Autumn Anime 2015 |OT| Like leaves on a tree… we’re falling one by one.

Why would anyone be interested in some silly high school version of Attack on Titan when the interest came from you know the freaking premise right in the title?

But the series isn't about an attack on one of Saturn's moons.

It's a spin-off comedy/parody. It doesn't seem to be a good one, but the appeal isn't difficult to grasp. Making fun of a super edgy grimdark series like this is a workable premise.

Honestly, I didn't care for titans or the attacking of.

I wanted to read about Sasha's quest to eat a potato.

Asterisk War 02

That was textbook anime.

Will keep watching.

Cavalry 02

That was textbook anime.

Will keep watching.

Lol.

Asterisk 02

And...

Cavalry 02

Decided to watch both side by side to check which one I like the most. Last week I said I like Cavalry better. And after having watched the second episode of both, I still think the same. They are both LN trash. But Cavalry just cracks me up. It's shameless and keeps having fun with itself. I'll continue watching both, but Cavalry still gets my vote lol.

Sometimes the goofy side stuff is fun.

when you want to see rampant flanderizations of characters in goofy scenarios

I see. Well, I guess if people like them more power to them. Just seemed weird to me because it is so divorced from the initial premise.

Baselius: you are trying to pun me to death, aren't you! XD

Utawarerumono 2:

Drastically in need of Kuon perving on Haku.

Young Black Jack 02

Pretty good episode. Felt shounen as fuck at times, but somehow it works in this show's favour lol. I enjoyed the outcome as well. Good stuff.

That scenario in Young Black Jack is pretty tame compared to other achievements Black Jack has done in the original series. In all honesty Black Jack isn't about being a realistic depiction of medical surgery but all about the medical drama and moral dilemmas Hazama faces. Him being a genius and seeing how he solves most things through surgery is part of the fun but the main treat is the overall themes the series conveys. Like how this episode portrayed what being a Doctor truly is and if saving ones life from another is morally right.

Let's be real here Black Jack is basically Medical Jesus.

Kuon is this season's best girl. Haku is the laziest MC. And this anime is probably under a lot of people's radar, but it is legitimately good. Pretty happy that it is a 2-cour, it turned out to be a very nice surprise.

Yeah I am liking the show so far. I'd be lying if I said I knew what the outcome for today was going to be. One that I noticed about Hazama is that he seems to like money. I mean it's only fair for what he does, but if it were some other show, the MC would simply do it "for the greater good and ask for nothing in return".

Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid Episode 1:

So yea, how to describe this? I think the best I can come up with is what if there existed the lesbian porn version of Soul Eater?

It's like if someone merged Soul Eater with Cross Ange and made it just barely not hentai.

Yeah Utawaremono 2 is good. First series was also good, but I'm liking the new one better so far since Kuon and Haku are more interesting leads than Hakuoro and Elulu

Last one for the night, phew...

Owarimonogatari 02

New OP is so good, so trippy. Oikura is one crazy bitch. Senjou put her in her place.

Something I've come to notice about Ougi is how much she draws me in when she talks. The pauses between words, her constant questioning of things that she clearly knows about, the dead fish eyes staring into my soul whenever she looks at the screen. She's creepy.

Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid 01

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. Who's the crazy fucker who allowed this onto TV? This is some Queen's Blade/Seikon no Qwaeser tier stuff. There's zero point in waiting to watch screencaps of the BD like with Testament either.

Can't beat Yabuki, but ya did good

Everything was so on point in this episode. I think the multiple POVs really helps expand the world in a really natural way.

Mushishi 16
I liked this one due to Ginko's inability to address the problem. Episode actually came across as how mental illness might be explained in a less medically advanced society.

Space Adventure Cobra 16
Yeah, I was concerned I wouldn't be all in on the rugball stuff given the sports angle but this first ep of the arc was just perfect what with Cobra being a constant disruption by fucking with anyone and everyone.

Noragami Aragoto 02

Beautiful and heartbreaking episode. It's amazing how well they developed Suzuha and Yukine's relationship in such little time. I also find the whole situation in Bishamon's household to be a really interesting plot to follow. They've made her a really great sympathetic antagonist. I'm eager to see if they can keep this pace up. Absolutely awesome start to the season.

Watching S2 of Log Horizon here (not sure why I didn't watch it when it was airing)
But why are there impoverished adventurers? Don't you get gold just for killing monsters? It's not like the economy or unemployment etc matters when you can just go grind low level monsters.

How far are you in S2? They kind of explain it later.

I think the idea was they were too scared to fight low level monsters, even if they should have the ability to. Elder Tales wasn't a VR game before they got sucked into it. Even if they logically know there is no way they could lose, they're afraid to fight because it scares them going up against actual monsters. And that's assuming these adventurers were high leveled to begin with

I came to the assumption that simply grinding on monsters possibly wasn't enough to make money. Most MMOs you don't make much money simply grinding on monsters. Sure you get some gold but not a whole lot. But becoming a merchant or high level raider can net you good money. They also address it to a certain extent but I can't exactly remember to what ends.

Sure but I mean they've been here for over a year now.
If they were too scared to fight monsters so they couldn't make money, then this shouldn't be an issue that is suddenly presenting itself in the series.
And if the reason was they were too scared or low leveled, then it seems to me like it would just be a matter of teaming them up with stronger players so maybe they can gain some levels and confidence.
And also, in this world where they get middle school kids to challenge a dungeon by themselves for training, it seems kinda hard to take that 'too scared' angle seriously (if it even presented it that way, I don't remember).

Well now I forget the whole reason. I think its because money is finite or something along those lines.
I don't believe money in the game is finite. Monsters come with money when they spawn.

Most MMOs you can still make enough money to buy food and sleep somewhere though lol. These people are just sitting in the streets doing nothing.

Oh well, not a big deal I guess.

I think it's functionally infinite but they had the whole thing where Glasses-kun had to go to the realm of the money gods or whatever to negotiate with the clan so that the money magic would keep working or he could get a loan or whatever in that first little half-arc of S2.

I think the deal with improvishment was it was supposed to be more about despair and people being like 'we're fucking stuck here forever aren't we' than anything else

Damn. I didn't realise there were no more novels left to cover of Log Horizon. Now it's going to be like 100 years before a season 3.
Why did the author's pace drop so much after 2011 anyway? Too busy avoiding taxes?
