Unfortunately new Shadowrun games are put on hold while they are developing Battletech. Maybe they'll expand the studio to have a side-team that does prototyping or something, but as of now, there's only Battletech.

I could imagine the Necropolis and/or the Golem Arcana people might have their hands free though (or is it the same team?)

Well, Necropolis people don't have their hands free because they are still developing the game, right? :p

Anyway, i absolutely loved Dragonfall and am really enjoying Hong Kong. Hope they come back to the series with a better engine, sometime.

You guys are forgetting about the Hong Kong mini campaign that is due out before the end of the year. It won't be another Dragonfall but hey its more Shadowrun.

By the way, if anyone wants to check out the Shadowrun games, Hong Kong and Dragonfall are on Steam sale now.

New Update: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/webeharebrained/battletech/posts/1397941

*EARLY In-Engine Visual Exploration*

As we’ve said before, we’re still early in prototyping and pre-production on this project. Over the last couple of weeks, one of the pre-production tasks our art team’s been working on is a 3D test-scene in Unity (our game engine). This is an important internal pre-production goal, because it lets us explore how our 2D concept art translates to real-time 3D, uncovering some of the challenges we’ll be faced with during production, and allows us to start setting a target for the final look of the game. Explorations like this get the whole team on the same page, defining a vision that our artists, engineers and designers can all understand and evaluate. It also lets us iterate quickly to make sure our visual goals mesh well with our engineering and design goals.

A couple days ago, this test scene started to really come together. We showed it to the rest of the team, and everyone got really excited seeing what this game could look like. So, while it’s still early work-in-progress, not final… we decided it was just too cool not to show you guys, too!

Looks like a great start!

I still want it to reach the PvP tier but if it doesn't I won't be upset. It looks like we're getting a really solid game here.

I wonder what the odds are though of them doing PvP anyway if the numbers are close but it doesn't get actually funded before time runs out.

Wow that's much more impressive than I would have guessed.

Here's the GIFs they used in the e-mail they sent out:

I don't care, I'll learn Cheat Engine hacks to take hudless screenshots with free camera with this game, as long as the rendering isn't butt ugly

I wonder if we'll have much of a rush in the last 48 hours. Funding hasn't sped up all that much.

Battletech unfortunately isn't that far reaching I guess.

Should we get the mods here to update the title with final push or something?

Well, it's a 30 year old franchise that hasn't gotten a game in fifteen years or so. I think it's doing pretty well, all things considered.

Pretty much. It has a small but super enthusiastic player base. That translates to a TON of funding in the early days, but isn't really much of a guarantee about anything later. Most of the funding after the first week or so is probably coming from TBS and Harebrained fans.

Yeah, there wasn't much that they could've done to boost this KickStarter's possible reach without committing to making assets and stuff that would've been time and resource intensive to make, like an animated trailer showing off mechs or something. And that really wouldn't have been a good idea for a campaign like this, because it would've inflated the expectations for what we'd get.

That said, I hope the game has some kickass trailers near launch. That would certainly catch people's attention.

Wow those blueprints are very rare and usually goes for 50 bucks a piece. I got the Mad Cat, Vulture, and Thor from the omni mech blueprints and they weren't cheap in comparison.

As in, you bought prints for $50 or PDF to print them yourself for $50?
