Yeah they added weird sound effects to a lot of those GBA ports.

For me, it's weird not to hear him do it, since every instance of Yoshi I grew up with grunted when he fluttered.

They did a skip alright, though a very different 2-frame tight one that sent them to 1-1 (that I hadn't even seen before, looks like I thought of the wrong skip)
