Battlefield 6 is going to break the concurrent player record of BF franchise on Steam — take a wild guess how high it’ll go.

Battlefield V holds the current record, but i guess BF6 is about to double it at minimum.

Been #1 occasionally. A reminder what a crazy earner Counterstrike is.
When Cyberpunk 2077 released and sold several 100's of thousands of copies daily, CS was still #1 and riding high on Operation Riptide.

Counterstrike is FTP and all in game MTX. Hardly the same thing.

Its going to be a monster and I know a lot of my COD friends are likely skipping COD this year for the first time in years to play this and I bet a lot of people are doing the same.

Many are tired of running around and seeing stupid skins

2 of my old ass BF friend is coming back to BF6 after skipping the last 3 BF games. Boomer squad is getting ready :)

More than 200k should be easily doable. Game looks good, so I'd assume many of the old player base will return. Peak will highly depend on the first impressions after launch, if they fuck it up or not.

Yeah I am seriously considering just saying fuck it and pre-ordering it and getting the purchase out of the way. I know I'm going to play a lot of this.

I honestly can't remember the last time I pre-ordered a game...certainly back in the Xbox 360 era.

I'm assuming he meant battle royale. I assumed this was just talking about this weekends beta for the MP. But I guess it never stated that.
The BR is coming sometime after launch.

I think the OP means the actual game, but like you say the Beta is this weekend and its free.

I may change my mind depending on how the Beta goes but so far I think people are waaay overestimating the hype.
The trailer for 6 isn't doing nearly as well as the reveal trailer for 1, except for certain circles I'm not really seeing that many people talking about this one.
Battlefield 4 got a bump in player numbers but is still nowhere near BF1 or BFV.
Delta Force reached 200k and that game is F2P.
I'm going to say between 150 and 200k for Battlefield 6.

But as always I'll be happy to be proven wrong if the game is good and more popular than any other Battlefield.

Its on over 500k wishlist's on steam alone. Granted not all those will turn into sales day one but still.

Nothing against you man, you're solid, but this, this I've been hearing/reading for years now, always near the launch of a new BF, hype overload makes people think this is it, finally, the day BF finally trumps the year mega-juggernault that's COD

For me, hope this is it, the day Battlefield returns to form and doesn't disappoint like it's been continuously doing since V

Less than half those wishlists will turn into sales more likely.
The conversion rate on Steam whishlists is terrible the last I read about it.
Of course there are outliers like BM Wukong and the likes but more often than not wishlists are a terrible indicator of how many sales a game will have.

Anecdotal but I have had games on my wishlist for years. Not because I can't or won't buy them, it's just because I'm interested but not interested enough to buy them yet.
I probably will someday when I feel like it.

The beta numbers this weekend should give us an indication as to how it'll go. I have to say they do seem incredibly confident this time round with all the exposure, free beta's not tied to preorders etc.

Agreed, hence why I said I may change my mind after the Beta.
But the overhyping or doomposting can be so extreme in echochambers like GAF or Reddit that sometimes it makes me feel like I'm losing a bit of my grip on reality so I try to look at these threads with at least a tiny bit of scepticism.

Especially when it comes to franchises I love like this one.

No offense taken and appreciate the candor

I think COD is ripe for picking to begin its downfall as player retention has been really bad for them the last couple of games not to mention Warzone

I think that crowd is looking for a fun game with good gunplay mechanics that doesn't feel like the game is manipulating your experience via SBMM and not see Beavis and Butthead fighting Ninja Turtles

I skipped V and refunded 2042 on release day never to return so my Battlefield scars are just scratches really.

I understand the scepticism though.

As someone who hasn't played a multiplayer COD since MW 2019 (I did play BO6's Beta but that doesn't really count I think) why do people feel like the game is manipulating them?
My experience in Modern Warfare was that cross-play made the game super easy, I remember playing match after match where I kept destroying console players who played like bots.
Gunfight was by far my favourite mode from modern Call of Duty.

Never really gave Warzone a try though and the skin shenanigans only puts me off further from trying it.

Shame you skipped V, it has the best gameplay Battlefield has had since BF3 imo.
I did skip it at launch as well but now it plays pretty fucking good, I honestly believe that if they got rid of all the silly cosmetics and added the most famous battles of the war it would be the absolute best WW2 multiplayer FPS we've ever had so far.
