The editing was fine for a trailer. My problem is that from what we've seen, Batman doesn't have a plan beyond fighting a fight he cannot win. Then he's forced to team up with Supes because Doomsday. I pray to Snyder the plot won't be THAT paper thin. It's a shame because they did everything else right with Batfleck.
Usually artifacts show up for me when there are more than 200 frames to load. I try to cut them down by just going through the folder and deleting unnecessary frames there. At best, you should have less than 150 frames to work with to get the best quality output.
To be honest the other stuff like Doomsday didn't put me off too much but did ruin the tension the other trailers seemed to be going for. It's Lex that has put me off this.
Unlike the previous trailers this felt a lot more 'meat and potatoes' and quite different from the unique and stylised stuff that Warners' marketing (Mad Max:Fury Road for example) usually offers.
-- Affleck as Wayne, older, tired looking, looks great but having him stand as Batman holding a gun during the 'hero shot' at the end of the trailer feels totally wrong, especially without any context.
-- I didn't like the Doomsday design at all but, if rumoured,
he 'grows' spikes the more he is hit
that sounds pretty cool as the character design evolves as the fight continues.
-- The little quips (they were barely jokes) were nice and didn't disrupt the beats of the trailer at all.
-- The still love the idea that Wayne is basically gearing himself up to fight (for all intents and purposes) a god who he believes will eventually enslave humanity and that Clark sees Batman as a menace taking the law into his own hands who needs dealing with both as a journalist and a 'superhero'.
This speaks to both characters motives within who they are as 'people'. It stands to reason that they would/could face off. It doesn't feel like 'Let's fight...., cause'.
-- I also love the idea (and I'm potentially reading too much into this) that Wayne could be taking on Superman by way of a suicide mission. Mounting an impossible task that will almost certainly result in his death because he is a man who feels as though his mission in life has been futile. He has seen Robin killed by the Joker and Gotham is still a fucking cesspool.
The idea of seeing a Bruce Wayne who has been fighting crime for 20 years and is now totally burnt out and depressed on screen is really cool.
..., and I don't know why people are thinking that this trailer spoils anything, did you really think that Batman vs Superman was going to be the entire film? Did people seriously think that either Batman or Superman would be the film's antagonist?
Obviously there was going to a 'bigger baddie' for them to face off against and having Doomsday be a Frankenstein style creation using Zod's DNA makes sense.
While that may have been more a 'by the numbers' trailer than we might have been expecting (the Suicide Squad Comic Con teaser/sizzle reel was one of the best trailers I've seen in years, seriously) I'm still 100% excited for this.
It looked enjoyable enough but really felt like it spoiled a great deal. Doomsday? Really? MoS trailers felt too spoilerific too.
Not keen on dweeb Lex. Is that any different from blogger Dr Doom (didn't watch the new FF)? All I want to see is a strong, smart Lex. Kinda like the cartoon. He was great in that. Feel like dweeby eccentric badguys are very played out.
Batman looked goofy as heck with the "I thought she was with you". Could've said it less like a joke.
Anyway, I'm obviously still going to see this, but I'm done watching anymore trailers. Pretty fed up of studios revealing too much in them.
Unlike the previous trailers this felt a lot more 'meat and potatoes' and quite different from the unique and stylised stuff that Warners' marketing (Mad Max:Fury Road for example) usually offers.
Speaking of Fury Road, remember how the trailer only used action shots from the beginning chase of the movie? And then you went and watched the movie and had your mind blown by all that awesome stuff you didn't see in the trailer?
I'm not feeling that! and talk about spoilers with freaking Doomsday (how do fans feel about Zod's reanimated corpse even becoming doomsday?)
Still not liking Superman, Wonder Woman felt tacked on, i'm just hoping she got a story reason to be there
And Eisenburg, what was that? thats not Luthor, that was like some court jester, it was closer to the (Mark Hamil's) joker than anything else
Basically, now I know everything about this movie. Why should I even go the cinema. What a terrible approach. And that Lex Luthor? My god, it's even worse than I imagined.

Loved the trailer.
Wow at all the negative imprssions.
I for one liked the humour they put, I dont fucking want gritty DC, its a comic book. Batman TAS is the best DC media of all time and it wasnt gritty all the fucking time, not even near it.
I liked the first scene with Luthor, and I liked the reveal at the end of the group with the joke.
Half of the people were crying that the movie was too dark, going to suck and they didnt know how to do things like Marvel, and know the other half is crying because they put some Marvel humour in it.
I even read one opinion in the first pages of some guy wanting a movie about superman vs batman becuase thats what the people wanted to see, when the majority of people I heard they opinion when the title was revealed is that they were scared this was going to be a fucking movie about Batman kicking the ass of superman alan moore style.
You cant content everyone, but lets see which half is the biggest one when the movie is in theaters and we see the reactions of everyone instead of the internet.
I would have prefered doosmaday to not be shown in the trailers though.

I am not into the DC lore as much as you are (like the general audience isn't too), so, yes, I didn't know who the fuck was Doomsday. The first trailer was fine because it was interesting to anticipate two iconic superheros fighting each other, that doesn't mean we expected only that, but this prospect was enough for now.

It's really the responsibility of the marketing department to figure out how much and what they'll show, and someone who watches a trailer is entitled to think they showed too much.

I feel like there isn't really a direct comparison to be had here. Sure GAF might like the third act to be kept a secret but the studio are trying to sell this to those that couldn't tell you who was directing it or the studio that is releasing it.
You know, the other 95% of the planet.
Mad Max was an R rated film while B vs S is the cornerstone of a larger industry that includes toys, slippers, lollipops etc, etc. While Star Wars managed to keep their trailers (frustratingly?) vague they had an iconography that the audience is familiar with.
For all intents and purposes B vs S is launching a new cinematic franchise/universe so they have to put out their stall, so to speak, to lure in an audience. And given that we haven't seen any other members of the Justice League
(which is supposed to be fully formed by the end of the film)

I don't understand your reaction. First, yes it is directed at the general audience (it was aired on Kimmel), not exclusively to the nerdy base. Second, a trailer is not supposed to spoil the movie, it's supposed to bring excitment and inform people of what they should expect in the GREAT LINES. Third, it's not about what I want to "pick and choose which scenes are ok to show or not": I didn't expect that much, WB did fine with Mad Max, I don't know why they decided to go that way with this one.
I didn't say "fully" nor "We were furious when we were shown something else", don't put word in my posts that dsingenuous.
And yes, expecting something else in the development of the story arc, a twist or anything. You know maybe wanting to discover full plot when we actually see the movie.
You had no problem with it, it's okay, don't make it like it must be the case for everyone else.

Which is great if he knows that they are Batman and Superman. He is driving up the tension and eliminating himself as a threat there. He is pulling a Bruce Wayne going to swim in the fountain and buying the hotel diversion.
I really, REALLY like what I saw of Affleck as Bruce Wayne here. He LOOKS like Wayne from the comics (something no actor has pulled off), he has the cynical edge of Wayne (something no other actor has pulled off)...I'm really impressed with that performance, if that clip of him talking to Kent is anything to go by.
The rest, however...I just don't know what to think.
I can say that I'm looking forward to seeing what Affleck does with Batman after this, though!
You can expect the conflict to be resolved, even know it will be, but that's different to seeing. Now we've seen what will happen in the third act; the DC Trinity will have to unite to defeat Doomsday.
I'm so glad they finally showed the true physical threat in this movie. I'm so excited, holy shit I've waited for this movie my entire life and now it's happening. I loved the back and forth between Clark and Bruce.
