Driving back home one night I saw some creepy ass dude in the middle of the road, praying to something on the ground.

It is really common here.

Farmers at least understand the more ethical means of killing these animals. All I can hope is that she isn't putting them through horrible endings as she sacrifices them. I don't know if she eats them after, or if she just tosses them, so I can't comment on that.
