The thing is, what do you even get out of showing Doomsday, anyway?

The comic book fans were already going to see the film.

The general audience don't care.

Why?

Geeks stress out about the origins of Doomsday.

The Wallmart crowd do not and they are the ones who push genre fare past a billion worldwide.

Sad story indeed.

We were fully expected something else.
We were furious when we were shown something else.

?????????

I didn't say "fully" nor "We were furious when we were shown something else", don't put word in my posts that dsingenuous.
And yes, expecting something else in the development of the story arc, a twist or anything. You know maybe wanting to discover the full plot when we actually see the movie.

You had no problem with it, it's okay, don't make it like it must be the case for everyone else.

I don't think the general audience is sold on Batman fighting Superman. They had to show the larger threat that brings them together.

Why does Doomsday remind me of Killer Croc?

Batfleck looking good. Only thing I liked about the trailer.

3 movie Lex Luthers and they all have the same crazy acting. Why can't we get a Lex Luther similar to one in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Wait, I see now.

"Oh, I remember that bad guy. He was in the Spider-Man films. This is the one Spider-Man is in?"

Genius, Snyder.

Oh, you're one of those types of posters.

Shame.

I really wouldn't have bothered responding to him if I were you.

Lex ....is too damn goofy lol. Why couldn't lex be the lex from Justice league cartoon. He was so ruthess and badass in that. :(

latest

My only complaint oh and also. ..doomsdsay looks baddd

Did I just watch the whole movie? What were they thinking with this trailer?

I mean yeah, it's going to play out exactly as you'd think it would, but confirming that fact in a trailer removes a lot of the intrigue.

Sorry for the self quote, but I was prompted to watch this trailer by my friends in group text. Then someone texted something about a Civil War trailer, (had no idea one released) so I watched that.

I don't mean to drag this into "Marvel vs DC" or whatever fanboy nonsense, but whereas the Batman v. Superman trailer showed everything and killed intrigue the Civil War trailer (particularly the end) made me want to see the film ASAP -- and I've never seen the other two Cap movies.

I guess you can consider mine the layman's perspective. I don't care about comics, rarely see movies at the theater, and don't know anything about these big budget movies beyond the trailers going in. But from where I'm sitting I currently have zero interest in seeing Batman v Superman and have every intention to give $10 to Civil War. Hell, now I even want to go back and at least watch Winter Soldier to see what all the fuss was about.

Shame.

I don't like people who try to dismiss any other opinion as irrelevant because they think so. You have been quite patronizing.

If what is in this trailer don't bother you, it's alright. But stop insulting those who were unpleasantly suprised by this trailer. What the fuck "wallmart crowd" even means.

EDIT: ah okay, we are sheeps, because we're not part of the comics elite. We're not worthy.

Cool. I'm seeing both.

Nnnnyeehhh not sure about Lex in this. He feels way too overacted. Not what I expected. He seems like he's fun but we've already got Batman and Superman actually quipping. I'm surprised DC are actually going for some "levity" here because a lot of this trailer reminded me of things people got angry at Age of Ultron for.

I really like Bruce Wayne in this though. I always felt like Ben Affleck was a good fit for the role. I could do without the constant scowls but he's still really good so far.

The movie itself looks... okay. Still doesn't really feel like there's that much tangible here insofar. Doomsday looks really solid although it's a little bit unfortunate that The Incredible Hulk was a movie that came out since he looks uncomfortably similar to Abomination from that movie.

The way Wonder Woman appears in this is hilarious. It's almost like a fan movie cut and it makes me a little bit worried how they'll accomplish her with everything else they're juggling. Though to be fair this is the same worry I have with Spider-Man in Civil War.

I had NO idea Doomsday was in this. Always been a Marvel guy with the exception of Batman and some of the prestige DC stuff so I don't care how he's "made" but I do have to admit as someone not invested in this from a nostalgia standpoint I'm actually disappointed they showed him.

Yes, everyone knows Bat and Supes won't stay enemies through the whole film but the premise alone would be enough to get butts in seats. Throw in a little Lex Luthor and you're all good. For me anyway Doomsday would have been an awesome little surprise that's ruined for me now. Oh well. I'm still gonna watch the shit out of this drivel and love every minute of it

Decent trailer. I guess. The WW reveal was pure cheese but maybe that's what they were going for. Doomsday was a pleasant surprise. But I gotta say the more they show of Eisenberg the less hyped I get.He looks absolutely awful in this.

All three of the heroes look great here.
Awesome final shot in a very weird trailer.

My concerns now are Eisenberg and Doomsday. But I wonder how goofy this new Lex is going to act when he loses his hair, 'cause otherwise, he acts like any other movie Lex, not very Lex-like, and we missed the opportunity to bring comics Lex to the big screen. At least Eisenberg seems to be having fun onscreen and the schemes of this Lex go beyond the lame real state excuse. I was hoping for a Red Son kinda Lex Luthor.

And yeah, I prefer my DC comics to be dark grim with none of the bullshit, forced-pandering-humor garbage, but on second viewing the "humor" was just fine.

I loved the trailer. Including Lex Luthor, he seems fun. But I think something will happen to him that will make him cut his hair and change his personality for something more serious.

The only thing that bothers me is Doomsday's origin but I had no idea he was in this so I'm happy anyway.

I wish I didn't watch that movie

Batman and Superman come together to fight doomsday
Big explosion, batman and superman saved by wonder woman
They might fight for a few minutes but they will join forces
Michael Cera as quite possibly the worst Lex Luthor ever
Bruce Wayne acting like a crotchety fool instead of acting like Bruce Wayne

I feel like that trailer gave away WAY too much

I love Eisenburg's Luthor. It's very different, but he looks fun. Affleck continues to further establish my belief that he's going to be the best part of this movie.

Also this trailer had some funnies. GAF told me DC hates funnies!

Good trailer.

But should have let Doomsday outside of the trailers. Let him be a surprise.

Some people actually think everyone should have already know Doomsday is going to be in the movie judging from the previous trailers and the title. Don't ask how.

im a DC stan, wonder woman is my number 1 most favorite character of all time in just about any media and until i lost a bet ive had a wonder woman avatar on this site for years and i love dc heroes more than marvels and blah blah anyway what im trying to say is that i am not some kind of rabid marvel stan mocking this trailer for some fanshit war

this trailer was not good to me, sorry
this nintendo-esque persecution complex is so overdone tbh
Thank you. This so much, they're like Shenmue/Nintendo fans. I say this as a Batman stan and someone who wants to see a rendition of him that more closely resembles his comic book form but this trailer...is terrible. The tone is just so scattershot and Eisenberg is just awful. Will I still end up seeing it? Yes. But man if this trailer didn't deflate my hype some.

That's ridiculous
Showing doomsday deflated any hype I had left to see how the situation resolved itself

I enjoy the trailer more everytime I watch it.

My favourite line is probably Superman's "If I wanted it, you'd be dead already". It almost feels like a response to the "why doesnt Superman just laser him in the mouth?" crowd.

So they're going to fight and then the big bad shows up so they join forces and also Wonder Woman is there and then Thanos is teased after the credits.
