Never in a million year, if what we've heard is all true, and I'm saying that as a NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, Wii U "first" owner (over other consoles at the time).
Probably day 1. I was about 3-4 years late on the current Switch, but one of the best consoles I've bought in years... really pulled me back in strongly.
If it's a cool device and worth it I will but if it kinda lacks in features and a shitty screen I will hold off for their oled model 2 years down the road.
Ever since the DS Lite I've been waiting a few years before dipping my toe. By that time the console has a good library of games and it's more likely you get a refreshed version or even mid-gen refresh. I got the Switch with better battery time for example. So I'll most likely do the same with Switch 2, but I don't care about waiting for a Pro version.
Probably not at launch. But it will depend on the price and announced games.
In my time with the Switch I've come to realize there are only a handful of Nintendo IPs I really care about (mostly 3D Zelda, Monolith games and Fire Emblem...if they don't go back to the 3 Houses style...which they probably will).
I could see myslef buying one down the line once it actually has a handful of cool games. Though at this point I'm honestly more interested in a potential Steamdeck 2.
That said if they do something unexpected an announce a Kid Icarus Uprising 2 or something like that it would be hard to resist.
Nope. Just haven't cared to play a Nintendo game since i became an adult. If there were games on there that weren't geared towards kids and are not re-makes or remasters i might be interested.
100%. In contrast to most other Nintendo devices, I'm going to try to really only use it for 1st party only and that's it. I'm kind of over investing in their ecosystem. I bought tons of indies on Switch 1. Even indies that are announced exclusive to Nintendo usually get ported in a year, or also launch on PC. 1st party alone is worth it for the system though. I haven't decided if I'll get it day 1 or not. Probably won't be freaking out about it, but will pick one up when I see it.
I could, potentially, have waited out the launch period and let the library grow if we were just talking new Switch 2 software. Plenty of Switch 1 titles I still want to polish off, and there's always my Steam backlog.
But, given that it'll also be BC with Switch titles (one of the few things we know from Nintendo themselves) and have significantly stronger hardware, I plan to preorder. I'm hoping for demonstrable performance benefits on my Switch 1 co-op library. Probably would have done the same with the mythical Switch Pro (but I'm weak like that).
LOL, it mostly depends if a new Animal Crossing is at launch. If so, wife will get one I'm sure, so I will have to track one down. Haha.
I'm kind of like wait and see for the games, eventually sure, there are quite a few SW1 games I have yet to play that I own that I need to get to. But if there is no big reason in my mind to jump on it at launch I'll wait.
if scalpers don't manage to put them out of stock , my switch oled is already gone so sooner the better , here's hoping they add 3ds game to the service as im on a hunt just now but the prices a terrible for the condition of them.
