Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

I still see DLSS enabled in my graphic options, what you all mean that is gone?

Beta sucks still. Will they release an actual Bf worthy sandbox map with all vehicles?

At this state, I hope this game bombs and take vince with it

Gonna get ragged on for this but 2042 is so overhated, at least that's my takeaway after logging a couple hundred hours in it. Granted I started 18 months post-launch after they had fixed and changed a lot of shit, not gonna defend the original product but I'm disappointed it hasn't gotten more defenders over its lifespan. I've loved the franchise since BF1942 and I would rank 2042 as one of my favorites. All the maps are memorable and the visual style, weapons, UI etc. have a really cool style. Also could do some fun stuff with Portal. But I've always thought BC2 and BF4 are painfully overrated by the most vocal fans so clearly I'm just swimming against the current with this franchise. Also thought BFV easily cleared BF1.
aside from the lame specialists yeah, after the map reworks it's a fun game.

Im super torn, I did have a lot of fun last weekend but the maps are starting to grate on me.

I really love everything they've done except the maps.

It looks great, feels great, sounds great, plays great.

But the maps are just off, not feeling it.

I guess Cairo and Liberation Peak are alright, I don't love them but don't hate them.

Not really feeling Iberian offensive that much.

Empire I actively hate, just not my style at all. I never liked the tiny ass human wave mosh pit maps. Im in the group that thinks Operation Metro was an abomination lol. Theyre the BF versions of Nuketown. Just gross.

rush lowkey is ass....breakthrough is doing better. the small number on rush and small map size is whats turning me off...

if there is big map rush like we had in BFBC2 with vehicles and such then ill go back to rush... still i think the map sizes and such are just beta specific

Haven't gotten a chance to try the new map yet but I don't love what I'm hearing.

Server browser, Operation Firestorm 24/7.... it would at least still be a serviceable purchase.

You're not alone, I agree with pretty much everything. Throw BF1 into the overrated camp.

Agreed and I like BF1, I just feel BFV is better. The movement, the gunplay, I even liked the building stuff like fortifications as that makes sense in an actual war.

Coming from Warzone, I'm having a blast with BF6 so far.

Looking at the BF6 subreddit however, you'd think this game was going to be a flop. They are all up in arms.

Played a few rounds on the New York map and actually had fun. There were even a few moments when people actually played as a team.

I also switched to the M4 on Assault and it immediately felt way better than whatever the default weapon was. Picked up an AK off the ground that also felt good.

It should quiet down on release. There are two massive maps that should satisfy the more hardcore. I really like the variety that the game seems to offer at launch. And it will surely get a ton of additional content for years to come. Foundation of the game is awesome

Battlefield fans have been complaining that Battlefield has been turned into Cod for 15 years. They have some justifiable complaints like the server browser and classes but most of it is nonsense.

I played BF6. It's trash.
Infantry, infantry, infantry.
I tested 4 maps, and only one had vehicles.
BF6 feels like Call of Duty mixed with Battlefield.
If you're looking for a decent alternative shooter, it can be a fun game, but not a great Battlefield experience like Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3 etc.

The menus are so cold and soulless, there is none of the love and care the old games had like BC2.

Every challenge had some nice medal you can unlock

It was also more enjoyable to level up because your insignia changes.

It's a beta not a demo, there are no stats available just a set of challenges for rewards at launch. You still earn these badges, you can see them in the post match screen when you get awarded xp.

There are 4 large maps in the full release, they've intentionally been left out.

I dont know what to make of this demo now.

Am I absolutely shit or is there something else at play?
I can offload near a full clip into someone and no kill. They are made of steel. Yet couple of hits to me and I'm like glass.

Also sick of spawning in and dying within 1 second.

Some games I do well, other games I feel like that if my gun was blowing bubbles it would be more apt.

If their intention was for me not buying the game because the maps they presented were garbage, they succeeded!
I'm merely stating the facts. It takes a few seconds of googling and reading the launch map descriptions to see what they're doing here. They're not turning Battlefield into Cod, there will be a 50/50 split between infantry maps and large scale warfare maps.

Personally speaking, I've like them all so far except Liberation Peak. But I play Rush/Breakthrough 90% of the time.

Clip?

On death you get a damage log which can let you work out if you got teamshot...

In my very short time playing I didn't notice any major hitreg issues.

So my main issue especially this beta.

When I get some shitty 12 v 12 map, I feel like im playing CoD, when im playing a 24 v 24, im having fun.

The fact that I can pick a mode queue for "attack & defend" that specifies "large scale battles" and get stuck in some 12 v 12 infantry only rush map, feels bad.

My only worry is the dev team are investing (wasting) too much time and resource on trying to get these shitty CoD feeling maps into Battlefield.

The fact they decided to put those in the beta rather than the "promised" much larger maps is worrying.

Played for another hour last night and uninstalled it. How fucking hard is it to replicate BF3 or BF4? It basically feels like Battlefield - Call of Duty edition. You die way too quick and it takes forever to kill anyone (sounds crazy but it's what I saw). In addition to that, tanks feel unbalanced and it seems that it takes way too long to destroy them with rockets.

Maps are also fucking awful. Siege of Cairo and Empire State are especially bad with Liberation Peak being meh at best. The maps so far feel really constricted and barely give squads room to move around, although this might be due to there being almost no down time when moving about, it is essentially chaotic all the time. This is an infantry game with vehicles dropped into these weirdly claustrophobic maps.

When I played Breakthrough it was hopeless as 60% of both teams were recon without actually 'playing' as the class, just sniping without moving forward to plant spawn beacons. Coming across snipers is bollocks too as suppression feels really watered down, we tried suppressing fire against snipers while people moved forward but it just doesn't really work. With 5 or 6 other snipers all in similar positions, you might suppress one but the others get you no issue. Dice really should consider limiting recon or sniping to one per squad to help balance things out.

I can't put my finger on what changed from last weekend, but it's pushed me from from day one to probably never bother. I couldn't be more disappointed and will go back to BF4.

Second day playing and the maps are ass. Something about the gameplay just feels off. Also many weapons seem useless. And whats up with the RPG blast damage. :S. Cant kill anybody with that shit.

nope i had this constantly, the solution i used was a VPN, im in UK, set to netherlands, now my gun fights feel fair

youre fighting the lag compendsation, its always been like this, since BF1. but its far more noticable now due to the quick TTK

Yea, I've had couple of games where to enemy is standing still and my shots keep missing. I get the marker of hit but the enemy just keeps on chilling.

Empire map isn't good. It's the opposite of bf 2042 maps, too much object eveywhere. Not suitable for vehicles or snipers. It should be a king of the hill or deatmatch only map. I have to play other maps to bring my hype back. I will play some bf 4 to understand what's wrong with this one.

Nice, DLSS4 somehow reappeared. Its insane how much of a difference it makes, you really starting to appreciate it more when its not available

I agree. I wont be buying at launch. The maps feel really small and gameplay is too fast.
Isn't is slower than BF3?

Said the same thing 4 times in a row. Impressive. :P

I'm playing from Pakistan to some servers in either Singapore or ME. I don't think that's the issue tbqh.

So I think the main change is the appearance (and apparently popularity) of the match making putting you into 12 v 12 matches outside of the specific queue for those modes.

Every match I started to hate i pressed tab and found i was in some 12 v 12 despite being in a queue for "large scale warfare"

As for the whole "I die too quickly, but take an age to kill anyone" issue

I found it was due to this, the bloom system. This means the longer you hold down the trigger the less likely you are are get the kill very quickly. This means unlocking ammo types that increase headshot multipliers like soft points and landing those few crucial shots early in the burst are what makes or break your engagements.

Played for a few hours last night, the first couple were frustrating to say the least, I was getting slapped left and right, there were also players on top of the bridges on E.

Once I turned off cross play I started having fun again, this really should be off as default, hopefully it becomes more known amongst the masses, or why can't they leave console and pc in separate servers with it on, just seem ludicrous.

I had a lot more fun last week, but I guess the first half of last night soured it for yesterday, it just seems the lobbies were full of absolute sweats

Playing BF6 beta, with my brother right now on base ps5. Tank battle is so much fun, and its great too see team work when everyone battling with you, along with tanks. Allot of mayhem but still allot of tactics. Destroying a building with all the enemies in it is very rewarding.

Some of the guns are significantly better than others. The MP7 and that carbine 74u have been the standouts so far for me.
M4A1 for me that thing is a beast, even at range. And destroys at close to medium ranges.

But yeah enjoying a lot still including rush which is way more focused and amps the intensity with limited tickets and time especially on the attacking side.

Also reading the Battlefield subreddit is kinda funny. A lot of complainers and old guards saying this plays too much like CoD lol.

Some dingbat has taken all breakthrough and rush modes off the main menu, which means custom search doesn't work as not enough people know about it.

You're not winning the argument here, Dice.
