal problem instead of the car haha.

Man the craziest one I've seen was a Toyota Avalon. A Camry would be a bit too naughty. That's crazy.
There's an unmarked orange charger sitting at the bottom of a long hill by me. Almost everyday he's pulling people over for coasting 35-40 downhill. Occasionally he parks it around the corner and pulls people over on foot by simply walking into the middle of the street and pointing sternly. Imagine wasting your day doing that.

And yeah, I give credit to Lexus for trying at least, even though things like the RCF fall flat. Acura's lineup is fucking ridiculously boring other than the NSX. Acura needs another RSX, or Type S TLX, or something ffs. Why would I get a glorified slightly more upscale Accord when I can get an Infiniti Q50/60 or even a GS350 F Sport?

Honda/Acura have been rotating around the toilet bowl for a while regarding "sports cars". The last hope for enthusiasts that drive normal cars and not 100k+ "super cars" would be some sort of S-series car. We all know that's never gonna happen. Honda sells nice, safe appliances now and have been since the early 2000s.

I agree but strangely enough those are popular. Lexus still seems to sell many SUV's and Crossovers so the "aggressive" front ends on those cars do not seem to have hurt them much.
And truthfully, if I was in the market for a brand new luxury SUV or crossover (yuck!) I would still strongly consider one of their vehicles. Being well built, insanely reliable and extremely quiet and comfortable will get you a long way in many consumer's minds.

I hate the new lexus styling. I was at the auto show last november with my dad, and he loved the new lx570, but would never get one because of that front end. And we pretty much agreed that all their new models are not that attractive.

I'm probably the only one here who likes the spindle grills. But I still see them everywhere so it looks like the general masses don't mind or like the look. The problem with the new RX is that it is pretty slab sided so the base wheels look way too small and cheapen the vehicle's looks.
