These cg models interact like wooden toys, there's absolutely no impact.
I think the drool oversold it, but I mean, let's be real here, she has demonic brain damage.
The best scene was Farnese getting hot and bothered watching the breaking wheel. Her earlier scenes didn't convey her sadism very well.

Still waiting on some English translations though. Really hope they don't skip on background lore for Farnese. Her character would benefit on the expansion. It's odd to say but I rather they don't bother with the awful combat and stick with non actions scenes instead. This episode was better because it relied more on the themes of the manga then action scene.
I pictured Luca with purple hair for a while but settled for brown by the end of the volume. Not fond of the hair but just going to say it's a Jojo thing with colour.
Yeah the next few chapters should be an info dump of massive proportions like when Guts and crew met

Instead of mankind becoming and its ways and outlook becoming the dominant order in the world, rising up over the magical creatures and pushing out the supernatural elements till they fall into myth. Now it seems the more magical elements of the world are pushing back and want things to return to the way it once was with mankind existing next to the myths of the past.

until right before they hop on the boat if I'm not mistaken.
Haha, people torturing their damn selves watching this. I'm enjoying the series so far, it's definitely not executed near as well as I'd hope but I'm entertained. Think I'm actually getting used to the visuals too, but anytime a manga panel pops in my head is pretty tragic, bahahaha.

I'm always sober. As bad as this is it will never be the worst anime I've seen. Worst so far have been Freezing and Cross Ange.
I believe I usually watch Jojo after this.
Episode 4 was pretty good overall. Other than repeating 'ugh, 3D' forever, which we've already heard a million times at this point, I don't think there's much to fault this episode on. It's easily the best the show has looked so far and it felt like Berserk throughout the episode.

The caveat being you haven't read the manga or saw the 97 anime.
If you enjoy the writing I strongly suggest you read the manga.
Because the writing, when it sticks to the manga, is the only part I could see anyone enjoying.
Not really a a huge anime or manga fan and don't actively watch animes (other than this).
I'm finding the animation perfectly fine and presentable the way it is. Maybe you should just take a step back and try to enjoy it for what it is rather than being disappointed with what it isn't.

You do realize that due to the long term fan base that exists, people such as Bread up there is the reason why this anime exists right? There are a lot of passionate fans of Berserk that just wish the adaptation was better. So I honestly feel trying to talk down to the guy is honestly just disrespectful.
It's one thing to have literally 0 standards, but please don't force it onto other people.
This isn't acceptable quality and it's an insult to the original material.
Your reasoning for how this adaptation is fine to you is your lack of exposure to both the medium and the source material and your suggestion me is to step back and pretend this exists in a vacuum and try to judge it by it's own merits as a Berserk title?
Alright but if it wasn't Berserk I wouldn't be watching at all.
My Anime week is currently Dangan Ronpa Future and Despair Arc (1 episode each), Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, and Mob Psycho 100. I don't have a lot of time to dedicate every week to media that demands my full attention and unfortunately I do not understand Japanese so I need to be reading the subtitles to take it all in and Berserk 2016 does not make the cut.

Talking about hair color, I always imagined Schierke with brown hair before I first saw a colored version of her. Still wish she had brown hair ;-;

You are not the only one. I was like, "What the fuck" when I saw her green hair and unlike Jojo where there really aren't official character colors with Berserk what you see is what they really are.
This might be a weird thing to reference, but I think I knew that Schierke had green hair beforhand because of PS2 berserk game's intro.

Ajin already showed that 3D animation/GCI only is a perfectly fine for anime. If done well it can easily stand up in quality to hand-drawn animation, can add a sense of spaciousness and three-dimensionality to the surroundings and you can do alot of great stuff with facial animations, expressions and micro-emotions. The action sequences with all the particle effects are also mind blowing.
It's also cheaper to produce (in the sense that you need less money for great results) and faster to make, the first season of Ajin has been aired only a few months ago and the 2nd season is already going to air in two months or so.
Of course they went with the "cheapest of the cheap" route for the Berserk anime, I assume they didn't even have the cash to go for the traditional hand-drawn route. That's before adding in really bad direction and lousy camera work (two things that Ajin does really, really well). Not to forget entire arcs being cut and the whole thing being heavily censored (which is surprising,, Ajin is a TV- series as well, people get constantly mutilated in it and it was still aired uncut).

The new art did not do this guy justice at all. Looks like a completely different monster

This episode was probably the best yet. CG aside, the only really offensive thing was the Blacksmith monster. Pacing was good, story adaptation was good. Much fewer weird flashbacks/frenetic pacing.
