Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

Doomsday is a monster created by an alien scientist in the dumbest, least efficient way possible. He has nothing to do with Zod in the comics, but it looks like he'll be frankenzod in this.

Oh.
So why have him here then if you change the entire backstory of the character? Don't know if Doomsday is some fan-favourite but it just seems....weird.
But I guess all Comicbook movies do that, soooo...

Perhaps they should have put in more time into the planning with the trailer instead of rushing one out as an answer to the Civil War trailer =

Doomsday isn't exactly a sacred character. He's been done in multiple forms before.

It's not like Batman not having had his parents killed or anything. Doomsday has always been just a big dumb brute.

He killed Superman, he's a pretty big favorite, but I do find it odd that he's here. Bizarro would make more sense.

lol...suddenly those concern troll posts about WB must be scrambling to make a new trailer after Civil War debut makes sense.

Cavill needs acting lessons - dude is so fucking wooden with his dialogue delivery. Christopher Reeve was more than just chiseled good looks - he gave clark a personality.

Cant comment on affleck yet since I need to see more.

Ah alright.
Thanks.

Is there any explanation for weird baggy trousers Batman fighting soldiers in what looks lik the middle east? I mean, I asume it's some sort of dream sequence in the movie but I wonder if it has some actual comic background (because I think Batman with a coat looks fucking hilarious)

Even though the trailer showed a bit much I didn't mind it at all. We all know Bats and Supes are gonna team up so that's no surprise. Maybe they could have teased Doomsday instead of showing him in full and not have Wonder Woman in there but overall I thought it was a decent trailer. I don't know shit about Doomsday so his reveal didn't bother me that much.

Really digging Affleck as Batman, good casting choice. Still hyped af.

i was cautiously optimistic about this after the last trailer, but oooof, this one was a stinker. maybe, just maybe it was cut to be as dumb looking as possible for the mass market (after all, this premièred on a talk show), but i really have misgivings about this film.

People do remember Synder didn't have the greatest track record before landing the DC gig right? Defenders are quick to pull the 'Marvel fan boys' card, but his films have always garnered similar reactions. I guess it's easier to dismiss everyone as hateful Marvel fan's then deal with legitimate criticism.

I see parademons, so maybe it's a possible future? More than likely a dream though.

This trailer definitely dropped this from a 'will probably see' to a 'will wait to see if it gets good reviews'.

No jokes would be better than bad jokes. That 'is she with you?' bit was pretty cringey.

Hopefully it's just a poorly put together trailer.

At this point I'd wish it would have the 'snyder' effect where the trailer is good but the movie is bad - except the opposite.

But the content (regardless of the trailer edit) looks very mediocre. Lex seems like forced humor, cavills acting isnt gonna improve in the final cut and Goyer's dialgoue is gonna stay the same. The only thing that could improve is the CG i guess.

Jesse Eisenberg killed that entire thing for me and will probably kill the movie for me. I haven't read any posts in this thread yet but I'd be shocked if it hasn't been said 1000 times already.

He was so damn bad.

Other than that looks fun.

It's a very cookie cutter trailer. And it makes sense, it has to appeal to the mass market who are all flocking to the cinema to see Star Wars.

I'm 100% sure we're going to get a trailer like this one in January/February. It's all about mindshare for WB/DC atm and it makes sense to go one step further than Marvel and reveal the Big Bad in your trailer.

Nope, not feeling the trailer at all, my hype was killed by this so I guess I'll go watch it with my friends who are die hard fans of DC, but as for now, I'm not interested in watching anything more about this.

If you're going to make them fight a giant monster, why make it a giant ninja turtle when you can make it something like Doomsday or Darkseid?

You haven't read any other posts about it because you're overreacting

Exactly how i feel, movie looks great but Lex casting is fucking shit, also seems like they made Joker Lex instead Lex Luthor...

Still no hype for this or Civil War, the only comic movie i want to see is Suicide Squad.

The other trailer was so much better, not just because it didn't reveal the whole movie, it actually made sense and presented an idea for a cool film, this one actually seems like it set out to reveal as much as possible without any context at all.

Not a unique problem for Hollywood trailers by any means but this really dented my interest in the film.

Yep. Even with the rumor and speculation about Doomsday, the general public that don't read up on these movies, were just spoiled as soon as they watch this trailer. Don't go Terminator Genisys, studios!

I've watched the trailer a few more times and Batfleck is like the only thing I'm liking in this movie. I like the batsuit and he looks like Wayne, and his performance seems to be pretty solid. Cavill is still the wrong choice for Superman. Wonder Woman is still too skinny. Doomsday is missing bones on his face making him not look like Doomsday. Eisneberg is a fucking disaster. I'm sure once Aquaman Poseidon shows up I'll be frowning again. It just feels all rushed to get the Justice League movie out to counter Avengers. Hopefully, the movie is good enough and DC sets up Darkseid as their Thanos.

100% correct post.

Rumor is that Wonder Woman has some kind of vision of a possible future, which triggers her intervention in the story.

The first trailer was so dark I loved it great departure from Marvel style trailers. It felt like the MOS trailers once the title score hits you get hyped. This trailer feels like they listened to internet complaints and gave everyone what they think they wanted to see.

The editing was fine for a trailer. It revealed too much for my liking though. My problem is that from what we've seen, Batman doesn't have a plan beyond fighting a fight he cannot win. Then he's forced to team up with Supes because Doomsday. I pray to Snyder the plot won't be THAT paper thin. It's a shame because they did everything else right with Batfleck.

Eisenberg is definitely a wild card.

Looks better than expected, but yeah... They revealed too much. I wish they kept Doomsday a secret and had not shown Wonder Woman.
