Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

Player retention in the beta seems good. 410k steam players already on a thursday
ON A THURSDAY!

- current state, does not feel Like a Battlefield Game at all
- empire state map ist probably the worst map i've ever seen, not a single Battlefield DNA in here
- vehicles need alot of tweaking, the jeeps control like cardboards with wheel, horrible
- very very short time to react to gunfire, which is frustrating and ist not what Battlefield is about
- does not have the sandbox feeling at all

Overall impressive for what it is, but the magic ist not here yet

Came back feeling excited to play and this isn't really impressing me very much. Way too many snipers on most maps, it's just frustrating and kills any of the fun. I feel like it should be limited to one sniper per squad, although I can see a bunch of wankers whining about that. I don't know what it is, I went from day one to wait and see after launch.

I think the maps are actually OK. I think the cap speed is too quick though which is leading to those frenetic sprint matches. I think just tweaking that would alleviate a LOT of problems and cod comparisons

the subreddit is a cesspool, do yourself a favor and avoid it
I'm into self harming.

I really like the game but just like most MP games, it really shines with a squad of pals with voice.

I do like infantry only maps. But so far all these maps have been small.

People say BF4 was the pinnacle but for me bf3 was amazing. 4 felt like they made it too Arcady.

Anyway hope the rest of the maps are bigger.

See, they could have proper all out warfare cq maps and then had scaled down versions for infantry only. They're doing that for every other mode

Played my first round of rush on siege of cairo. That was the worst rush experience i've had in a BF game in a long time. I can only hope its better on the other maps....

I just can't get to grips with this at all. It seems so crowded and chaotic.

Admitedly, I haven't played Battlefield in a long time, but I don't remember it being this intense.

Just joined a game of Rush and got sniped the instant I spawned. I have no idea what's going on!

New map is utter trash, the only thing I like about it, is at least is has some mild verticality about it.

Even the Aesthetic is unappealing, looks nothing like a BF game, has 0 vibe about it, apart from a burning bridge in the background.

No DLSS is also odd

Had some fun earlier running Recon with a silenced M4A1 and focusing on frontline tugs & flanking spawn beacons. Shame that for some reason the performance mode on PS5 Pro now seems to have screen tearing even on a VRR TV 😩

Empire State is possible the worst map I've ever seen in a Battlefield game and I've played them all. I thought people were exaggerating but it really does feel like you're playing CoD and not Battlefield. Maybe CoD players think it's great and that's fine—I have no problem with them including maps like this for those that enjoy it. I don't view Battlefield as some sacred game that can never introduce something new. But come on EA, closed weapons buried deep in the menu and limited to Conquest/Breakthrough, 12v12 Rush, so many close-quarter maps and no truly large map that Battlefield is known for, etc. They are needlessly pissing off a huge segment of the fan base. I don't get it.

I Think its the best map in the beta.

No DLSS is a bug, hopefully they extend the beta :)

Had not had a single bug previously but this time had loads while playing. Random slowdowns, respawning losing health randomly, weird flashing screen, etc.

I've seen this for so long now across multiple games and it's nice that someone with this kind of exposure is finally addressing it...
Good video aside from the mouse acceleration bit which I don't think is relevant to the catgirl clip and just kind of distracts. But it's nothing we didn't post and explain already and almost nobody here was interested in listening, so don't expect too much 'engagement'. I wonder if there wasn't a trans brigade to have this dude's back if he would have gotten unbanned. I'm guessing if it were you or me our Twitch accounts would be done.

They want to take down COD so bad that they just made a new COD and named it BF6.
Trying to steal away the COD fanbase - and leaving the real BF heads in the dust.
The writing was always on the wall the second Vince took the helm.
Its over.

So here's the problem most of you are having:

- Shit team mates and squad mates. Because they are playing COD, you are playing Battlefield.

- You can tell in an instant who is a vet in your Squad utilizing secondary skills and weapons properly.

- People don't play for Objectives, I noticed this when Conquest Sites were left empty by both teams in Cairo.

- Gunplay is fast and frantic because the maps are smaller and most of you feel overwhelmed. Also, crossplay with PC gamers.

- My K/D in BF1 is 0.75 on PC but 2.8 on console. In this game so far its 1.8. I am also never below Top 5-10 because unlike everyone else, I play objectives.

- Saw active cheaters on all maps shooting at you from the top of buildings and skycrapers that no one can reach with aim bot activiated. It really destroys them game tempo.

Game is Battlefield, just with less recoil.

I agree. I wont be buying at launch. The maps feel really small and gameplay is too fast.

I never really gave Battlefield a proper chance, but I had a surprisingly good time with the BF6 beta last weekend.

So good in fact, that I booted up 2042 and have been playing it every night since.

I'm now down on BF6. Hopefully they have another beta next month showcasing their big sandbox maps because aiming for a slightly more interesting CoD is disappointing.

Also curious why they did the two weekends in a row. The sentiment couldn't be higher on Sunday/Monday and it's already swung in the other direction. How does EA benefit from this weekend?

Empire State is painful to play on CQ but it actually seems ok on rush. That and Liberation Peak are the only playable Rush maps for me. Cairo and Iberian Offensive are awful on that mode and need to be completely re-worked.

It's been over since 2006. Could be worse I guess. I like the game but yeah, the more I play the more I think it's undeniable the game pacing and map flow is very cod. It feels like a Vince Zampella game. And Vince Zampella games are good, don't get me wrong, but it feels a little weird that this is battlefield now. lol

Hey mate, welcome back.

Gonna get ragged on for this but 2042 is so overhated, at least that's my takeaway after logging a couple hundred hours in it. Granted I started 18 months post-launch after they had fixed and changed a lot of shit, not gonna defend the original product but I'm disappointed it hasn't gotten more defenders over its lifespan. I've loved the franchise since BF1942 and I would rank 2042 as one of my favorites. All the maps are memorable and the visual style, weapons, UI etc. have a really cool style. Also could do some fun stuff with Portal. But I've always thought BC2 and BF4 are painfully overrated by the most vocal fans so clearly I'm just swimming against the current with this franchise. Also thought BFV easily cleared BF1.
