So, has anybody come across this bug?, or I think it's a bug, whatever. I quicksaved after disarming a trap, then when I quickload that save, the trap sets off and of course I take damage and every time I quickload that save it always sets off and always take a bit more of hp.
There were a few traps in the Underdark, between the Spectator and the Bullette, that wouldn't ever disarm even on a successful roll. They are still spewing poison and fire to this day.

Oh boy, I put in some serious progress last night, better get the save back ASAP

They're aiming to release the updated hotfix by "the end of the day" if all goes well.

I'm intrigued by the hype and might give it a try when it's out on PS5. But considering I didn't like Divinity OS2 (but loved BG 1 & 2 back then), what are the chances I'll enjoy this one?

DOS2 was too hardcore for me and a bit boring. Way too much lore and reading, too many complicated systems thrown at you from the start and the worst of all: open world. I didn't like how it doesn't give you a direction of what to do and where to go, but let you try and fail from trial and error. I also hate the art style and BG3 doesn't look very different. But I tend to like the combat system and the challenge of this kind of game.

D&D Ruleset 5E plays nothing like DOS2.

Not as much of a thing in BG3

I guess you could say the systems are complicated (though it should be easier to learn them with all the available DnD resources online) and it is sort of open world-ish, definitely to similar degrees DOS2 was.

I didn't like how it doesn't give you a direction of what to do and where to go, but let you try and fail from trial and error.
Yeah, game doesn't give you much direction either.

Combat system is pretty good

I don't think you'll enjoy this based on the above, but you can refund on Steam with under 2 hours of playtime if you do wanna give it a go.

Goddamn, Gnoll archers with "multi-shot", fuuuuuuck off......

I need more info how it is calculating attack rolls. Lae'zael hitting at 35% makes no sense. Is there some way to pull up more data? I can probably figure it out myself but it is hard to see every rule it is using.

There are tons of variables involved, you should first and foremost check if she's proficient in all the equipment she's using

my favourite part in the whole game is just pushing cunts off cliffs and shit.

In the Underdark, theres a dwarf that is guarding the boat you need to take... you can do a shit load of things for him to make them happy, or you can fight them which is a really tough fight... or, you can just power up your barb and push the fucker into the sea and take his boat. Problem solved.... BUT

You don't get away with it cleanly. If you take his boat that way, another dwarven ship is on the sea and wonders why you are riding another dwarven boat, and a sea battle ensues. To which you can again, push the bitches into the sea, or deceive them, or... many other things. So much choice, so much consequence. Amazing.

Alright, I think I’m sold on this game. I first started as an “origin” character just to get into it quickly, but I think that actually harmed my initial impression. I played for maybe 30 minutes and quit.

A few days later, I restarted and clicked “randomize”. The game presented me a cute gnome with a cantrip that makes her staff use magical ability rather than physical. She can also speak with animals.

The game was far more interesting this time. I think its because my “origin” character choice was made strictly based on abilities (I wanted a heavy sword user), but my custom choice was based on interesting abilities. I had a timer set to warn me when my two hours were up, and I really didn’t want to quit the game when the alarm sounded.

I refunded the game for now, as I am strongly adverse to paying $80 for a digital game. Part of me is holding out for a sale. The rest of me suspects I will be paying full price this weekend.

PS: I really enjoy how the game makes you actually roll a D20 instead of just doing it behind the scenes. Whoever decided to implement this is a genius.

Is the Forge Golem fight bugged or something? Lever couldn’t be activated after one use. Seems a mess this fight, seems like every run attempts there’s a different fuckup.

I figured it out. She had great weapon mastery:crushing or whatever it is called. -5 to hit, but +10 to damage. I had to find the little "passive" tab under the bottom bar to get the choice to toggle it off. Not a great choice when fighting the high AC boss :p

Damn, not good, and I'm only in Act 1, which I heard is the most polished, and keep getting into more and more bugs.

I have been trying to romance Shadowheart but god damnit Gale is so smooth. How am I supposed to turn him down? :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Jokes aside, the character interactions in this game are so well written.

I was up for a bit of Shadowheart too, got as far as having a midnight bottle of wine followed by fingers and tops.

No second date seemed forthcoming, and then Lae'zel took a much more proactive interest, saying bluntly that she would be coming to my bunk after dark to "claim what is mine". It was pretty gross, I saw things I can never unsee.

I told her to leave me alone after a couple of bouts of that, and now Shadowheart has gone cold on me. Everyone else would be up for some - the most popular potion in the camp is surely Viagra - but Shadowheart is further away than ever. Might have to go celibate for the rest of the adventure.

Just coming back to post I finally made it to Act III and still am not seeing any performance issues on max with my 1080. Seems to run really well, I've only seen a few visual glitches here and there mostly related to cutscenes throughout my gameplay. (y)(y)

So confused on this newspaper quest in Act III... If I rest at camp it ends the quest and I lose out, but when I went in there every discussion route ended up kicking me out or having to kill them all. Surely I'm missing something here? I looked around for other entrances to the building and came away with nothing.. any hints without spoiling it all that anyone can provide to me?

Have you tried invisibility?

I'm currently at the Shadow Cursed Lands. Is it still Act 1 or am i at Act 2 already? Game didn't inform me that i'm at Act 2.

Spent about 8-10 hours in Act 3 already, had not even entered the Gates and don't see myself getting there in the next 8.
Jesus Christ on a bike, this game is endless.

it's the intro to act 2, but trust me, Act 2 is giant as is everything in this game.
The first time i really grasp the size and scope of this game is in Act 2 with the fight with Marcus when he tried to kidnap Isobel. The first time i lost the battle and in the aftermath (when you fight the whole inn) i lost a companion and i had to reload. The second time, i defeated Marcus and the inn was not succumbed to the shadow. That just branched the narrative in 2 parts and realized how each person can play basically a different game based on the outcome of an action.

Try it for two hours on steam and refund if you dont like it. Dont waste any time on character creation though. Go to the game and see for two hours. Make a character if you found that the game clicks for you

Yeah, I'm still in Act 1 myself as well, but seeing all the (mostly small) bugs here and there, in a part of the game that has been in EA for years, doesn't bode well for the next arcs.
Im in Act 2 and the only bug i have encountered was a small visual one where the cameras was either in a character or too high. Nothing gamebreaking.

Closing in on the end now, for real this time. Only the big bad left to fight and whatever may come after. Should be done tonight. Away for the weekend and then immediately starting run 2.

Gonna play tactician next time, my squad is obscenely powerful after a long rest.

One thing I don't really like is that you can kill a shopkeeper, but he won't have the gold on him. I mean - I get it, they didn't just want to let you murder shopkeepers for their whole inventory and whatnot but breaks my immersion a bit here. :messenger_grinning_squinting:

I see that shopkeepers often have a "Attitude" slider (can you affect this somehow?). Be cool if that heads to "extreme distrust" if you routinely kill other shopkeepers and thus have to pay waaay more later in the game. Or you draw the ire of some sort of cosmic police force that adds difficulty to battles. Or other shopkeepers start trying to sell you cursed items :p

I think the shopkeeper's attitude change based of how you act with him and around him with other NPCs

Pre ordered this last night PS5.

Have a feeling this is going to be too complicated for me. Might be time to start watching some YouTube videos.

I had one where I was dragging loads of pieces of junk into the barter window to try to scrape together enough cash to buy an item, and after a while a message popped up saying that the merchant was not happy with this trade.

The slider moved a bit towards the negative end, and he actually rasied his prices for me. Cancelled the trade and tried again with a different party member, and he raised them even further.

Yeah, exactly what I`m thinking, and I just manage to play it in short doses, because every time it's another bug and my immersion is broken. And it's a damn shame, it's a really good game.

This game is awesome, but wildly disappointed that....

The super hot elf chick I made as my dream companion that I was certain would end up being bae... IS A GODDAMN MINDFLAYER. What a bait and switch. There goes that love scene unless you're into some brain eating tentacle porn.
