Battlefield 4 Xbox 360 alpha screens leak (many don't have textures, broken geometry)

Fuck, I really hoped they'd get rid of the neon blue/orange aesthetic in the UI. I hated that shit in BF3, it felt so cold and tiring to the eyes.

I was hoping we'd get a little BF4 teaser today. I thought they'd want to take a little something away from COD's livestream.

EA will be curb stomping COD tomorrow with 64-player MP. I just really hope they show XB1/PS4 footage so I can see what it's going to look like on a version I'll be playing.

Not me, and I have no problem running Metro at 720p. I don't have a strong rig, but it can game. BF3 gets 35-40 avg at 720p on medium on my computer.

I'm not even a PS2 fan, I don't like it either but BF3 sucks. I felt robbed of my $60 and regret pre-ordering it. DICE should stop making this shit and go back to Mirrors Edge or make a sequel worthy of being BF2s successor.

Youre wrong because Frostbite 2 does not give poor performance as you stated.

PC specs? Also you do realize that BF (and PS2) is a bit CPU intensive right?

Don't forget that stupid blue filter shit.

Honestly, I'd wish they'd just go back to the aesthetics of BC1 and 2. At least BC2 was bright and had some color.

Yea I agree. I'm just being impatient. Hopefully they give us some console love.

I love how people are comparing and complaining about a completely unfinished product with a finished product. Plus I'm sure people who by this on PC or PS4 will get a great bump in graphic fidelity. It's so silly how people complaining about a 8 year old piece of hardware not getting a huge graphical bump.

Just think how impatient we'll be if they wait til close to launch to show next-gen console footage. :'(

It took forever to see BF3 running on 360. Which is the version I bought. Show some next-gen console love, EA/DICE.

It would be kinda neat if battlepacks dropped like Loot from players. Say you snipe a guy and saw him drop a backpack.

no really bothered by ME3 style loot heck most of newbies who bought the shortcut packs in BF3 still sucked having all accessorizes and tech won't help.

all i need is a red dot and fore grip for whatever gun i use

point is water in BF aint nuttin special, never has been. Aint really needed.
But with new gen coming I guess its finally the time where nice water is cheap enuff to implement and not take away from anything else.

Playing Battlefield 2 there were many instances where I was like "wow that water looks awesome!" and also "wow that water looks crap!" .. Same can be said for Battlefield 3 when the water is a simple see thru texture that moves.

Water could be a big deal in BF3 since they advertise their game as combat over different environments i.e. air, ground, water. It's just something I find surprising that they haven't done much in terms of water tech when they want battles over seas and have carriers. Maybe it just hasn't been revealed, so we'll see.

What we've seen so far from BF4, it seems that the blue shit has been toned down a bit in-game. The 'Fishing in Baku' demo looked pretty clean, so lets hope that rings true for the rest of the game.

They just wont. Why show off your game on the biggest, most watched event of the year on a technically inferior platform? It just wont happen.

Demo and trailers will all be on PC, and the game will almost assuredly be running on PC on the show floor.

So microtransactions are in?

Ugh microtransactions. As long as they're cosmetic I don't really mind though

I have a feeling I will hype this game a lot and it will let me down. Please fix your class system at least DICE, you broke it to fuck in BF3

Also is that on the fly scope switching I see?

I REALLY want to know how much physics will play in destruction animation. It would be really impressive to have air vehicles crash animation dependent on physics. \\\each explosion would be unique. They could effect different parts of the vehicle accordingly, so every time you get damaged, you're vehicle will handle slightly/severely differently. Don't use static defaults, go with dynamic ranges. So a plain hit on the right side will fly differently depending on how much damage, what hit it and at what angle. Most of these are number calculations, just allow for a few animation branches and randomize the sequence so we would have the final effect of seeing a plain crash relatively differently each time.
I believe next gen has the tech to do that.

So the battlepacks are in game credits that you get while playing? That's not bad then. As long as EA don't exploit it and have a "Pay $5 for X amount of credits"

Punishing new players for being new is such a backwards way to design a game. Ugghh.

I hope you're kidding.

Some of the best infantry weapons in the game are available to new players from the very beginning.

If you want unlocks right now is the easiest time to do it between all the different map packs.

So right, I'm gonna sum up what this tells us:

Clear and confirmed:
- Beta map is likely to be "Siege", an urban map with a very vertical inclination (Bravo point is at the top of a skyscraper) and from the looks of it, lots of side-paths and rooms to breach through, while still maintaining enough ground attack space to support three MBTs, a couple of humvees (now Buffalo MRAP, thanks Tekku)
- 5 members to a squad.
- C4 for snipers (may be just for the alpha)
- Able to change both Knife and Grenade type
- Top Down view of deployment area when deploying on static points (squad spawning uncertain)
- New Optics (Trijicon pattern 6x sight, "CL6X")
- Two stage optics takes up the "accessory" slot in weapon customization, likely activated by same button used to toggle LLMs and Flashlights

- New weapons
-Assault Rifles:
CZ 805 A2 (Czech Republic, 5.56 NATO, 700rpm)
QBZ-95-1 (China, 5.8 PLA, 650rpm)
-PDWs
CZ 3A1 Skorpion EVO III (Czech Republic, 9x19mm, 1100rpm)
-Sniper Rifles
Steyr Scout Tactical (Austria, 7.62 NATO, Bolt Action)
-LMGs
Ultramax 100 (Singapore, 5.56 NATO, 600rpm)
-Pistols
QSZ-92 (China, unknown if 9x19mm or 5.8mm, single fire)

Needs further clarification:
- Unlocks handled by "Battlepacks". Unclear as to whether these are the only way to unlock everything, whether they unlock attachments, or purely aesthetic elements.
- Battlepacks unlocked via gameplay (CONFIRMED), but unsure of requirements to unlock them via gameplay and if they can be "bought" like crates in TF2 separate from gameplay.
- Unsure if you can get "doubles", ie, two PKA-S Red dot sights for the same weapon, from these battlepacks and if there is some planned marketplace to trade/sell attachments.
- Simplification of specializations? (unsure of what "offensive" means)
- Unsure if knives will have different stats such as swing time, range, recovery, and damage, or if they'll be purely aesthetic differences.
- If Battlepacks aren't the sole way to unlock things, how will unlocks be handled within the game? Linearly as BF3 or in a manner to work with the battlepacks?
- Appears to be accessory option for sidearms. May be corroborated by the short shotgun with Trijicon RMR sight from Fishing in Baku. Needs further clarification.

So, any controversy about this?

Not that there's any doubt to the authenticity of these screens, but I'd like to point out that the Kmagnus dude was also in the BF4 SP gameplay video. His gamer tag/name popped up in the top-right corner for reaching new high score on SP.
