Holy shit how did they live? The driver got out and pulled the passenger out before the car caught fire. Some lucky assholes right there. http://jalopnik.com/video-shows-lamborghini-huracan-doing-208-mph-on-highwa-1680367973

Beautiful cars.

Here's what was in the shop while my Scud was in for the PPI (there were two of these).

xNNQ0XO.jpg

On another note, I'd probably have a Huracan if I could properly fit in it. I sat in it during a private viewing months before the release and have driven it multiple times on both the road and track; not happening. Fantastic car, though. For actual drivers, better than the Aventador by far.

Super hot. Never seen a FLF in person. Ferrari's super picky about who gets one. A dealer said they had 6 deposits, but only was 1 chosen because he already has a Ferrari collection.

Ok. I have to ask at this point. Are all of you guys hedge fund managers or something?

Mostly game industry, web 2.0 or entertainment industry people who are also car people. The broker peeps are east coast. I'm west coast. You would know all of them if I named them tbh, but obviously I'm not going to say who's who. :)

Yet another reminder that money does not buy brains.

Video of somebody in a Huracan showing off to his friend going over 200mph on the highway and crashing spectacularly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHp3jqRj-jg

If you have a fast vehicle, be responsible and take it to the track.

Wow... Insane. They're very fortunate to be alive. The problem with going 200MPH+ is that the minor adjustments you do all the time at 65MPH on the highway are major endevours at that speed. I've never gone 200MPH, but been pretty close on a track and it's both incredible and terrifying. Also going that fast for too long distorts your reality of speed. Suddenly dropping it down to 130MPH feels like going 30MPH, which can make you misjudge stuff easily. I think it's less about brains or skills and more about muscle memory and proper technique (though open road is always dangerous at high speeds because it's so unpredictable).

These expensive supercars are built to a ridiculously high safety standard.

There was a dude years ago that crashed his Enzo into a light pole at crazy high speeds. Car was split in half, but the guy walked out without a scratch.

STI's are sick man! Post more pix! :) You buying summer tires? Going to autocross it at all?

Congrats on the purchase btw!

It came with Dunlop Sportmaxx Tires, it's winter here so they didnt even see the road.
Before I took it home from the dealership I bought Enkei RKM3's and put a set of Bridgestone Blizzaks on the car.

So far i have Tint 30% all around and rally armor flaps and that's it haha.

I'll try to get some more pictures this weekend, since we are in the middle of winter it's dark in the morning when I leave for work and dark at night by the time I get home, making it hard to take photos of a car.

No issues really did it in my garage in about 45 minutes.

The hardest part was the rear ones cause there wasn't much clearance between the back tire and the fender to fit the screwdriver..I made it work though.

So I've got about a year left on my Jaguar XF 5.0 (I usually always lease one car to write off). And I'm torn about what to get next. My choices thus far have been:

**The Infinitis I would only get if the 3.0Ts are available in them, by then.

If the 3.0s arrive in the Infinitis, I'll likely drive both and decide if getting a coupe is worthwhile for me. At the moment, though, the Merc CLS550 is actually my front-runner. but it's expensive as fuck to lease. So I may end up buying it instead. Not sure. Hopefully the programs next year will be solid for them.

Based on my experience of most but not all of these, the Merc no question. Anything except the Range Rover which is exclusively driven by douchebags. The Jag is redundant for you and obviously I can't opine on the Q60 yet but I suspect I'd love it.

BMW M235i for me. Pretty sure it will be my next car. I was about to get a BRZ last year but talked myself out of it after I drove the M235.

Yeah, the Range is a distant contestant.

Another Jag wouldn't actually be limited to just an XE, we're opened to getting another XF, but it'd be a 5.0SC or XFR from this gen. Also this year the XF is expected to get a new revision. I don't know how much they can do to the car, because it's arguably the best looking mid-size sedan on the market. But we'll see. Anyways, we've really loved owning our XF so far. And if it continues not giving us a problem until the lease ends, we'll gladly get another one.

Yeah, when I drove the M235i, it really blew me away. I hated what BMW did to the 4-series. But the 235i is virtually an E46 M3 + E92 335is combined into one perfect package. There's really no better way to explain it.

Is this perhaps what you may have heard of?

Alpha, you're still rocking the M45 alongside the Jag, right?

I'd go with whatever's the most different from that, either in handling or utility I suppose. CLS is hot as fuck though.

Also, if you don't mind sharing, how do you do your write-off with the lease? We've been talking about leasing a car and writing it off as as a company expense. Do you do that, or just as a way of paying less sales tax?

2013 M56S, I haven't had it for a year yet. But I've put 15K miles on that beast in my 11 months of ownership. I drive it everywhere. Trips to Palm Beach and Miami are a cake walk. Even in NYC this car was absolutely amazing. The front lip on the Aero bumper is rocked chipped to death though. I need to repaint and clear bra it.

M45s were the old body, btw, dating back to 2002 (and then 2005).

Writing off a lease is simple: if you're self employed or own a business, you simply tell your accountant and he will write portions of the lease off as a business expense. I believe you can even write off gasoline fillups, as well, among other things. If you're company leases a car as a "fleet vehicle" and lets you have it, they write off the expense on their side.

God damn it. I typed M56 at first. Embarrassing.

Yeah I think from what I read last time I looked at it that you can write off part of the lease payment, and then EITHER the gas payments, or the cost of service, or something like that.

Holy shit at some of the cars in here! Where can I apply to be some of your friends >.<

Was going to post my VW Golf R but I think I'll leave it off this page, don't want to spoilt it :p

Anybody with clean Evos now, I HIGHLY suggest holding on to them and taking care of them. They will appreciate in value with time.

Who here has a Challenger? Are they as terrible a drivers car as they look? Large and unwieldy, but still fun to drive? Or are the other options - Mustang GT 5.0 or Camaro v8 better choices?

Don't own one, and I've only driven it and the Camaro. As a car to own, I'd rather have the Challenger. It's more comfortable, visibility isn't as bad, humans can fit in the back seat, and the trunk's a pretty good size. I thought driving it was fine, but I drive old land yachts, so my definition of large and unwieldy is a bit different than most people.

The Camaro is a lot of fun, though. But I'd wait to see the next Camaro before pulling the trigger on a pony car. Judging by the Cadillac ATS, it should be pretty great to drive. I think if I buy a car within the next year or so, it'll be between the Camaro, Challenger, and maybe the new Volt.

new car pic/porn. i'm so in love.

I know front license plates are required in CA...but take it off man. Looks so good without it! I do believe it's a secondary offense and a cop can't pull you over for it, but he can give you a fix it ticket if you get pulled over for something else. Don't quote me on that though.

I see so many people without front plates. My brother has been driving his BRZ without one for a year now and he's had no issues anyway.

Wait for the M2. It is going to be what the M3/4 should have been.

I don't know if I want to pay the M premium. The M2 will boast 375HP, which is fantastic, but it's nothing that a few mods to the M235i can't fix. It's also most likely going to remain an N55 motor.

For sure though, the M2 will feature wider bodywork, a sharper suspension, and an LSD out back. But the LSD and suspension I can always work on my own...although if it's a lease, do I really care that much?

*shrug* Decisions.

Yeah, the Benz is really tugging at my heart with its looks. I just need dealers to get some decent fucking lease deals on these cars. I am NOT paying $800 a month for a $65K car. The projected depreciation curve on the car must be terrible if the banks are not incentivizing the cars at all.

Not only does the CLS look gorgeous though, but it moves. Holy shit does this car roar and scurry about. It may be quicker than my M56S. :|

And it even handles very, very well! It's so low, its center of gravity doesn't allow for a lot of excessive motion.

I hear ya. I feel like the Range is just different from what you've had so far though. Is the CLS due for a refresh anytime soon? Having a Range and the M56S is a pretty great combo.

The CLS just got a mild refresh with an updated interior.

Wife and I don't really think we want an SUV. We don't see the need for it. Plus, it also leases poorly.

Buuuuuuuut, my close friend works for Jaguar-Land Rover. And if he can get me a lease via friends and family discount, then I'll do it. It shaves a ton of money.

I went by a local Dodge dealership to sit inside a 2015 Challenger w/ Scat pack. Did the same for a ZL1 about a month back. I realize at the price point of either car I could get a Stingray 1LT with Z51 package, but I'm still drawn to the pony cars. I just don't know what I want. I've got time and I'm not in a rush. The Hellcat, for all of its outrageousness still appeals to me.
