Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

You can see the almost bitter and arrogant nature of Bruce and the naiveness of Clark, really loved their scene together, also Luthor will be awesome.

Doomsday looks more like Bolg to me lol.
Yeah that scene at the party was honestly great. I kinda want a movie based around them discussing their world views.

This is a really dumb complaint but we accept Kent takes of his glasses and no one realizes he is superman so why does Bruce need to change his voice when he becomes batman? Ben Affleck seems like he is killing it as Bruce Wayne, just use his normal voice for batman

He started doing it to intimidate bad guys and it just stuck?

Wow!
I kinda disliked everything about this trailer. From the way it was put together to its actually content.
People will call this hyperbole but I really didn't expect to dislike this as much as I do.
Also, doomsday? Really?

I...did not like that trailer.

And I'm someone who is excited for this film.

Doomsday looks awful but fuck its Doomsday I didn't expect anything else. Editing in this trailer is weird but eh.

God this looks awful.

People have always loved Snyder Trailers but hate his movies. This gives me hope that the people hating on the trailer actually end up like the movie. LOL

No, that's the trailer. I can understand with you being an MCU fan and all that you'd think something with so little character development is the movie, but nope it's just a trailer.

Lol, Thanos is just my favorite villain and I'm excited to see him finally wreck shit on the silver screen. Batman is my favorite hero and I don't want Snyder fucking this up. If this movie is bad and bombs critically it could hurt the upcoming movies; or not. I'm a fan of comic books and comic book characters -- I still have a lot of my collection -- that wasn't stolen. :(

But it's cool if calling me an MCU fanboy helps ignore my criticisms. You should go find my posts about X-Men movies and Fantastic Four.

So Doomsday is another 3rd act explosion fest. Let's see if Snyder has learned anything.

Isn't every action film a '3rd act explosion fest', it's not as if Winter Soldier ended with series of straight to camera monologues is it?

I wouldn't be surprised if they revealed Doomsday in the trailer to head off any potential Doomsday reveal by any number of their licensed products.

This...., isn't actually a bad shout. Also bearing in mind that we haven't seen Doomsday in his
final 'form'
yet...., again, if the rumours are to be believed.

For what it's worth this will probably look exactly like Doomsday by the end of the fight if, as reported,
Doomsday's spikes/horns etc become more prominent as the fight continues
.

Look around its eyes. WE can clearly see the end of the spikes that will protrude later.

That's exactly what it is. Most of the movie (according to reporting) is Batman v Superman. The league is more than just the trinity, and this is the first time they meet each other.
I cant say its the main plot when it is going to be resolved in this manner.

Legitimately thought they will fight till the end of the movie. probably with superman goes into hiding after he realizes his mistake and apologize, leaving batman broken. Or something like that.

Then batman seek him out for help in justice league for the team up with the rest of the crew.

I hate trailers like this that basically show the whole movie. I feel like I watched the whole thing already minus a tease for Aquaman

Batman will be the best part of this. Still not sold on the rest, but who am I kidding, I'm going to watch this when it comes out no matter how much I hate castings or how silly some stuff looks.

I am looking forward to the movie a lot. But this is a historically important movie to me I'm just worried.

The reddit leak says WW arrives at the batcave and then the trinity is united. The trailer obviously makes it fake.

Hmm. Watching it again, I see what you mean. But, everything else seems to line up just fine with this trailer, and it was posted five months ago. So, could be editing, or changes, or complete bullshit.

EDIT: I will say one thing that makes it more credible to me than the other leak being referenced is
that I just can't imagine Superman being dead at the end of this. That is a fucking weird/downer of a way to lead into Justice League.

The third civil war trailer isn't going to show captain america and iron man teaming up and being friends. Marvel isn't that dumb.

If part of the movie is them getting over their issues for a common threat in the end you bet that will be apart of the final trailer in some way. I'll be very surprised if their issues aren't resolved by the end. Remember IM and Cap don't hate each other. They have a difference of opinion and if something big goes down you can bet they'll be there side by side.

the whole timeline of the Batman/Wonder woman scene makes no sense.
  • Batman is in a car
  • Doomsday fires his laser
  • then they show wonder woman
  • then Batman is in his car looking shocked that he isn't hit by laser
  • then Wonder Woman is doing her pose thing
  • then batman is standing next to superman with a gun? and they say their stupid line.

I'm still waiting to be convinced that WW is in this film because Snyder/Terrio had an actual story idea for her, and not because someone at WB arbitrarily insisted that the "trinity" had to appear on-screen together before Justice League. I liked the trailer, but it does little to refute that impression.

They better tighten up that doomsday CG, looked awful.

His slide is funny. It should be a holy shit surprise moment when he arrives, what the hell is it not doing his Hulk slide down a building and going "hey guys! can I play!"

Think it would be a perfect opportunity to see from his perspective as he leaps down and see the reaction from the three heroes or an extreme close up from behind him to show his brute strength in an intimidating way.

No, it didn't. It was $306m, a number that came from leaked documents Disney didn't want out.

EDIT - Changed original post. That was an overly passive aggressive reply on my part.

Trust me when I say studios hide the true cost of films and what not all the time. Especially when they are total money sinks like John Carter.

Obviously there are scenes in between Wonder Woman blocking the laser and Batman getting out with his gadget

Trailers dont necessary show their clips in the order of the movie

Scene editing, how does it work?

I mean, trailers aren't cut for continuity. There are shots in this trailer that imply Batman is fighting Superman when it's very likely he's just dodging Doomsday.

Quirky lex.

Too many villains

Too many heroes

No real awesome heroic stunts shown

Entire plot revealed. Why even show Zod haha. Wouldn't have expected it

Odds are this won't be good. Hopefully it's fun enough not to matter

I don't like Doomsday having eye beams I find it vaguely upsetting.
II hope if we ever get Superboy they do right by him. Full 90s leather get up and he needs to say dude often maybe radical.

Gaaaaaaawd, I can't believe how shitty the music and editing choices in this trailer are.

The music cues, especially. Felt a little embarrassed watching this with friends last night.

Maybe there will be a reverse Snyder effect: shitty trailer, amazing movie.

Age of Ultron trailers didn't spoil the whole movie though? Vision never appeared in any of the trailers, we never saw what Ultrons plan was, we never heard of the Mind Stone, we didn't know about Hawkeyes family, we didn't know about Quicksilver dying, etc. They showed very little, considering.

They showed the big beats of the film. You're talking about the details that connect all those large moments. This trailer is showing the beats of the film. We don't know any details about the connective tissue either with this film.

We've still seen very little of Wonder Woman and don't know her purpose. Don't know how the fight between BvS resolves or even how it actually starts just that it happens. What happens at that senate hearing? We don't know exactly what Lex does to Zod. Aquaman? Flash? Where is that fight taking place? Why is Lois with Lex? Remember the attack on Lexcorp in the other trailer? Why are there parademons in this trailer? What is Lex's true purpose with this Doomsday monster? His ultimate goal? There is a LOT left to uncover with this film as well.

Trailers largely and unfortunately show the plot outline of a film. What ultimately matters the most are the details that fill out that outline.

I assume he just means it's edited weirdly, because it is. It's a jarring cut to go from two shots of Batman strapped into the batmobile, to him just standing in the streets with a big fucking gun. Obviously in the movie it won't be like that.

So this Doomsday dude. I was asking about him yesterday and some people gave me the basics. What's his power set here? Because it seems like he's some mutant zombie Zod. So are we assuming he just has crazy Zod powers? Crazy laser vision, crazy strength, etc.? Because in that case, I could see him being a good Superman villain but I'm interested in seeing how Batman could handle him.

The most jarring cut in this trailer is right after Eisenberg says "You don't want to pick a fight with this man." Scene ends, cut to black -- and during that transition, there's complete silence. Really odd that that slipped through, sounds like something I would cut together! :lol

Batman will probably be handling something else or providing air support.

wakes up in the morning with cool OJ

sits downs reads all the hate comments

people hating on comic book like settings and nature makes it feel like they blindly watched Avengers 1 and 2 like nothing similar happened

I get the spoiling comments though.... but not the ones that cry that the whole movie is spoiled and there is no point in watching it

really? Batman and Superman not worth watching? LMAO

I could have the script right in front of me and read through it front to back and I still will go see the movie. Just the fight between the Trinity and Doosmday is worth it.

Hell yeah. WW looks badass.

Yes she does. About fucking time she got her due.

Are your friends boring politicians?

:O

He basically has the hulk power set with the addition that he can never die the same way twice. Although this movie added shoop da whoop lasers and hopefully excised the immortality.

That looked... passable?

I was interested in the movie before and now I'm still interested, no more or less so.

Music was pretty bad though. That can't be Zimmer, can it?

Yeah, just saying, it shouldn't be a surprise that someone with a Thanos avatar is being picky about a Batman movie... Because Batman happens to be his favorite superhero in spite of said avatar being a Marvel property.
Yes, that makes perfect sense. You know it's entirely possible to love both Marvel and DC comics and movies equally, right?
