8 committees, almost 7 million spent, 0 fuck given.

So...that's a wrap. Mission accomplished?

The House committee investigating the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. compound at Benghazi, Libya, has quietly shut down, more than five months after it released its findings — timing that Democrats said proved its only purpose was to embarrass Hillary Clinton.

Four Americans were killed in the attack in September 2012, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. Clinton was secretary of state at the time, and her use of a private email server emerged during investigations of the attack.

It's what happens when GOP has been doing work winning small elections and Dems need "Excitement!" just to elect a presidential candidate while sitting on their thumbs in off elections.

They get to control useless investigations like this.

More investigations than 9/11 folks. A witchhunt done specifically to keep Clinton out of office, and a witch hunt that was successful.

I know this is hyperbole and money is wasted everywhere by everyone, but sure would be nice if the 7 million was spent to feed hungry people or something

Of course the GOP and the rest of the world that supported it really don't give a fuck. Hillary lost. You don't need to pretend to care anymore.

This is why Democrats cannot let the Russia thing go. Every time a Democrat is interviewed over the next 4 years, they need to remind the American people about it.

There will probably be a small paragraph in the history books about this being a wasteful smear campaign that helped elect a fraud into the Oval Office.

Of course it dies without fanfare. The smear campaign worked.
Now the GOP knows it can decimate any opposition if it pushes hard enough and stonewalls reality.

thats amusing because an (ex) spokesman for Donald Trump was on the BBC world service this morning and he kept mentioning Benghazi as the reason nobody should believe what the CIA says about Russian hacking. Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi.

This will be the mode going forward - any criticism of Trump by a branch of government must be a politically motivated attack if the agency concerned had anything to do with anything that happened in the last 8 years of Obama.

They suddenly don't care anymore? But when will those families get their justice? They just let the Butcher of Benghazi get away with it?

Republicans can go jump off a cliff. What despicable people to abuse a situation like that for their own benefit.

umm...I have some questions....

Thankfully, the emails sent by Mr. Ghazi before his death did not go to waste. They were found by Julian Assange and laminated and framed for all to see, ensuring that Shillary's secret pizza chain was exposed and did not become a conflict of interest with the office of the Commander in Chief.

Okay, Democrats. What have we learned here today?

Go after the Trump/Russia ties- Don't stop, even if nothing is there. Hold committee after committee... For 4 years.

Because even if it isn't true, the seed of untrustworthiness has already been planted.

Democrats aren't that disciplined, which has always been their problem and why we are in this mess now. Plus we hold no majorities, we can't guide shit. Benghazi and emails grew into a huge thing because Republicans held the House. Vote fucking midterms people.

When they (hopefully) retake the Senate and/or House in 2018 or 2020, I hope they do. Unlike Clinton, I think they'll have a smoking gun with Trump by then. He's a madman who is bound to make serious mistakes. Give "lock 'em up" actually meaning.

It really does seem like we need to publicly release all of Trump's and everyone on his campaigns private and personal emails at this point. How else are we supposed to know if he was actively involved or not?

So how long will it be before the historical consensus is that a GOP Congress did everything possible to damage a Democratic Presidential candidate?

Democrats couldn't get their ass to go after the Bush administration for Iraq, I'm not holding my breath.
