So right, I'm gonna sum up what this tells us:
Clear and confirmed:
- Beta map is likely to be "Siege", an urban map with a very vertical inclination (Bravo point is at the top of a skyscraper) and from the looks of it, lots of side-paths and rooms to breach through, while still maintaining enough ground attack space to support three MBTs, a couple of humvees (now Buffalo MRAP, thanks Tekku)
- 5 members to a squad.
- C4 for snipers (may be just for the alpha)
- Able to change both Knife and Grenade type
- Top Down view of deployment area when deploying on static points (squad spawning uncertain)
- New Optics (Trijicon pattern 6x sight, "CL6X")
- Two stage optics takes up the "accessory" slot in weapon customization, likely activated by same button used to toggle LLMs and Flashlights
- New weapons
-Assault Rifles:
CZ 805 A2 (Czech Republic, 5.56 NATO, 700rpm)
QBZ-95-1 (China, 5.8 PLA, 650rpm)
-PDWs
CZ 3A1 Skorpion EVO III (Czech Republic, 9x19mm, 1100rpm)
-Sniper Rifles
Steyr Scout Tactical (Austria, 7.62 NATO, Bolt Action)
-LMGs
Ultramax 100 (Singapore, 5.56 NATO, 600rpm)
-Pistols
QSZ-92 (China, unknown if 9x19mm or 5.8mm, single fire)
Needs further clarification:
- Unlocks handled by "Battlepacks". Unclear as to whether these are the only way to unlock everything, whether they unlock attachments, or purely aesthetic elements.
- Battlepacks unlocked via gameplay (CONFIRMED), but unsure of requirements to unlock them via gameplay and if they can be "bought" like crates in TF2 separate from gameplay.
- Unsure if you can get "doubles", ie, two PKA-S Red dot sights for the same weapon, from these battlepacks and if there is some planned marketplace to trade/sell attachments.
- Simplification of specializations? (unsure of what "offensive" means)
- Unsure if knives will have different stats such as swing time, range, recovery, and damage, or if they'll be purely aesthetic differences.
- If Battlepacks aren't the sole way to unlock things, how will unlocks be handled within the game? Linearly as BF3 or in a manner to work with the battlepacks?
- Appears to be accessory option for sidearms. May be corroborated by the short shotgun with Trijicon RMR sight from Fishing in Baku. Needs further clarification.
So, any controversy about this?
