Balrog is going to be in the Street Fighter V June update on Friday

This thread.

There's no goddamn way anyone is going to get enough at Balrog in time for Evo. We're talking less than a month's time of practice to fully optimize his kit.

All day every day training for 3 weeks is quite enough of time especially for someone like PR ROG with top players to train against.

never been big on Balrog before but I didn't like Bison either before SFV. I'll definitely give him a try - I love charge characters and I like the idea of a motion super. Also I still haven't spent any FM on either PS4 or PC.

Gotta remember to make sure I do all of the Guile/Alex stuff for free FM on both. Friday's a holiday here so I'll have time surprisingly.

Nevermind that, is he even going to be legal? Didn't Wizard say if the new character(s) weren't in by like the middle of this month they wouldn't be legal?

For most any game Wizard & co. ban anything that at least hasn't been out for a month for players to practice...

Wizard already confirmed both will be legal.

3 weeks on a new character definitely isn't enough time, haha. Besides, training that way is pretty bad for you.

Solid practice against good players with breaks >>> Nonstop training.

Why balrogs super looks so cheap?

I'm personally in the "short supers" camp, but the only thing I wish Gigaton Punch did was make the opponent spin head-over-heels like it did in Alpha. That was such a simple, but unique effect that made the move stand out.

They had a stream for her like a month ago. Maybe someone will play her against Balrog today.

Yeah, back in May the week before they announced the delay for the character released.

She has been on a couple or so streams, should be plenty of footage of her on youtube.

They had one the first week of June, right after her trailer dropped.

thanks, oh well, only a few more days

wonder if balrog can dash through dhalsim or fangs projectiles

His v-skill can go through anything if properly timed. Its like Cammy's v-skill, except you get 2 attack button follow-ups out of it, or u can not hit a button & get a follow up throw. YOu can also dash-punch & cancel into your v-skill

Does it have a few full-invincible frames? I saw Cammy cr. short him out of it while they were doing casuals, but I can't remember if she was stuffing him at his startup or while he was already into the turn.

EDIT: Someone uploaded the part where they were testing it. At one point it does look like he goes through her LK, although it could've conveniently happened when she had no active frames. Also hard to tell if the folks commentating are speculating or stating facts regarding the move. Guess I'll find out soon enough.
