Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

lol and not like DICE didn't release many an expansion pack before 2006.
It's like fighting games, now they charge for characters, in the past you had to rebuy the game over and over to get the updates.

Agreed.

They have teams already in place for post launch support. The reality is, realistically...most are not going to be playing no 20 fucking maps day 1. 9 maps is more then good enough to launch, especially with new ones being added a month in. I don't even buy that anyone can even fully enjoy, learn, memorize or even get the most out of those maps in such a time frame, where it MUST launch with 20 or some dumb shit like this.

I simply don't give a fuck, I'll be going HAM on those 9 maps day 1 and by the time they roll out some new maps, they can be fully enjoyed with each release. They are correct to continue the same formula they've had going with having those support teams release content over time
it's also what customers expect, and want. If devs don't update the game regularly gamers move on. The live update process is part of the development. I also think it can be a good thing. If you release 20 maps, you have 20 maps. If you release with 9, you can adjust the other 11 in response to feedback and they can come out better than they would have. Of course, that's if the dev gives a shit. BO6 had seasonal map updates and all the maps in that game suck.

And, they're not charging for it.

I didn't even bother with 2042 battlepass stuff, I didn't wanna battlefield myself out before bf6 releases. Kinda sad im missing out on all the skins but oh well is what it is.
If anything it made me appreciate how good BF6 actually is and how trivial the whinging complaints are on the subreddit.

You could probably make it to level 49 if you played all through the weekend. The weekly challenges will still be there.

Honestly I lve hated every second of doing the battlepass of 2042, its absolute dog shit after playing bf6

I'm one of those preorders—broke down and preordered the phantom edition yesterday. Even after preordering the $99 BF 2042 edition and playing less than 10 hours of it. The beta and the information they released afterwards finally got to me. God help me.
same. i've played enough of the beta to know that i'll like it and get my moneys worth for sure

after playing call of duty today, my preorder for my BF6 was the right call. I am not finding BO7 attractive very much.

Would have probably it if Battlefield 6 wasn't coming out. but the gun gameplay / the gameplay itself / the graphics are really way above BO7.

So I dropped the Free Pass grind the past couple of weeks as I was down with COVID and didn't feel much like gaming. Let alone BF2042 grinding. Was at tier 35, and now I'm noticing we're under 5 days on the pass. I hadn't done any AFK servering but just set it up. I kind of get the feeling that just paying for tiers might not be more expensive than the electricity involved... but I'll let it run overnight and see how much progress it makes.

I missed a couple of the weekly bonuses, and it looks like they were super easy. Oh well. I guess this last weekend will be triple XP which combined with knocking out a bunch of regular challenges... I can probably make up a big chunk of the pass without too much effort. But at 35 out of 60 I'm not entirely sure my best bet isn't to just tap out.

I mean they managed to turn around 2042 so much that I was crawling back to it after having played just a couple of Black Ops 7 matches. What an awful experience that was lol.
Truth.

2042 had so many issues, the fact that they kept fixing it, updating it, free content, the fact that we even recently got a new map is a testament to that companies support of their games post launch.

So I'm hype not just for next week, but for years to come to see the content they put into it.

Nothing against COD, but they are not giving folks free maps of COD Vanguard in 2025.

Looks like Blackwell is going to be another medium sized map. I dont know why DICE is so afraid of at least widening the borders along the top and bottom flags to give people more room to flank

History repeats itself. mid 2000s, im cycling between COD in the fall, battlefield in the spring... then COD and battlefield 3 are both coming out in the fall.... I'm in my brothers room, watching him play COD... its the same exact game, same weapons and perks and attatchments, just reskinned... no innovation. Enjoyed the hell out of battlefield with no regrets. fast forward a decade... Modern warfare was remastered. call of duty is fun again. battlefield is... not great. We get a few good COD games, then things start to slip... played the beta last ngiht for a few hours and holy shit, its the same game as blops 6. you can't tell me otherwise. And here we are, at the eve of another great battlefield. So next week im going to listen to some rebecca black, order a pizza, and hope titanfall 3 comes out in the next few years.

Pre loading now, Been in the game since college days. Made life long friends thanks to battlefield and now many of them are coming back together for BF6. Bring it on Boys, cheers to old times.

Allow myself... to reply... to myself.
austin powers yes GIF

Went from 35 to 39 in about 10 hours, with a disconnect in there at some undetermined point. I think my remaining missions give me 11 or so tiers, so I think some more AFK and some bot lobbies for missions should do the trick.

Is Rebecca black a thing or you are joking? (Not american)

And done with the 2042 pass. It's definitely a better game than it was at launch but most of the maps are still lacking, even after the revamps. Still, I had some fun with the near-future gadgetry, which kinda reminded me of my days with BF2142.

Also, funny coincidence that I ended on player level 60 right as I hit Battle Pass 60.

I was level 77, so looks like I played much longer than I needed to.

Ok this is getting silly now with how much of the CoD aesthetic they are ripping off lol (and yes I know that CoD themselves ripped off Marvel). But man, everything from the (in-game) visuals to the marketing screams CoD, even the pre-order images could be mistaken for it. Insane.

Knocked it out as well, AFK grind from like level 32 to 50, then one round of private Portal Iwo Jima Breakthrough more than knocked out the rest with the back 9 of the missions. I didn't realize I had done so many missions as I was only focusing on a couple of annoying ones. So I was a bit surprised to see I was done while checking my progress. Not that I'm complaining.

The AFK grind probably would have taken care of everything itself... but BF2042 likes to crash while I was playing Rocket League for much of the weekend and I wasn't paying that much attention or restarting it in a timely fashion.
