Axios: Adviser says it's finally dawned on Trump: "People really fucking hate me."

Also I think people are underestimating if Turmp and Dems pass something really popular, Trumps gonna see the approval jump slight (maybe 3-5%) and hes gonna go through the roof.

Those would be the centrist/mods that voted trump but got turned off from the shittyboy policy

He's going to hemorrhage conservative republicans though with moves like this. What he did wasn't bipartisan, it was straight up betrayal.

Trump does something that isn't completely fucking stupid or cruel

"This is the day Donald Trump became president. At least until the next time he does something that demonstrates he is unfit for office. So, let's try to have these two days, folks."

I dont believe a fucking word of that article, and the people responsible for writing it should know better than to peddle out this sappy feel good bullshit when the overwhelming evidence points to this clown doing whats in his best interest. A part of me feels like we are going to see a lot more of these articles trying to pump him up after that TaNehisi Coates proper roasting.

This. It's been three fucking weeks since Trump defended actual Nazis.

Narcissists only care about stoking their own ego. They are convinced they are God's gift to man or whatever and it is very hard for them to see outside that bubble.

Even though they crave the attention and flattery from others. It's a contradiction. But that reaffirms how awesome theynare, and they like that, because inside they are very insecure.

Trump will do whatever makes people love him. He can probably get away with this kind of deal making a bit, at least for shit his base doesn't care about. Don't expect him to backpeddle on his wall or his racism. I'm skeptical he does anything for the Dreamers because it will make his base angry.

But Trump supporters won't see it that way, right? They'll just erase all their anti-Democrat tweets and say stuff like "You see? I've ALWAYS loved the Democrats and always thought Trump should ally with them! As a hardcore Republican, like Trump, I'm not a hypocrite, and if you ignore my deleted posts on social media, you'll see that I've always been behind this idea! Also, if he starts enforcing gun control and embraces immigrants, I'll have always hated racism and guns too!"

Who knows what he'll do?

No one, which is the issue. It's not as if he has any strong beliefs one way or the other... He just goes whichever way the wind blows that day.
How can people say this after all the shit that happened after Charlottesville? Dude is pretty consistent in his disdain of non-whites.

He really does live in a fucking bubble if it took him this long to come to this realization. Hope he does become a turncoat but I'm not holding my breath

You're reading the wrong thing into the positivity. People are just happy we might be able to manipulate him into doing stuff we want.

He's still a giant asshole we want gone.

This. I want him impeached, but if we can somehow stop the Republican party from doing more damage and the Democrats can get some decent legislation passed in the meantime, it's certainly an improvement from things thus far. Trump will always be an evil piece of shit though.

That's true. Racism seems to be the one area where he actually shows some idealistic commitment. Then again, that's been well documented as far back as the 1970s.

The President of the United States. He will change major policy based on fucking Morning joe and Mika and CNN saying nice things about him?

Lol wtf did the morons who voted him in do?

No one outside of die hard Trumpsters likes this buffoon. I will be very happy if republicans in Congress grow weary of his betrayals. It makes it a lot easier to undermine them. Trumpa only real ideology is white supremacy but he will even cover that up to an extent if he feels it strokes his ego for that particular day.

The way this article is framed is BS though

lacks enthusiasm.
Yup. Don't they get invited to special events for the white house a lot too?
Not sure on that bit, but they definitely have connections to conservative sources in the administration. It's just that I don't trust their stories to be anything more than well-massaged messaging at this point.

If he's doing this just to be liked that should make him even more hated. He literally ran on he platform of making America better and he can only think of himself and his image.

This story seems like propaganda to me and feels akin to telling a partner whom you've abused that you can(or have) changed and that it "won't happen again". It's hollow and this shows even more so what his real concerns are; people are saying very mean things about him and he hates it.

Even if this starts him working between the aisles if it's all just for him to look better it's still awful and the wrong reason to be doing it.

I think he just loves attention and loves winning. Debt ceiling is the first serious win he has had. And it wasn't due to republicans.

I mean... I don't think people expect him to change who he is.

The question is really - would he change policy? He's never been controlled by party lines... He just wants to be beloved.

That doesn't make him any more fit for office, but it's interesting to see if he changes his policy...

Ideally, he resigns entirely, but y'know.

He hasn't got that much praise. Mostly commentary about how dumb he is. He handed the Dems a huge win when he didn't need to. The public doesn't care.

That's my expectation too, but it would be a turn for the ages if he suddenly flips to pushing Democratic policies. Could you imagine how many heads would explode if he endorsed Medicare for All suddenly? I could see a few ways someone could successfully pitch it to him.

A President who could get the Republican Party to go along with that (or more likely, outflank them with just enough Republicans augmented by unanimous Democratic Party support) could legitimately lay claim to be the greatest Republican President since Lincoln.

I don't like the guy, but if he went for that and achieved it I'd have to rethink the American political climate.

Is this a joke? Hes literally spent his adult life race bating, siding with white supremacists, and actively trying to make like worse for POC and women and were supposed to welcome him with open arms because he's "seen the light"????

Fuck that. Nothing will ever change the fact that hes sided with the party that wants to erase people like me off the planet if they could. All bc he made one deal that he didn't understand stand he got played in by the Dems.

I swear if the media starts fawning over him and this bullshit "pivot".........

this is his heel turn
he's going to realize the error of his ways up to this point and take up the mantle of Obama and become the next Dem prez

coming out from the shadows and being purified by the light
it's gonna be like the ending of the Dark Crystal and when it's all over only the goodness deep inside of 45 will be left and the corruption of the white house and congress will be defeated

or maybe he's truly an idiot

The best possible outcome of a pivot is trump, a bad hombre, doing good things purely for praise and appreciation. The right thing for the wrong reason is the best case scenario imo, and I still don't trust him to think he'd do much right even when he's actively trying

Uh, he's a Nazi sympathizer with Nazis on his staff. Not going to change.

100% true. He'll forget he ever said this next time he watches Fox News fellate him on national television.

On the plus side, I think everytime I remember this quote, for the rest of my life it will get a genuine laugh out of me

Fox News praised Democrats the other night for working with Trump, unlike that snake Paul Ryan.

Don't forget his admin like Jeff Sessions is actively doing things to harm people.
Cutting back laws to stop pollution in drinking water, cutting back laws to prevent college rape, etc etc. Maybe Chuck and Nancy can convince him that he'll get great ratings for the impeachment trial.

I love how quickly people will support a racist misogynist if he says one thing that they might agree with.
"Support"? No.

But if Trump were to vote in socialized healthcare, I would give him the praise he deserves for that. I would not vote him, and I would want him to get impeached, but you can disapprove of a person without irrationally hating every thing that person does.
