Rumor denied by the Astros owner...basically confirming it, since he wouldn't say they didn't offer it for no reason.Joe said:the current rumor is that astro's offered beltran at least 6 years, $96 million.

Sactown said:Speaking of tools. I was watching Pulp Fiction earlier, and the scene were the big black guy gets raped was on. Bruce Wills went upstairs and looked at all the tools b4 finally deciding on the sword. The reason I bring that up wasd because there was a dude dressed in all black leather, I think they're called gimps. Anway when he saw Bruce Willis get free, he just made weird sounds, he didn't yell for help. Are gimps mentally ill, or is it just part of the act that they don't talk? I imagine in a stiuation like that, if he had the ability to yell, or talk, he probably would have said something. It would have saved 2 lives, and stopped tha cop from getting severe payback from the big black dude.

Edit: This sis the baseball thread, didn;t know, very sorry to disturb. In order to not look stupid, I think that Vazquez wil lbe a great pitcher, I wish that the Yankees don't trade him for RJ (even though he is my favorite pitcher of all time). Maybe they can get rid of Posada and someone else. El Duque was also the man, he will be missed.

I dunno Joe, I don't know if they have the pervasive, all encompassing NEED TO WIN that Papa Steinboss has. If they don't they might get bored and do a lackluster job of running the team. Of course, if Cashman were running the team with a $160 million payroll, it would be a better performing team than the bloated albatross that Steinbrenner has constructed.Joe said:you mean when he hands the team off to his sons who are already learning the steinbrenner way (they're current upper management employees).
if steinbrenner sold the yankees and bought the braves you'd be a pig in shit.
