Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

What? Isn't this warzone? If not it just looks absolutely the same, even the crates, everything. wut.
I said as much just above, it looks like a carbon copy lol. Its a BR sure, but a tiny bit of originality wouldn't have gone amiss.

Warzone brought its own spin at least with gulags and loadouts, Resurgence mode etc. This just looks totally uninspiring, and I like BR's.

Still, if it plays as well as the main game i'll give it a shot.

People that are playing like it quite a bit. They are saying it requires a lot more teamwork than other BR's and it is very cinematic. Pretty much every building and structure can be destroyed. The fire ring also instantly kills you

I am not too excited about it, but I am not sure there is a way to reinvent BR from games like Warzone or PUBG

No need to reinvent the wheel but a bit of evolution/refinement would be nice. Like I said above, Warzone brought some fresh idea's to the formula this just looks exactly the same. Hard to get excited about this one. Will wait for official word but they need something that separates it from the crowd imo.

Warzone but with destruction isn't enough for me personally I don't think. I'm sick of that game now after being in my rotation for nearly 5 odd years.

It's not a pure BR where you have to procure on site. There are respawns, loadouts and missions.

Obviously that means it's exactly like Warzone and that's the audience they're going for, although that dampens my interest personally.

So these are the big changes from the beta so far.

So if your a console player and where sick of being dominated by the keyboard + mouse "advantage" well it turns out that actually its because you suck so hard that even with broken levels of aim assist you are just that bad.

Aim assist is being lowered not because of console players feelings or "lived experiences" but because of the stats and internal testing showed a clear advantage. Good news its just the hackers you have to worry about now.

The non spotted enemy markers a cool change, that was taken directly from the community.

Also as far as I can tell you can actually still kick aim assist into overdrive by just moving, they removed the snap aim though, so that means snipers and DMR's are going to be a M + KB battleground at the medium/long range. If M + KB start dominating it seems they plan to ramp it back up, but if they dont well...

Tech is there, they just not using full destruction in MP for balanced reasons

Honestly they should make certain parts of a map this destructible, I was thinking that middle point on siege of cario, both sides of that street should be able to be leveled, creating two heaps of rubble for the teams to run over and down, I feel that this level evolution at the battle continues is a missed opportunity.

Maybe on post launch maps we'll see things like this

ive seen another one like this, where an air strike takes the whole building out. needs more of this, as long as its not 1 stupid hit from a sledgehammer

also BF6 proving 9/11 was an inside job :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_winking:

Honestly, the full building destruction, while cool visually, is really a detriment to gameplay.
It's good that there's no full building levolution on maps in multiplayer.
I hope it stays that way.

it does make me wonder if its a portal option tho, that can be toggled on/off. since these are standard assests. be interesting to see if people start making full destruction maps using that building and/if other are too........

If multiplayer maps were fully and dynamically destructible they would be a relatively barren within 5 minutes.

The only way destruction can work is if it is select and/or scripted.

Real gamers on console like me play with aim assist off

Would make sense to be able to use it if its in the game. Maybe you can turn it on in the existing maps through portal. Could be fun.

You'd do it once, think 'wow that was cool' and then spend 10 minutes playing as a sitting duck for snipers and tanks.

Gameplay should always come first, Battlefield isn't a milsim. The most realistic thing about it is bullet drop (which by the way that range finder attachment is dumb and needs to go).

It depends, the issue is people remember Bad Company 2 for this feature because it was designed around Rush, this meant that the defending teams advantage was essentially eroded per point as more and more of their cover was destroyed. It allowed for the match to naturally progress when in any other game a stalemate would have occurred. I would argue this works extremely well for that game mode, and is the main reason people remember BC2 as being super fun.

With more recent titles designing their maps around conquest and rush/assualt game modes playing second fiddle that means that yes this happens, however you could still design the map around key parts falling completely to allow the dynamic of that area to shift, we saw it in BF4 on certain maps, where the complete destruction of buildings did not mean the entire map turned into a turkey shoot, it just meant the battle moved on from that location once that handpoint had been destroyed.

With the fall off Cairo it could mean that middle part essentially becomes a no go area and the combat naturally shifts to the back allys and rear of the other existing areas which at the moment are massively underutilised. It could also be utter shit, but we will never know because they never bothered to test it in the labs, until BR.

What exactly does the non enemy potted marker mean. Only you can see the marker ?
