If you want to moneyhat something I prefer this way (resurrecting dead games). Xbox 360 GTA IV DLC timed exclusivity wasn't all that cool (but if Nintendo wanted so then I'm sure they could do something similar with GTA V)...

Back on topic - the exposure that the game is getting due to the...uh...hurt feeling makes me think that the game had better be the bees knees and should get the development time, budget, and marketing that it's due. This little kerfuffle has given it exposure that a marketer could only dream of, and handled right could turn it into a series with a real future.

Obviously, I haven't really been following much Wii U news before this announcement, but has Nintendo openly said that all games will support the pro controller?

My biggest fear is the game is going to be casualized by that tablet, which would be a damn shame.

although if it was kept for inventor stuff, it wouldn't be too bad.

How in the Hell does that even work? Boycotting the first game years after the fact? Because folks willing to make a site like that were damn well not buying a Wii U anyway.

It's actually a Bayo2 "boycott" giving instructions on how to play the game without supporting anyone involved in making it, while also pointing out various "counter-arguments" to show those dumb Nintendo fans why they're dumb and wrong.

truly happened or not, moneyhatting big 3rd party exclusives is absolutely a right move for Nintendo, given that they don't need to worry about their 1st party games.

I'm linking the site because I bet GAF can counter these retorts: http://bayonetta2boycott.wordpress....ople-defending-bayonetta-2-on-wiiu-exclusive/

ROFL "HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PLAY IT THE RIGHT WAY:
- Buy a Wii U (USED!)
- Buy the game (USED!*)
- Enjoy the game and PG nor Nintendo got any of your money!

*It'll be used because parents will buy it for their kids and then trade it in immediately because it's got stuff that's taboo in the US like sex and religion!"

Isn't this a boycott?! :lol

These Bayonetta 2 boycott people are something else. We should all be happy that this game is even coming out at all. I mean, sure, you don't want a Wii U. That's fine, I'm not so crazy about the idea either (although it looks like I'll be buying one now). But why would you disparage a game just because you're choosing not to play it? I mean ffs the first game is like ten hours long, just borrow or rent it for a weekend.

The arguments posed by the website itself are not worth mentioning as they're basically just the videogame equivalent of an ad hominem.

1. Buy the WiiU USED when Bayonetta 2 is about to release so that Nintendo don’t get a CENT for your purchase.
2. Buy Bayonetta 2 USED (you’ll see it in a week) so that PG isn’t going to get a CENT for your purchase.
3. Play and enjoy the game (if it’s any good) knowing that you never officially supported Nintendo/PG.
4. …
5. PROFIT! (and feel good) :D

I encourage you spread this message

First of all

"Buy used" does not constitute a five-point plan. Nor does it end in profit.

Secondly, the last time I heard this plan was in 2001, when the XBox was approaching release.

Angry anti-Microsoft fans on the internet - and there were a lot back then - started this campaign. Since the XBox was announced as a loss-leader for Microsoft, meaning that each unit would be sold at a loss, people should buy the system new and then buy every game used, ensuring they lose money on the system.

I remember this plan because the genesis of it was someone writing in to TheGIA and encouraging others to do the same. I think the person taking letters at the time mocked them

It amuses me that not everyone mocked that sort of childish footstamping back then and not everyone is going to disagree with this childish footstamping again.

Before the Nintendo Direct I kinda thought about that one as well. But I deemed it impossible, because the Square side of S-E doesn't give two shits about Nintendo's consoles. Then I thought of FF X HD, but that's not going to happen I suppose.

Allthough, after the revival of Bayo 2 anything is possible I guess.

After what has transpired recently as well as all the other crazy things we've seen this gen. Nintendo grabbing Versus would provide meltdowns that can satisfy my salt needs for decades

Easily the best thing to come out of the past day. This is exactly the kind of thing Nintendo should be doing with 3rd parties.

The port beggars/whiners/boycotters need to GTFO. For a while I thought that aspect of the "console warz" was over and done with, but it looks like I was wrong.

Got Bayonetta on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Too good. Might play through again this weekend in excitement of this news. I never thought we'd see another Bayonetta, so cool.

The combat, the enemies, the music, the climax. So fucking good.

I don't give a fuck what console this runs on, if they decided to ship it on Dreamcast I'd buy it. Hopefully it will be amazing so the platform doesnt even come into it. I remember this craziness when Devil May Cry left PlayStation for other systems. The LOLs.

I just looked: thirteen separate people have been banned for console whining / port begging in this thread alone.

I think you guys did a good job

I couldn't even read the first few pages because of that stuff...

I am simply content Bayonetta 2 even exists

Some places saying its launch "window" in Japan? If that's true, we might get a taste of gameplay at TGS? That next week?

I guess if the project was put to bed then there is a chance they were well into development with it.

Many years from now, when we talk about "That time Bayo 2 was announced as a Wii U exclusive and the gaming side of the internet went insane", I'll be able to stand up and say: I was there.

I doubt we will see a release before 2014.

Might make an appearance at E3 next year?

Nintendo going after high profile third party exclusives now. Wasn't expecting this.

I wonder if they've secretly nabbed Versus XIII exclusively and that's why SE refuses to even talk about it. So that Nintendo can drop the bomb at e3.
Sony is the one who should be paying Square (to keep the exclusive deal).

EDIT: Oh, you mean, Wii U exclusive? LOL

Pretty sure the game was in development for (almost) 2 years before it got canned. Seems like they began working on it not too long after they shipped the first game (that was in 2009). Given that it's not a new universe, I'm thinking it won't arrive later than Fall 2013, could arrive earlier.

If Nintendo publishes the game it's not a third party exclusive. Are you people new to publishing models? Dragon Quest X though and Monster Hunter Tri G HD Version.. now those third party exclusives.
