Based on what we know of the Switch 2, are you getting one?

Will you order a Switch 2?

  • Yes, preorder day 1

  • Yes, but sometime after launch

  • Nah, not a Nintendo fan

I'm waiting for the showcase to decide. I skipped the Wii and bought the Wii U and Switch a couple years into their lifecycle, but a killer launch line-up could convince me to pre-order.

I'd have a hard time resisting if Splatoon 4 is somewhere in the mix and my wife will probably force the matter whenever Animal Crossing comes out.

I am. I won't overdo it to try to get a preorder in, but I'll certainly get it when I see for sale somewhere.

Aside from the Gamecube, which was GOATED, never bought another Nintendo console.

Their exclusives just don't do it for me.

Day1- for BC enhancement. Hopefully it will stabilize/enhance fps and picture quality on the titles that I have.

Quality titles will come along- so not much reason to buy one on day1. I will be on mass transit more often due to NYC congestion pricing- so I am looking forward getting one ASAP.

It was always a day one. Put off playing TOTK so I can play it on the Switch 2. I expect Xenoblade X will look a lot better on the 2 as well.

Yea will pick 1 up, wont preorder but down the line. The Switch is more my wifes thing, Animal Crossing and all that gangsta shit but I use it for a blast on Mario Kart now and then. Fingers crossed we can play the Zelda games 60fps then I can finaly get to play them aswell.

I'll get one for sure, on day one I dunno. I got all the Nintendo consoles on day one since the N64 (even the handhelds) and I've to say that usually it takes a couple of years before I actually start to play them.

Metroid Prime 4 and MK9 on day one are very likely and that's 2 games I am looking forward to play but I can't also say that they're my favorte licences ever. I hope a new Zelda like OoT or MM, I really disliked a lot BotW and TotK (for me they're just random games that took elements from the Assassin's Creed series, Elder Scrolls series and Souls series, and mixed them, badly, in an open world pointless game with no story to follow).

I'd like some great Mario 3D plateformers, a new Luigi's Mansion, I'm a fan of the Xeno series (since Xenogears <3), and well just great exclusives that I like.

The arrival of Xbox games on the Switch 2 could also be good, not for me since I already played them but I am just happy when I see more people having access to more games.

day zero preorders my friends

neeeever drop in prices and cost more from scalpers

Nothing that's been rumored or leaked is like a disqualifier for what any reasonable person would've expected from a successor to the Switch, based on Nintendo's stated premise of what they plan to do going forward. It'll be exactly what you think it is. And so far from the rumors and leaks, that's exactly what we're getting.

It's like, You either like the Switch and want the next one, or you don't.

As for specifically when I buy one? It's totally dependent on what the launch day games are and what the launch window games are. If it doesn't have that "big game that I have to have immediately", then I might be able to hold off for a bit.

Like, I'm definitely not buying a Switch 2 so that I can play $70 ports of games that I could've just bought on steam deck when they went on sale. I'm sure I'm not alone, in that I just need to see what the big first party games are gonna be.

Show me a futuristic next-gen looking Pokémon, the big vision for what Mario Kart is gonna be now, the huge AAA 3D Mario that has taken seven years to make for some reason, etc.

I will absolutely get a Switch. But my day one YOLO preorder is depending on the games. I'd really really like to see a new F-Zero, Starfox and/or Picross 3D.

I've fallen out of favor with Nintendo in my adult years. They objectively make good games but they don't really do much for me. There's only so much time for so much entertainment. I have a Switch but it collects dust. That said, of course I'm buying one.

I'll be preordering it. I just really hope the hardware's good enough for its intended use this time. It doesn't have to be a massive upgrade - just functional and capable of running Nintendo games properly. Like how the WiiU was, honestly.

All the splatoons are just way too samey for me. I had to stop at 2, didn't see the need for 3. 4 would have to be something spectacular, especially for $70

Same, I lost interest in 3 because it was just more of the same as 2. People scoff at GAAS but I think Splatoon would really benefit from being a F2P game with battle passes and ongoing updates and such. A retail Splatoon 4 would need to be a pretty big reinvention to get me interested again.

I'm definitely getting one but not until I can casually stroll into a store and buy one. I'm not pre-ordering, camping outside of Target for weeks or any of that nonsense

Absolutely. And since I live in NYC I'll be camping out with the other nerds to buy one at midnight. I did it for Wii and Switch and its a fun experience.

Day 1.

I bought all their portables day 1, this will not change.

The majority of my Switch library is just older titles like the Paper Mario remake or the Mario rpg remake, Zelda LA remake I think the only properties I'm even buying on new entries are stuff like Kirby and animal crossing

But I do enjoy a few surprises here and there like them Xeno games so I'm mostly purchasing for the release of some older classics as I don't really know if I care that much about any of their new releases any more.

Sort of off-topic but I think after a property has had its time in the sun sometimes it's okay to sunset the property and move on. This is sort of where I'm at with I think most of their properties as I no longer play the new Zelda or Mario titles

Give me some of those remasters of their older stuff and I'm completely fine with just that

It's confirmed backwards compatible so no reason to wait.

Also, I'm confident that Nintendo will have a strong first year lineup. They've had plenty of time to get things ready.

I won't be able to pre order or even have one during the launch year, but eventually I want to have at least 3 or 4 of them. Lots of power outages where I live all year round.

I'm getting one regardless, unless it's portable only, which it won't be but if that was the case, I wouldn't have any hurry for the next years to get one

Once Xenoblade 4 comes out I'll get one for sure, However I may get it day 1 if XCX is improved over Switch 1, I can't understand why this game is not a Switch 2 launch game.

Nah I'm good with my Steam Deck. Excited for the launch though. Looks like quite of a beast of a portable console.

Day 1. Preorder for sure.

Nintendo listened to reason and just made a Switch sequel instead of reinventing the wheel with silly gimmicks. It'll be a hit.

Only after a properly functioning Switch 2 emulator is available. I don't care about the handheld aspect. I just want to play games on PC.
